Girl in red
Summary
Eula didn't like cafes, but her family was something she liked even less. Meeting them at the Cat's Tail was probably one of the worst events in a long time. But the waitress from there stayed in her mind for some days in a postive way and Eula was more than happy to see her again just a few days later.

Eula woke up in a dark room that contained very little decoration, plain brown furniture, and a dark blue rug in the middle of the room. The only source of light came from the large windows to Eula's left.

It was still dark outside and the reason was clear as soon as the woman looked at the clock on her nightstand.

It was 6 a.m. and still she had to get up even though it was Saturday. She had a family reunion at Cat's Tail, the local cafe.

Eula hated cafes. First, the constant noise around her. Second, the amount of people in near distance to her. And third, if she would eat in such a place, most of the time, she would have company.

Her family did not make the event better, but rather worse. It was not for nothing that they were the most disliked clan in all of Mondstadt.

But it was Eula's birthday a while ago and they wanted to throw a little party for her. But probably just for reputation.

Their relationship has always been... problematic. The woman with the ice-blue hair tried to avoid any contact with her family. It worked most of the time, but birthdays and Christmas were exceptions. One of the reasons why she hated holidays.

She quickly showered and dressed, already knowing that her family would judge her for the way she dressed. She even arrived at the Cat's Tail 10 minutes before the scheduled time and still the first people Eula could see when she entered the cafe were her father, uncle and aunt.

They didn't talk much, except about the subject the knight had already anticipated: the way she dresses.

Eula was glad when the waitress finally came, a wide smile on her face as she happily asked the family what each of them would like to eat.

While her father ordered directly, he cared little about the "ladies first" rule or any type decency towards his relatives.

This time the tall woman didn't mind. She was kind of glad to have a moment to look, rather stare, at the girl dressed in red. She had beautiful cinnamon colored hair and even more beautiful hazel eyes.

Eula only realized she was staring when the brunette turned to her and asked what she would like to have. She decided to only ordered a coffee as she didn't feel like eating in front of her family.

When the encounter was finally over, the blue-haired went straight back to her apartment. She took a break from work today, but now she regretted it since she had nothing to do.

She stared into space and started thinking about the waitress again. Eula could swear she'd seen her before. But definitely not in this cafe full of cats.

One thing she knew for sure though: she wanted to see that waitress again. Even if that meant she had to go to Cat's Tail more often.

And she did. On Monday morning she headed to the cafe instead of to the Headquarters of the Knights of Favonius. She just wanted to grab a coffee to go as she didn't want to stay there that long since her only reason for getting there in the first place was to see the brunette again.

Unfortunately, the girl didn't also work behind the counter. However, Eula didn't schedule enough time to sit down, so she had to face reality and walk out of the Cat's Tail without seeing the person she was looking for.

Nothing unusual happened during her working day. She had a meeting with Kaeya, the Cavalry Captain. Everything went well and now the knight only had to buy a few ingredients from the Good Hunter.

When she got there, she surprisingly ran into a familiar face. And as soon as the person turned around, the blue-haired could see that wide smile again.
The person Eula had been thinking about all day was now standing in front of her and waving at her nicely.

"Hey, you're the waitress from the Cat's Tail, aren't you?" the tall girl asked, but of course she was more than sure it was her.

“Oh yes, but I only work there on weekends. You work for the Knights of Favonius too, right?" she asked, still smiling happily.

Wait, as well? Was that where Eula had known her from?

"Um, yeah. You also work there?” she replied, unable to hide her confusion.

“Yes, I work there as an Outrider. I see you talking to Kaeya sometimes. But don't worry, it's okay if you haven't seen me,” she said, and now the taller girl could remember.

She had seen her once when Kaeya became the Cavalry Captain. It was a few months ago and the Outrider only congratulated Kaeya so Eula couldn't recognize her last Saturday.

"I'm Amber, by the way," the hazel-eyed girl informed Eula.
"I'm Eula... you probably already knew that, sorry," she responded in an awkward way. But Amber just giggled.

After this brief conversation, they parted ways again. But the next weekend, Eula tried to visit the little cafe across the street once more. And this time she was lucky enough to meet the Outrider again.

"Hey, what brings you here? The last time you were here you seemed a bit.. annoyed”, the blue-haired knew that it was difficult for Amber to say that.
"It was just my family, don't worry. I, uh, I like cats.” Eula tried to deny that she was there because of the cute waitress who was standing right in front of her.

"Me too! They're the cutest, aren't they?” the brunette replied. Afterwards she asked the knight if she would like coffee, and even tho she wouldn't admit it, she was more than happy that Amber remembered her order from last week and brought it to her only a few moments later.

When Eula lifted the cup to drink some of her order, she found a small piece of paper with a phone number written on it and under it "Call me if you want".

And of course she took the offer and called the Outrider that same evening.
