It was a vulnerable position Alex had found Tommy in by the van, wandering around and not at all in the headspace to be unsupervised.
In any regular situation Q would brush it off.
"That's his problem, not mine. None of my business"
But this was Tommy. Tommy was basically a little kid to him, even more so now.
"Q!" The blonde said happily, reaching his teddy bear up from where he was sitting criss-cross on the floor. "Look what I did! Business!" His face lit up when Alex smiled down at him from his desk. Tommy gotten one of his ties from god knows where and tied it sloppily around the bear's neck. Business bear. "Awww, that's cute, Tom." Q said gently, doing his best to remain warm and caring despite his stress from work. The boy on floor frowned. "No." He said, pouting a bit, causing the working man to raise an eyebrow. "No?" He questioned. "Why? I think it's adorable." He said, pausing from his papers to position his chair towards Tommy. "Not! He's a big, big, cool man!" He exclaimed "Business, cool business man!!" He thrusted the teddy toward Alex, almost bumping their noses.
"Ohh, my bad, Teddy" He said, smiling apologetically and shaking the bear's stuffed paw. Tommy giggled with a grin. "Ha! Dumb dumb, he's not actually alive!!" He so cleverly explained through laughs. Alex's smile softened as he held his hands up in acknowledgement. "Oh wow, Tom, you really got me." He chuckled as well, ruffling Tommy's hair.
"Hey, kid, how about we go get a snack?" He grinned, standing up from his spinny chair and stretching, said kid's face some how brightened even further as he bounced to his feet. "Okay!!" He hummed happily as Q led him to the kitchen.
