WEI is a famous artist. She is known for her unique vocals. She was recruited by Sentiel entertainment when she came to S.korea 5 years ago for a vacation and to attend a BTS concert.
When she was 28, she got drunk at a friend's party and was tricked into signing a contract. She thought of filing a lawsuit but held back seeing that it was not in her favor.
So she, being a law-abiding citizen, quit her job and ran away to Korea to fulfill the contract and become an artist under sentiel. She fought and negotiated with the company and asked for her identity and personal information to be hidden.
When she was 29, she was adopted by the Kim couple, whose only child was Hongjoong of ateez.
WEI was enamored with her younger brother and always helped him. She always encouraged him to dream big. When he said that he wanted to make music, even though their parents were against the idea of their only son going away to train she always supported him. She helped him convince their parents and he came to Seoul with her to start his idol training.
Even as she grew more popular, she never forgot to spend time with her brother as she knew he would get homesick.
When she was 30, she was introduced to her brother's teammates and future family. She immediately fell in love with the kids who treated each other as their own family. She would often take time off to visit them in their dorms to give advice on their life after debut and also to simply cook them some homemade meals.
Their storyline was decided and the crew of the pirate king who is searching for utopia was formed.
Hongjoong who developed leadership skills under their company's rigorous training became the captain of their pirate crew.
They both gradually became more popular as time went on.
WEI is now 34 years old. 6 years have passed since she signed her company's contract. She always wore a mask that covered half her face, when she was outside, at the company, and during concerts and fan signs. Except for the CEO and the person who recruited her no one knew how she looked.
During these five years, she became increasingly popular in the nation and overseas.
She was never into singing because she always thought her voice was not that good. Even 4 years into her debut, she couldn't understand just what was so good about her voice that made people listen to her songs.
On the day on which her contract was supposed to end, she was scheduled for an interview. Her company who knew the contract expiry was nearing tried to make negotiations with her to renew their contract two months ago. She outright refused and told them she was planning to leave the company.
Even when the company promised her many royalties, she never accepted.
There were three reasons she wanted to terminate her contract.
One being, she simply hated the company that often took advantage of her.
Two, she still hasn't decided on whether she will continue or retire
Three, she wanted to work in the same company as her brother if she decided to continue.
