Chapter 3
The following weeks were full of stares and smiles and soft touches whenever Ava would give Beatrice her morning cups of coffee or when Beatrice would pay for them. She would find every excuses just to sit a while longer and bask in Ava's perfect features.
Lilith, one of Ava's coworkers, was growing tired of seeing the two of them just dancing around each other and listening to Ava's constant rant about the “snowflake girl” so she took matters into her hand and slipped Ava's number inside Beatrice's take out order, when the blonde one was serving a table.
Beatrice was walking toward her office when she noticed the small piece of paper under her recepit, just before throwing out the paper bag. She read it out loud and it said : Hi, this is Lilith, the girl who served you coffee this morning,, I'm sorry to intercede but I'm honestly a little tired to listen Ava talking non stop about you soooo here is her number : 555-341234. Hit her up so she can stop giving me headaches, thanks ;).
It took a minute for Beatrice to elaborate what she just finished reading..what did the girl meant when she said talking non stop about her? Did Ava talked about her in her free time? Did Ava even thought about her when she wasn't at work?
She looked at her watch and thought shit I'm late for work so she began running toward the library holding tight on the piece of paper.
When she arrived, all flustered and short of breath, she entered the office and sat on her chair behind her desk, the one in front of Camila's one, who turned around and said:
“Wow, I didn't think I would see the day when the Beatrice Young would be late for work”, she said laughing and in her usual peculiar voice, “ What's the big deal? Did you lose track of time staring at the cute barista once again?” she winked.
“Not that's any of your business”, Beatrice said , “but she just gave me her number”.
Well not technically, she thought, but Camila didn't need to know that right now.ù
“What??? Are you actually serious right now?” the short haired girl said, “Did she finally grew tired of you giving her the heart eyes?”
“ I guess she finally has been struck by my charm” Beatrice replied, hiding the embaressment she felt.
“Alright there, Zendaya! So what are waiting for? Did you sent her a message?”, Camila said.
Beatrice picked her phone and saved her contact, under “cute barista”, and stared at the phone screen thinking: what am I gonna send her?.
