Matildas amongst the Lionesses (FA Women's Cup Final 2022)

"Greenwood."

Alex Greenwood tucked her silver medal under her jersey as she turned toward the voice.

"Kerr," she said. "Good match."

"I think so," Sam agreed with a faint smile. Chelsea were on the other side of the tunnel, passing the Cup around, kissing it, probably filling it with lager. "I won't take up too much of your time. Can I borrow Kennedy for a few minutes? Or did you have something to discuss with her?"

"Bronze is going to give me enough of a fight," Alex muttered. "I'd rather not have to deal with her and Kennedy."

"Welcome to being a captain," Kerr said wryly. "I'll handle Alanna if you want. At least Carter's not my business." Sam was Australia's captain after all. Not Chelsea's.

"Go on then," Alex nodded. "Kennedy, grab your things and come here."

Alanna did as she was told, appearing in the doorway behind Alex a moment later. She winced at the sight of Sam standing there, arms folded.

"Yellow card, Kennedy?" Sam asked.

Any illusion that Sam was there to make sure she was feeling alright evaporated, and she nodded meekly, eyes downcast.

"Sorry, M-I mean, Sam," she said anxiously. Sam opened her arms to Alanna, and the younger girl fled to her embrace, glad to be wrapped up safely in Sam's arms even for a little while.

"Shhh, Joey," Sam murmured as she walked Alanna back down the tunnel. "You're okay. It's going to be okay. But we do have to take care of it."

"Where?" Alanna asked doubtfully. "I don't belong in there." She nodded to Chelsea's lockers.

"You're with me, Joey," Sam said reassuringly, squeezing Alanna's shoulder. "Stay close now." She tucked Alanna close to her side as they stepped into Chelsea's lockers, the main room alight with singing, chanting, and beer flowing.

Magdalena Eriksson was not joining in the celebrating. The Swede had Jess Carter by the arm, bending the younger girl over her thigh for a brisk but thorough smacking within sight of the door. Jess yelped, but she knew better than to squirm away, blushing with shame as she caught sight of Sam and Alanna.

"Brought me another naughty little girl, have you, Kerr?" Magda asked.

"This one's mine, Captain," Sam replied, quietly but firmly.

Magda smirked and nodded. "Alright then. Plenty of room for us both."

Alanna blushed bright red at the implication. "Can't we do this in private?" she pleaded.

"I don't see why you would need to, little one. You fouled in public," Magda replied before Sam could speak. "Come on then, Kerr. Give your brat the smacking she deserves where anyone can see her. It's only fair."

Alanna let out a mewling whine. "Mummy!"

"Magda makes the rules here, Alanna," Sam said. "Be a good girl for Mummy, it won't take long if you're good."

Alanna sniffled. Sam seated herself on the bench opposite Magda's, taking Alanna over her lap properly. Alanna drummed her feet on the bench, but didn't otherwise protest further as Sam began spanking her on the seat of her skirt.

It was, she reflected, a good thing she'd changed already so Sam knew she didn't have her support in.

When Alanna had taken a dozen smacks over her skirt - not very hard, through the warm wool - Sam raised Alanna's skirt in back, revealing her shorts. She gave Alanna a second round of swats, another dozen which were felt much more keenly.

"Owww, Mummy," Alanna whimpered, sniffling hard.

"Mummy knows, Joey," Sam said, soothing Alanna with a gentle pat on her back. "Mummy's here, sweetheart. Almost done now, my good girl."

Whining softly, Alanna obediently raised her hips so Sam could slide her shorts down. Her bottom was already fairly pink, and another six smacks on her bare bottom made Alanna wriggle and kick a bit. "Sorry, sorry I got carded, Mummy, sorry I was a bad girl," she wept.

Sam picked Alanna up, righting her clothing and cuddling her. "Shhh, baby girl, Mummy's Joey, it's alright, it's all alright now, sweetheart," she promised. "You're okay, Alanna, my good girl. All forgiven."

Alanna snuggled into Sam's arms, sighing dreamily as Sam kissed her forehead. "M'gonna be better," she promised sleepily.

"I know," Sam assured her. "I love you, sweetheart."

"Love you too, Mummy." Alanna snuggled into Sam's arms, drifting off to sleep.
