Wedding/Coronation

Wedding/Coronation

It was a huge day today. The most significant day. It was such a day for two ladies in particular, with one fidgeting so much it looks like she’s on her way to making an earthquake. Also, her face was that of joy and anxiety. If one were to look at it, then it would be deemed a strange combo to actually see.

Then there was a knock, making Charlie jump and rush immediately over to a curtain to hide in a rush of panic. “Who’s there!?”

“It’s just me. Vaggie. I thought about checking up on you. Sure, Angel offered to do it but I wanted to do it myself.”

The hellborn princess was a little worried but then reasoned that she’s hiding right now so it’s all right. “I guess you can come in! But I’m hiding behind the curtains!”

The doors opened, the moth demoness being all confused as she entered. Then she seemed to realize what was going on. “Oh, that ‘don’t-see-the-bride’ thing. Sorry, sweetie, I didn’t mean to do that to you. I can just leave now if it's making you too *."

There was some shaking where Charlie’s head should be, letting the pink x-eyed girl know exactly where she is.

“No, no! It’s okay! As long as you don’t actually see me, it should be okay.”

“And you’re sure that hiding behind the curtains won’t ruin anything about your dress, hon? Or your hair?”

“Sure, I’m sure! Besides, I’m sure that I’ll wear it out anyway. You know, when I get the chance to dance, or when I cut the cake, or when we pass out the party favors!”

Vaggie chuckled, leaning against the wall close to Charlie. Then, “yeah, it’ll be. We just need to find some way from boredom striking when we get that speech before the 'I do's'.”

“Oh, it won’t be so bad. We have each other to look at to pass the time!”

The moth demoness had blushed a furious one and needed a second to collect herself. “What I’m really worried about is that Angel will do something annoying or even crazy. I mean, we’re having the coronation right after the wedding ceremony. It’s gonna take a long time and there’s Cherri, too. She’s way too similar to Angel. That's probably why they’re friends, but still.”

"Come on, Vaggie, we should have a little bit more faith in our friends. We knew them for long time, right?"

“Yes, you're right. It's just... well, I have no idea how Angel and Cherri are like at weddings, that’s why. I just want our wedding to be perfect. All of it, not just the party after the vows and the kiss.”

“Don’t worry, Vaggie. It’ll be fine! I’m confident that Angel and Cherri will recognize that this is important to us. At least, for their friends, they’ll behave during a huge event.”

Vaggie was still skeptical but, then again, that was her. It’s not like she was able to live a life where she just… places trust so easily like that. Sure, like Charlie said, she actually knows Angel and Cherri to some capacity now but this is still a lot more trust than the moth demoness herself can place in them at this point of time.

The pink x-eyed girl cracked a wry smile, inquiring, “You really think it won’t turn into some big disaster? Either by our friends or any of the other guests?”

“Yes, but it’s not just because I have faith in our friends. There's all of the special planning and preparation we did to make this party the best one ever. The long wait is why we went out of our way to go all out for the big celebration. It’ll be worth it to everyone when we’re finally married and when the coronation is over.”

“And any problems that’s because of someone?”

“Then we’ll take it on together. Come on, Vaggie, another thing you should know by now is that we’re a team!”

Vaggie was still floored sometimes by Charlie’s sunny-bright optimism and cheery confidence. She recalled a little back to her life, when she was still with her last girlfriend. It… wasn’t really a happy time.

Days of having to come home just to see the girlfriend eating most of the food, just barely leaving her some and claiming it to just help her stay in good figure. Arguments, both about major things and minor ones, turning into sex if that woman could make it happen. Then there were the prejudiced men who believed they could get the lesbian couple to love dick, since it’s already their business to suck it and all.

The moth demoness immediately shifted her mind away from memories of that. The last thing she wants is ruin the wedding day herself by thinking about or recalling things that shouldn’t matter anymore. Things that never cease to hurt no matter what.

And to think, the pink x-eyed girl had bothering staying with that piece of work she called a lover because she felt alone. Any family Vaggie’s ever had been left behind or had done the abandoning themselves.

Finally, Charlie had snapped Vaggie out of her thoughts by asking, “You nervous about being queen?”

The sinner of the two hummed. “I guess a little bit. But you would tell me to not worry about it, wouldn’t you?”

“Well, yeah. Of course, I would! You don’t have to worry, Vaggie. You’re so protective and caring and fierce. You never give up for what’s right. That’s exactly what people need in a queen.

“And you are caring, too, but in a gentle, sympathetic way. And you’re also determined to do what’s right. That’s how I know you would be a wonderful queen, too.”

“What? No way, you’re important, too!”

“But you’re more important.”

“And I’m telling you-"

“Nuh-uh-uh. We’re going to go on a loop of this just because you won't take the compliment and really, I don’t want the wedding canceled over that. So you should just accept and feel beautiful."

"Only if you feel beautiful, too!"

There was a fondly-exaggerated sigh first. "Okay, fine. Deal."

The red-eyed blonde giggled and laughed, the curtains bobbing and shifting to the movements. The moth demoness thought of adding some more to the conversation until someone had knocked on the doors.

“Vaggie! I know you’re in there! And I know you know that you shouldn’t see our daughter just yet! You simply can’t keep your dainty, little hands to yourself, can you?"

“Yes, in anything, I should be escorting our precious, little girl down the aisle straight into your dainty, grubby hands!”

The pink x-eyed girl had on a wry, slightly troubled smile and said, “Well, I don’t think I should keep your parents waiting. I’ll be waiting at the altar.”

“Yeah, and I’ll be seeing you there.”

There was some more shifting until a gloved hand came out. Vaggie grasped it with her own gloved hand. A bit of squeeze between them and then the two brides split up. Obviously, just for now.

And sure enough, it was a grand, beautiful event. The grand hall where the events were taking place was in a grand hall of unions, commonly used by all kinds of upper-class demons for their upper-class weddings. It was as tall as six stories. Flawless ebony marble pillars with garlands of ember-emitting red roses twirling around them (thank goodness for the fire precautions taken beforehand!). Sparkling chandeliers made from the best cut of diamonds and crystals, hanging from above.

All in all, it was deemed perfect for both a wedding and a coronation.

The moth demoness was in her wedding gown, big and voluminous with plenty of layers. All over the skirt of the dress were faint glimmering decals of moths and the Morningstar family symbol, which can detected if one looks closely enough. The gloves and veil were of similar design and a white choker decorated with a purple gem in the middle, the gem resembling vaguely of an apple. As for the torso of the gown, it was simple and without straps.

Then the organ player was playing ‘Here Comes the Bride’ and everyone turned to the front doors. They all watched the currently princess of Hell go down the aisle with her hands around her father’s arms. The onlookers were impressed with what they saw, although the pink x-eyed girl was the most enamored.

The rosie-cheeked blonde was in a soft pink tuxedo with matching oxford shoes. There were various kinds of little details to make it. Little details such as the glittering lapels, the apple-shaped ruby cufflinks, the apple blossom corsage, and the sheer black tie with a clear sheen.

It wasn’t long before both brides were face-to-face with each other. They just barely noticed Lucifer Morningstar taking position to officially wed his daughter and daughter-in-law, particularly as plenty of sobbing can be heard even if it's mostly from one section in the audience.

Behind the king was the impenetrable glass dome containing Charlie’s crown, the one used to mark Charlie’s new reign on Hell and Lucifer’s official retirement. Although that’s not the forefront of neither Charlie nor Vaggie’s minds right now. After all, the wedding ceremony is what’s coming first.

Besides, the pair of brides didn’t really want to stress themselves thinking about what the coronation means when the wedding binding hasn't even been done yet.
