Nancy The Badass Wheeler
Finally, the clock hit 9:30 and Robin could leave this god forsaken place. Family Video was never one for being a fun place, just repeated actions.
That’ll be $4.25!
Thank you come again!
Looks like your return on The Conjuring is 2 weeks late, that’ll be a $15 late fee but I’ll let you off the hook this time if you can get it in in a week
Huh, that sounded like a recent conversation she had with Nancy about Mikes late return…
She wasted no time in snatching her backpack, slipping it on her back, and running out from the back room and rushing out the door, almost forgetting to shut the lights off, so of course she had to rush back in and make her rounds shutting every single light off.
She counted down how many lights she had left as she moved.
8
7, only 7?!
6
5 c’mon c’mon c’mon!
4
3- god why are there so many?! Who needs this many lights!?
2
Ugh! 1! Finally!
She ran for the door, almost falling into a shelf she had just fixed and stocked. She would’ve thrown herself on the floor just then and given up. She would’ve let herself lay there for Steve to find her in the morning, covered in tapes.
Luckily, the shelf only wobbled. It worried her so she stood waiting for a moment for a clack on the floor, but she was pleased to hear silence.
She ran for the door, flipping the open sign to closed, slipping out through the door and locking it with the store key. After shoving the key into her jacket pocket, she ran to the bike rack that sat conveniently under a street light.
Since buying a bike lock is just too much effort (and everyone has a bike anyway so why would they take hers) she simply just rips her bike away from the rack and hops on it, peddling as fast as she can. After all, the fate of Indiana, if not the world, depends on it.
This whole Vecna/Henry/One thing really proved to be no joke, I mean she knew it was all no joke once she saw the amalgamation in the Starcourt mall, so it was important that she arrive to their planning at the Wheelers house while Nancy’s family was out.
Nancy, oh how she wanted to see Nancy. After their Pennhurst adventure, they’d been close ever since. She wanted to see Nancy’s misty blue eyes, her strict jawline, her badassness especially. Nancy Wheeler was a badass there was no doubt about it, and god did it make Robin swoon.
Every time her and Nancy were together, they’d make fun of Steve and his love life (not that her herself had any existing love life either so he’d retort with that). They’d sit close together, thighs touching while planning was being discussed, hands centimeters from one another. She wanted to be brave and just hold it, but let’s be honest here, she simply doesn’t have the guts to even begin the idea of touching Nancy Wheeler.
Robin went from believing Nancy was the biggest priss to ever hit Hawkins (and there was a lot of them) to Nancy was the most protective, prettiest, kindest, badass-test and caring person she had ever met..
She rounded a corner, now she had 2 more streets to go until she reached the Wheelers household and their Reagan sign out front (she’d surely have a “talk” with Ted when he got back (no she wouldn’t))
The street lamps that usually stay lit throughout the entire night, were completely out, leaving the road completely pitch black. She hoped her eyes would adjust sooner then later, because knowing herself, she knew she’d probably end up with stitches any minute.
Once her eyes did adjust, she could see the end of the road and thankfully she was nearing it, but she couldn’t help but notice the red Porsche considering it was sitting in such an out of place spot in the middle of a middle class neighborhood.
She couldn’t help but scoff in distaste at what could’ve been donations to feed and house the homeless, but instead the money was used for a… a what… a 400,000 thousand dollar car?
Suddenly she felt pressure against her shoulders. One second she’s cruising down the road, the next she’s on the cold sidewalk concrete and she can hear her bike falling several feet away making a loud clang!
What was that taste.. Metallic.. Then next she felt it leak from her mouth and slide down the side of her cheek.
Once she raised her head – and god is that an awful headache – did she see the man looming over her.
With a quiet click, a bright light was blinding her, then it was quickly moved, “Yeah that’s her alright”
Then 2 other flashlights lit up the surroundings, and then she could see the man.
Jason Carver. Jason motherfucking Carver because of course it is! Why wouldn’t it be!
Before she could comprehend any further, he grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and dragged her over to the grass, throwing her onto her back.
The 2 people with flashlights crept closer to reveal the 2 others standing directly beside her. She was surrounded. 4 of Jason’s goons surrounding her, while Jason stood menacingly at the end.
“Holy shit dude you already made her bleed!” said a random guy from her left
Jason crept to her right, pushing aside the 2 and kneeling, grabbing her by the collar of her shirt and lifting her up until she was forced onto her elbows.
“Good” Jason spoke with an evil smirk
“Let’s get started then shall we Buckley? Where’s Munson? And I know you know where he is so don’t bullshit me.”
Robin stayed completely silent whilst giving him an evil glare that should’ve shot out rays like Superman. She could only hope.
“Where is he?!” Jason shouted as she shakes her like a madman
Robin was silent.
Jason scoffs, “Really protecting a freak? Oh wait, I forgot, freaks protect freaks isn’t that right? Yeah I know what you are Buckley.”
She got flashes of how it is in high school. Well really, from middle school to high school. The way everyone somehow knew and definitely made it known that they knew by calling her obscenities. She’d surely gone home with black eyes more then once.
But no, this time she wouldn’t accept it like she would back then. She’s been under Russian interrogation, she’s fought creatures of the underworld, and she’d surely not feel like a little bitch to someone like JasonCarver.
She scowled, building up spit in her mouth, then suddenly she spit in his face and continued to glare at him as he gave her a shocked eye widened look mixed with disgust.
A new confidence formed in her words as she spit them out like venom, burning through Jason’s body
“Even if I did know, why the hell would I tell a monster like you.”
She heard his friends various oh shit ‘s and dude don’t hurt her too bad
Comparing the Russian generals stone cold glare to Jason’s disgust is almost enough to make her laugh in his face. He’s no big Badass, he never would see what her and her friends see, he’s not a killer and he never would be, no matter how much of a hard ass he pretended to be. The mask would slip, she knew it. And in fact, she was praying for it, and she’s not one for the whole god mumbo jumbo considering he doesn’t like her very much either.
Jason simply dropped her and stood, wiping the spit from his face onto the sleeve of his letterman jacket.
“Go get the bats.” Jason demanded but no one moved, instead they gave him unsteady expressions.
“NOW!!”
They all scampered off quickly in the direction of the Porsche. Of course it was Jason’s.
Jason kneeled back down, gripping her collar once again and putting his mouth right to her hear to get nice and close so she can hear his kind words loud and clear.
“You’re a little lesbo in a little town. You’re a sinner. You’re protecting a murderer. “ Jason berated as he backed his head away as to not gain any further spit blows. His words didn’t have much effect on Robin anymore considering she knew all of them were fact, except for the protecting a murderer part of course.
Robin gave a wide smirk, the split in her lip widening and gushing even more blood as her teeth were stained red, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. What murderer? And by the way, that Porsche you got there, what is it… 400k? Could’ve gone to feeding homeless, housing them. Isn’t it sickening to know that some people out there spend money on 400 thousand dollar cars?”
“They are.” Robin leaned in and emphasized her venomous words, “Truly.” She moved an inch closer, “The scum.” Another inch, “Of the earth.”
Jason raised his fist to barrel at her, I mean she didn’t expect to get away without at least one bruise, but before he could go through with it, the 4 came back, bats in each hand but his best buddy Patrick had 2. One was plain wood, the other was metal, AND wrapped in barbed wire.
Well shit
Jason stood, immediately snatching the lethal one from Patrick.
Patrick immediately spoke, “I don’t know about this man, we didn’t think it’d actually go this far..”
Jason scoffed, shouting, “You going soft, Pat? She knows where the murderer of an innocent girl- my girlfriend is! And Robin here won't tell us shit because they're buddies. If the police can't find shit, then we will one way or another!”
Jason didn’t bother waiting for a reply from Patrick, instead he immediately looked at Robin with that evil face, “I made this specially crafted for you tonight Buckley. We know you’re going to the Wheelers to make some plans with your other freak friends. Steve Harrington the once king of Hawkins fits in with the kiddie pool. And ah yes, Nancy the Slut Wheeler-“
Don’t you-
She couldn’t stop herself, “Don’t you even dare talk about them like that.”
“Ooo struck a nerve at Nancy. Do you love her too like you loved Tammy Thompson? You pervert, eyeing her up and down constantly” Jason mocks, venom laced in his vocal cords.
“You can talk shit about me all you want, but I won’t let you talk about my friends like they’re nothing but a title.”
“Oh yeah? Whatcha gonna do Buck? Hurt me? Like your buddy Munson hurt Chrissy? C’mon boys, let’s wrap this up”
Jason demands it, but no one moves. No one truly has the guts.
Jason scoffs, “Pussys” as he raises the bat over his shoulder
God, she could feel the barbed wire hit her skin and tear through her flesh already even if it hadn’t happened yet. Where would he hit? Hopefully not anywhere too vital.
“Don't worry, I'll stop when you tell me where Munson is.”
Right before Jason could swing the bat, a loud BOOM shakes the ground around them.
Two of the guys drop their bats and flashlights in fear, getting a good angle on Jason’s horrified face.
Everyone turned to look at the source of the commotion, even Robin, and they saw none other then Nancy the Badass Wheeler, standing there with her 12 gauge aimed to the sky, fury lacing every part of her once light blue eyes. But now they were dark and filled with anger.
Lights from the houses around immediately turned on.
“I have no problem with blowing holes into any one of you” Nancy stated coldly, her body remaining frigid and ready to blow another round into the sky
Robin smiled through her bloodied lip, the crimson staining her teeth.
3 of the guys immediately turned on their heels and ran, and knowing what Nancy is capable of, running was the smartest thing to ever do.
This left only Patrick and Jason, both still gripping their bats.
Jason smirked devilishly, “You're not shooting anyone, Wheeler.”
Nancy aims her shotgun at Jason, stepping closer slowly as she cocks it back
Jason’s eyes widen a smidge as he takes one step backwards away from the rage filled woman with a damn shotgun.
Patrick shakes his head, “Sorry man but I didn’t sign up for a crazy girl wielding a damn shotgun” and he walks off with the bat still in hand.
Nancy smirks, “Might wanna follow, Jason.”
“Hey it was a misunderstanding, she’s not the one we meant to catch!” he frantically tries to dig himself out of the grave he’s put himself in. He might as well just close the casket.
Robin shouts out “Should’ve figured that out before you shit talked all my friends and then called for your buddies to prep the weapons to beat me with!”
This must’ve ticked Nancy right off, considering she lowered her shotgun and shot it off directly next to Jason’s foot, sending grass and dirt flying everywhere. Jason shrieked louder then Nancy’s little sister Holly. He quickly raised his leg in attempt to dodge it, not that he even had to but purely out of fear he felt like he did.
Robin let’s out a loud laugh, racking her ribcage. And it’s all purely at the girly shriek that came out of the grown man who was just threatening her life.
Nancy only smirked wider at Robins enjoyment.
Jason immediately backs up a couple steps screaming “Ok ok you fucking psychos! Tell Munson we’ll find him, and when we do, it will not be pretty!”
Nancy replies with “It won’t be pretty for you and your buddies either once I’ve used up every shotgun shell, and I don’t miss.”
Jason scoffs and runs off, dust being kicked up as he runs like a bat out of hell.
Nancy waits for it to be completely silent before she rushes to Robins side and kneels as she lays the shotgun on the grass. She immediately moves Robins hair out of her face, pushing the loose strands behind Robins ears with a gentle smile on her face.
Robin swore her heart would leave her ribcage and go right up her throat and out her mouth, landing directly in her hands, no longer hiding.
It would convulse in her hands, dripping blood down her arms and all over her red converse shoes that definitely needed changing anyway.
“Assholes. Jeez-“ then Nancy’s expression turned sour and angry once her eyes wandered to Robins lips, “What the hell did they do to you?!” Nancy shouts as she places her finger on Robins lip, pulling it down more to reveal the wide split that remains.
Robin hisses in pain at the sudden movement and widening of the split but it definitely wasn’t enough pain to pull away from Nancy’s touch.
“I-I did it myself when he threw me down-“
“He threw you down?! I shouldn’t have let him go without a little bloodshed.”
“I-It’s ok Nance, I’m ok I promise.”
Nancy shook her head, moving her finger down to Robins chin, holding her face in place as she gently kisses her, ignoring the blood smearing on her lips.
It felt like explosions. She’d go through all of this again if she got to experience a kiss from Nancy Wheeler again. Wait, Nancy Wheeler just kissed her?!?! God she hoped groundhog day truly existed and she’d wake up and it’d be the morning again. She’d go through all the boring exchanges with customers, she’d clean a million shelves if it meant at the end of the day she’d witness that again. Nancy Wheelers kiss.
Once Nancy pulled away, she smiled, showing off Robins blood painting her lips like lipstick. Robin couldn’t believe- she couldn’t- she couldn’t fathomany of this. She supposes that Nancy does have even more secrets then having fought alternate dimensional demons before.
Screw the wound, Nancy just kissed me. Screw everything, screw Steve, screw Max, screw Eddie, screw Vecna/Henry/One. Nancy is where the parties at
Nancy chuckles at Robins star struck expression as she stands and reaches her hand down for Robin to take, which Robin wasted no time in doing, and in seconds she was standing and running to grab her poor bike that was discarded, wheeling it over.
Robin chuckles, “My hero, Nancy Wheeler.”
Nancy quickly kneeled down and picked her shotgun up, and stood again beside Robin.
“You were 10 minutes late and I got suspicious so I came to come find you.”
“Protective Nancy Wheeler as per usual. T-Thanks, Nance. S-Seriously. The guy had a whole posse waiting for me, and they had fricken bats! One with barbed wire on it! Like are you trying to kill me dude? Unless he- he actually was.”
Nancy scowled and began to walk down the sidewalk, Robin following close beside her.
“And y’know.. Thanks for the.. Kiss too.”
Nancy giggled as she shook her head fondly, “Oh Robin Buckley.” She sighed, “C'mon, let’s get you back to mine and we’ll get that lip taken care of, and that Reagan sign taken care of.”
“Nancy Wheeler, reading my mind is prohibited.”
Nancy chuckles, “Whoops, take me to jail officer. What’s the fine?”
“Maybe a-a… A kiss?”
Nancy’s smile widened some how even further, “Hm I don’t know, that sounds expensive… But ok, cmere Buckley.”
Nancy grabbed Robin by the collar, pulling her down and making her bend her knees to get a harder but still gentle kiss on the lips.
Once Nancy pulled away (and of course Robin wasn’t the one who pulled away) she smiled wide and continued down the sidewalk, slightly hopping and skipping as she went. Robin had to jog to keep up with her as she lugged her bike along, but she managed.
As they ventured further down the road, Nancy slid her fingers between Robins, interlacing their fingers in a game of twister. Hell twister might be her favorite game from now on.
Robin wondered why they were going the opposite direction of the Wheelers, but then that old Station wagon came into view
“Nancy, did you go full stealth and park your car all the way down there?”
Nancy giggles, “What’s it to ya?”
“You are such a badass.”
