Phantom hunting is a dangerous business, especially to those that want to win and will attract as many as they can. And a large group will gladly swarm anyone or anything willing. They have to get their large numbers somehow, and the mobs will happily knot into anything that gets their attention.
Perhaps they should be concerned at how their attempts to cut down the phantom population has just raised it further, but it’s hard to think straight at the time...
