Not a Cuddle

Enid was afraid, and Wednesday supposed she could understand why. She had heard of the horrors a werewolf must go through to reach their animalistic self, and while Wednesday herself would normally be curious of the extremities a body could go through to change, the idea of Enid hurting just felt… erroneous at best.

Wednesday had taken it upon herself to call home; to have her Grandmother send a homemade concoction with their chauffeur, something made and not yet for public consumption; which should make the change much less of a bloody affair. Enid took the potion with gratitude and ease, which made Wednesday remember to add survival skills to their list of topics to discuss, after this was all over, of course.

Now, the moon was ready to breach the sky, glowing ethereally against the dull blue sky. Enid was leant against their window, and Wednesday considered why her breath caught in her throat, but decided it was excitement, despite her feeling nothing but dread.

"Are you ready?" She asked, and Enid laughed miserably.

"No! I'm terrified, I don't feel any different, what if I hurt you?! I should go to the lycan cages, or-"

Wednesday grabbed her chin and made her look up, stood over her with a disapproving stare at her emotion.

"You could hurt me if you tried, lupa. We discussed this."

It was true, Wednesday had grown up around lycans, and frequently played the role of bait during many family events. Of course, she had refrained from all the gory details of those encounters, deciding Enid didn't need to know which cousin had scarred her back many moons ago. It would make for uncomfortable conversation for when she decides to court Enid, which she wouldn't mind, but knew the wolf would rather ignore.

"Right, your horrifying tales of youth, how could I forget?"

Wednesday shrugged and stepped away, and something in Enid's skin roared at the lost contact.

"They were positively vulgar, I appreciate the ferocity of wolves greatly. You are… a fantastic beast, Enid."

Enid didn't see the small blush working up her cheeks, didn't have to either, as she forced her capillaries to resist exposure of her emotion, to which her body quickly agreed. She was midway through this second long process when a strange sound made her whirl around.

"What was that?" She asked, and Enid made it again, it was… it was unacceptable to hear coming from her as Enid's shoulders shook with barely contained tears, glassy eyes meeting hers for a moment before dams burst.

Normally Wednesday would find the sight disgusting, but now she felt utter shame in herself for letting this happen.

The moon was almost crescenting now.

"I'm scared."

The words were released in a sniffle, and before Wednesday knew it she was kneeling before her, wrapping her in the tightest hug imaginable. Enid didn't wait a second, hugging her back with more strength than a human should withstand, but was nothing to Wednesday and her fun biology. The Heiress gripped with even more ferocity, hissing words of comfort in her wolf's ear.

"You are brave," Enid whimpered, "you are strong. You are… you are wonderful. You are everything that is right with this world with the capacity to destroy it. You captivate me Enid, you're more valiant than you know."

A creak came from Enid's chest, and Wednesday felt as though it had shot her too.

"I'm not letting go." She swore, and Enid shook again.

"I could… hurt you…" the wolf grunted, and Wednesday shook her head against Enid's neck.

"You couldn't if you tried. It's not in your nature il mio lupa."

Enid held right as her body broke apart, and Wednesday stuck to her word, even as Enid screamed, her body shifting faster thanks to the potion, with less pain, but how much pain could be taken from bones snapping and being remade.

Wednesday decided she hated werewolf transformations, only when it happened to Enid.

Eventually she was forced to her feet, still holding onto the wolf's now huge neck as it stood and finally settled its whimpers of pain, a forelon howl slipping from its teeth. The wolf looked around the room, unsure as to what to do, when it finally smelt Wednesday on its front. It looked down, finding the top of her head in the same position, holding on impossibly tight.

The wolf was bemused at the sight, a growl rumbling in her chest, before the head snapped back and black eyes bore into her own.

"Be nice."

The wolf sat back almost instantly, a crack from the window not noticed by either of them. The creature lay down, holding the other girl close.

"It's late," Wednesday announced, "do you want to go hunt? Or sleep?"

Sleep sounded good. She picked the human up and trotted to the dark bed sheets, dropping the human who didn't have time to complain before a colossal wolf lay across her. Wednesday sighed as the huge head rested across her chest, deciding there are worse situations to be in as the inevitable warmth from the creature mixed with the gentle snoring lulled her into a similar state.

Hours passed by, and Enid had changed back in her sleep. Thing dragged a blanket over her to keep her warm, but otherwise left the two be, as even Wednesday had slept through her internal alarm. Just as the sun began to rise, Yoko made her way into the dorm to quietly check on her best friend, and whether or not she had to hide her roommate's body.

Imagine her surprise to find the two of them cuddled together, barely a breath of space between them. Enid had her head rested on Wednesday's chest, and the Addams had her in a tight grip, matched by Enid.

Rolling her eyes to herself, Yoko took a photo for blackmail purposes and left the two alone, a glass of water the only sign of her being there.
