"I'm doing it. I'm gonna ask him out." Charlotte said, as she sat on the bed of their college dorm room with a fashion magazine in her hands.
"Ask who out?" Becky said, feeling upset that she still hasn't asked her out.
"There's this boy in one of our classes and he's drop dead gorgeous." Charlotte said, as she twirled her hair while daydreaming about him.
Becky got up from the floor and snapped her fingers in front of her face, "Looks aren't everything."
Charlotte rolled her eyes, "I know that already, but all the other girls wanna be with him, so he must be something special."
Becky let out a sigh, "Whatever you say..."
A few hours later, Andrade caught Charlotte in the hallway, "Hey, you're that beauty queen in one of my classes, right?"
Charlotte froze for a moment. Was he actually speaking to her?! "Y-yeah, that's me."
"Well, if you're not doing anything tonight I'd love to take you out on a date." Andrade said, he wasn't just gonna let someone else snatch her up.
"I'm free." Charlotte said quickly, as her heart raced like she was running in a marathon.
"That's music to my ears." Andrade said smoothly, as he walked over to give her a kiss on the cheek.
Becky was strolling through the hallway when she caught the kiss of death, "Holy cow!" She thought to herself, nearly dropping her books on the ground.
After several hours had passed it was finally time for Charlotte's big date! "How do I look?"
"Huh?" Becky said, pretending that she wasn't paying attention despite the fact that all she could even think about was Charlotte.
"Since when have you been into fashion shows?" Charlotte said, pointing towards the television.
Becky ran a hand down her face, "Since when have you been into kissing on the first date? Oops, my bad, I meant before the date..."
"Oh, you saw that..." Charlotte said, pinching the bridge of her nose.
Becky didn't respond, deciding to leave the dorm room instead while Charlotte held her handheld mirror feeling confused. Becky just couldn't bare to let her hear the sadness in her voice or see the tears that were building in her eyes.
Andrade didn't expect anyone to be turning the corner in the hallway and slammed right into Becky, "Watch where you're freaking going you freak!"
Becky widened her eyes, "Excuse me? You bumped into me."
Andrade shock his head, "Anyway, I don't have time for your nonsense, I've got a hot date tonight."
Becky squinted her eyes, "Wait, you're not referring to my best friend Charlotte, are you?"
"It's none of your business." Andrade said, looking her up and down before brushing harshly past her.
Becky went into the public bathroom to cry her eyes out while Andrade knocked on Charlotte's front door, "You look breathtaking."
Charlotte flashed a wide smile, "Well, you look even better."
"Now let's get outta here." Andrade said, pulling her forward and stroking her hand as they walked down the hallway.
The walk to the restaurant was short and sweet, but Charlotte still doesn't understand why Andrade wouldn't just drive her there instead, "Look, I already told you that a friend of mine is getting my car cleaned."
Charlotte shrugged, feeling like he was just making an excuse, but didn't wanna keep poking him about it and certainly didn't wanna ruin things with him before they really even got started, "Anyway, can you please excuse me?"
"Of course." Andrade said, as he picked up his menu and Charlotte headed to the bathroom.
A few minutes later, Becky showed up but she wasn't alone this time, "Are you stalking me now you little freak of nature?"
Becky was speechless by the harsh words from Andrade, but Ric sure wasn't, "Listen, you can't talk to her that way!"
"Or what, you're gonna knock me out old man?" Andrade said, laughing out loud.
"He might not, but I will." Becky said, somehow finding her voice again.
"Awww, don't, I wouldn't wanna see you break a nail or something." Andrade said, reaching for his glass of water and drinking it as he watched Becky intensely.
"I-I think we should just leave at this point." Ric said, grabbing her arm.
"No! We can't just let this piece of garbage win. And your daughter will be the biggest loser from it if we do nothing." Becky said, pulling her arm away from him.
"Here," Andrade said, passing Becky a piece of paper, "It's my phone number since I know you have a crush on me."
Becky immediately dropped it, feeling like she was gonna throw up, "You're on a date with Charlotte though."
Andrade gave her a grin, "Am I? I was half asleep throughout it."
Becky raised an eyebrow, "But you don't even like me!"
"I never said that." Andrade said, getting up from his chair and walking towards Becky, which got her to take a few steps back, "I mean, yeah, you drove me crazy at first but now you're driving me crazy in all the right ways."
"Ric, you're right... it's time to go." Becky said, walking away with her head down low.
Later on that night, Becky was back in her dorm room with Ric while on her computer playing some video games when Andrade randomly called her, "Wait, how'd you get my number?"
"It's not important!" Andrade shouted, sounding as if he was being rushed, "Listen, how about you come into my dorm room and-"
"No." Becky said, stopping him before he could somehow convince her since she was actually starting to fall for his charm.
Somehow Andrade was able to keep Becky on the phone by changing the subject to something sports related and a connection was soon formed between them, "Ooh, shoot, gotta go! Talk to you later?"
Becky closed her eyes for a moment, "Yeah, sure, I'll catch you later."
An hour had gone by and Charlotte was now returning to her dorm room when she was startled by the presence of her father, "Dad?!"
"Charlotte..." Ric said, walking over to her, "We need you to break up with Andrade."
"What?!" Charlotte said, backing away from him, "He's a freaking dream boat! Other than the fact that he wouldn't stop speaking to someone on the phone for like a half an hour..."
Becky raised her hand, "And that would be me."
Charlotte tilted her head, "What'd you just say?"
Becky began to rock back and fourth in her chair, "H-he likes me."
Charlotte burst out laughing, "You?! Please, there's a reason you haven't had many dates..."
"I do get dates! But I've turned most of them down because..." Becky said, not sure if she should reveal her feelings for Charlotte, especially since she just insulted her.
"Because you're you and I'm me." Charlotte said, flipping her hair before walking into the bathroom and slamming the door.
The following day, Ric said his goodbyes and left, feeling like a total failure of a father for not being able to get through to his daughter about her date, but Becky was now fed up with her after last night, "I'm going to pay Andrade a visit right now."
It was the weekend, so Charlotte was able to play along with Becky games, "I'm gonna make it there first!"
Charlotte and Becky squeezed through the door and raced down the hallway before banging on his door, "Can I help you?"
The two young women looked at each other totally confused, but Becky was the first one to speak up, "Who are you?"
"And where is Andrade?" Charlotte said, raising her eyebrows.
Andrade walked up from behind her and opened the door more, "This is my longtime girlfriend, Zelina."
"Now what you do two nobodies want again?" Zelina said, putting her hands on her hips.
Becky was about to expose Andrade and rain on Zelina's parade, but Charlotte covered her mouth, "Nothing! Wrong dorm room."
Becky glared at Charlotte before storming off and Zelina went back inside, which just left Andrade and Charlotte together, giving her a chance to mouth the words, "Screw you!" to him before storming off.
Back at the dorm room shared by Charlotte and Becky there was nothing but chaos, "Why didn't you let me destroy them?!"
Charlotte watched as Becky threw stuff on the floor and against the wall before pulling her down to sit on the sofa, "Shhh, stop, he'll get what's coming to him, and she didn't deserve our help."
"I can't believe he played us both like that, especially you." Becky said, trying to get back up but she held her down.
"Why especially me?" Charlotte said, as she still held on to her arms with a tight grip.
"Because..." Becky said, taking a deep breath before quickly leaning forward to give her an intense kiss on the lips.
Charlotte pulled away, breathing heavily, "What do you think you're doing?!"
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfort-"
"Shhh, that's not what I meant..."
Charlotte then picked up her purse that was still on the sofa and took out some red lipstick, "I need to look my best for our first kiss."
Becky was relieved that she wasn't upset with her about it and seconds later they went straight back to kissing each other. It was like their lips were made for one another. And everybody knows that Becky hates wearing makeup but getting it from Charlotte during a mouth to mouth session is a completely different story. Now they're both glad that things went south with Andrade or whatever his name was, because it lead them to the perfect ending.
