Ready for danger (Stardew Valley)

There were a lot of words that could describe Abigail. Adventurous, stubborn, independent... but certainly not cowardly.
And she intended to keep it that way.
Which was why, on this dark, chilly Spirit's Eve festival, she immediately agreed to go through the giant, spooky maze together with her friends. Sam and Sebastian were there, of course. But there was also Maru, Sebastian's half-sister, eager to come along, in the hopes of getting closer to her sibling.

All in all, the four complimented each other quite nicely. While Sam and Sebastian tried to constantly one-up each other, boasting about how brave they were and how lame this maze was, the girls were mostly having a quiet conversation.
Abigail kept talking about her interest in adventuring and about the monster-infested caves; which, in turn, prompted Maru to speak about her job as a nurse and her scientific inventions. The two had a bit of fun, as they thought up some possible potions or inventions that Maru could create for Abigail. And the latter promised her new friend to deliver some loot to her, once she went down to the caves.
It was a surprisingly pleasant conversation.

What was less pleasant, though, was Abigail's bladder. The purple-haired girl had totally forgotten to relieve herself at home, before visiting this event - and now said bladder was starting to nag her, especially after she had drank a few drinks at the buffet.
It wasn't a big deal, though. Her house was just a few minutes away, so she could always hurry back, if the pressure became too big. But even then her need to pee was still manageable. So, she just ignored it and focused her attention on the maze, instead.
It was nice and creepy, as expected of the wizard who had helped create it. Big, too, as the four were already lost. But the attractions weren't quite frightening, yet. At least not for the boys, as they still kept joking around, while the girls laughed at said jokes.

Unfortunately their playful banter was, rather abruptly, cut short. The boys had been teasing each other for the last minute or so and Sam had just opened his mouth, ready to annoy Sebastian some more, when Maru suddenly started to scream. Loudly. The other three whirled around in alarm... and froze up.
A giant spider was towering over the group, its limbs ready for attack and its mouth wide open. A loud, unholy screech came out of the beast and it was deafening enough to make all of Abigail's hairs stand on end.
All of the boys' bravado seemed to completely dissipate, as they immediately held onto each other for protection, their eyes wide open. Maru, at least, had the mind to take slow, careful steps backwards, as she tried to distance herself from the danger and Abigail... well, she was completely frozen on the spot, her body shutting down in the presence of her biggest phobia.
Nothing else existed for her, other than that cursed spider and her own mind-numbing panic. Even sound had ceased to exist, as she could hear nothing but the blood rushing through her veins.

And then, just as suddenly, said spider lowered its limbs, closed its mouth and became completely still and docile; ready to scare the next visitors. Sam breathed a quiet sigh of relief, before letting out a laugh.
"Oh wow, that's a-... a pretty realistic prop! Could've fooled me!"
"Seriously?! You were holding onto me like a little girl, just now." Sebastian immediately countered, unimpressed. Sam flushed... and then started complaining.
"As if you weren't just as freaked out!"

"...Abigail?"
Maru's curious and slightly concerned voice brought all attention onto the purple-haired girl, who was still pale and frozen in fear. Everyone's eyes widened in shock as they looked at her and it took Abigail a few seconds to figure out why.
Her first clue was her temperature. Despite the air still being chilly, there was a pleasant warmth spreading all over her body... well, the lower half of it, at least. At the same time she could feel the tension slowly leave her, as her bladder finally started to quiet down.

...Wait...

Realization came over her and she gasped in horror. One look down confirmed her worst fears: She was peeing herself. Warm and heavy rivulets were running down both her legs and drenching her pants, until they started to drip. All of this was accompanied by a very audible hiss, that made her flush in shame.
How embarassing... She had always dreamed of being more brave and independent, to fight monsters one day, and yet here she was, wetting herself like a toddler. Over a prop, no less!
And the worst part about this? It... didn't even feel bad. Maybe it was the fact that her brain was still in shock and processing everything, but right now her body felt unusually calm and relieved, as it expelled all of its heavy water.
And there was a lot. All four looked on in stunned silence, as a rather large puddle began to form underneath her feet. A puddle that kept growing for almost a minute, while her steaming piss loudly splattered into it.

Once her bladder had fully emptied itself and her brain finally started working properly again, Abigail shivered violently. Shame, fear and relief were quickly catching up to her and making her feel quite funny and awkward. Heat rapidly spread throughout her body, making her cheeks flush a dark crimson.
And then she felt a soothing hand land on her shoulder.
"Do you... wanna go back? ...Go home, to change?" Maru. Understanding and considerate, as always.
Abigail took a deep, shuddering breath and tried to gather her composure. Her legs and crotch felt impossibly warm. Oddly enough that same warmth was now grounding her, as it calmed down her raw nerves.
"No, I-... I'm fine. Let's continue."
"You sure?" Sam's voice. Also understanding. Abigail just nodded in response.
It was fine. She was fine. This was just a minor setback. A phobia that she would have to get over, one day, if she wanted to be a true adventurer. This was... nothing.

The group eventually continued their walk through this giant maze, though no one was speaking much. Especially not Abigail, as she kept looking down at her own legs. Thankfully the stains were barely visible on her dark pants and in this barely illuminated place. But the warmth was still lingering, as a constant reminder of her accident.
You're not ready for danger, it seemed to warn her, its voice strangely similar to her father's.
She quickly shook her head, clearing away all thoughts, before focusing her attention back on the maze.
