Chapter 1
I cling to the railing, below me was the cold dark water. I hear him approach the edge where I'm hanging. I see no way out, if I climb up he will shoot me on the spot. The only chance was down. Down into the deep, dark water from which I have fled for so long, but which I now welcome as the only way out.
I feel my strength start to run out and my fingers let go of the railing, Before I fall I whisper "please forgive me". The way down to the dark, cold sea takes longer than I thought, everything is in slow motion. It's really true what they say that you see your life passing by your eyes right before the moment of death. All the memories play out in front of me just like a movie but the happiest memories that play are when I was with her, the love of my life who I wanted to spend the rest of it with, which I hoped would be longer than this.
Suddenly, the movie is interrupted by a bang. I had hit my head on the ship's hull, and before I can feel the pain, I feel how the masses of water swallow me whole and the cold penetrates my body. I try to swim up to the surface, but an invisible force pulls me down, and my lungs fill with the cold water, it's over now, there's nothing more to do. My body gives up, and I start to sink into the depths. Before everything goes black, I see her face in front of me, her blonde beautiful hair swaying in the water and I feel at peace, I got to see her one last time before the world disappears.
