Chapter Ten
Harry had been released long after dinner had finished, but with enough time to get to Gryffindor Tower before curfew. Elecmon had stayed with him and kept himself perched on Harry’s head, making his hair almost rival Tai’s.
‘’Hey Harry?’’
‘’Hmm?’’
‘’What’s a…ball..room class?’’
Before Harry could even contemplate where his partner had heard that phrase before, a very loud clap of thunder and the air was filled with various screams. Whirling around, Harry nearly fainted as the rest of the digidestined team appeared in a flash, falling to the ground.
‘’Oh No! Hurry!’’

‘’IZZY! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GROUND?!’’ Joe screamed, muffled by the rush of the wind around them. Gomamon desperately clung to Joe’s abdomen, burying his face into his chest. ‘’I don’t wanna die, JOE!”
‘’MISCALCULATIONS!”
Tentomon grasped Izzy’s forearm, but the teen was much heavier now than when they had first met. Izzy struggled against the wind, hoping that Sora would hear him, or possibly Yolei!
‘’We…have….to…digivolve everyone!’’

Sora had caught the last bit and knew that if they all digivolved their partners, it could save their lives, but she knew it would be hard for their partners to let them go. Tears glistening in her eyes, Sora unclenched her fingers from Biyomon’s grasp and smiled.
‘’Go for it!’’
‘’SORA!”
In a burst of light and fire, Biyomon disappeared with a mighty cry of Birdramon ringing through the air. Seeing Sora and Biyomon, Yolei took a breath, pulling Hawkmon close for a moment and throwing the startled digimon up into the free air.
‘’You too, Hawkmon!’’
‘’I’m not a pigeon!’’

Curfew be damned, Harry had practically sprinted out of an open window-Elecmon barely hanging on as they rolled onto the courtyard, before righting themselves and racing towards the falling digi-destined.

The commotion had startled nearly everyone out of their bedtime routines, including the professors.
‘’I heard an explosion!’’
‘’This way!’’
‘’Students, out of bed! Ge’ back to yer dorms!’’
The mass of students quickly shoved their way out into the courtyard, followed by the unwilling professors. Tai and Matt were quickly shoving their way towards the front, uncaring of who was shoved and who was moving before they were shoved.
‘’Get back, you two! Oh!’’
‘’Not now Dumbledore!’’
The two digi-destined shoved Dumbledore out of the way, only to step back into the crowd as Birdramon touched down, Sora on her foot as usual. Next came Yolei, Ken, and Wormmon on Halsemon’s back. Kabuterimon landed a few feet away, startling some of the Hogwarts students. Izzy and Mimi popped up from Kabuterimon’s open hands. Flamedramon landed shakily with Davis in his arms before devolving back into Veemon.
‘’Ah! Veemon! Give me some warning!’’
‘’Davis! You’re crushing me!’’
Scrambling off of his partner, Davis extended a hand out towards him, pulling him up.
Cody and Digmon landed easily, the large digimon tucking his wings back into his shell before devolving back into his rookie form. ‘’It sure is nice here, ain’t it Cody?’’
Cody smiled and nodded, moving to join the other digidestined.
‘’Hey you guys!’’
Tai ran up to his team, Matt, TK and Kari joining them.
‘’Hey where’s Joe?’’
‘’OVER HERE!” Harry called. A half dozen eyes trailed across to find Harry and Elecmon pulling Joe and Gomamon out of the lake.
‘’Aw come on Joe, how was I supposed to know my fighting fishes works on giant squids?’’
Joe sighed and shook his head, smiling at his partner all the while.
‘’Thanks Harry,’’
Harry blushed but nodded.
‘’Mister Kamiya, Mister Potter, please join us in the great Hall once you’ve all composed yourself,’’ McGonagall spoke, already ushering the massive hoard of Hogwarts students and guests back into the castle.

‘’How’d you guys fix the portals?’’ Matt asked, passing another bowl of hot soup towards Joe.
Izzy looked down, biting his lip before scrunching his eyebrows in confusion, ‘’I didn’t…I mean, one minute Tentomon and I were working and then, we got pulled into the portal,’’
‘’Veemon and I were playing video games at home!’’ Davis interjected through a mouthful of chicken.
‘’We were working at my family’s store!’’
‘’Wormmon and I were on our way home-I think we passed by a telephone?’’
Kari’s eyes widened. So the only one who was near a computer was Izzy? Everyone else was pulled into the network here through other means?

Severus watched the group of digidestined, his heart clenched tightly at the thought of his own team. They had been good, had tried to do good, and in the end-for what? He was the only one left. Severus and Pawnchessmon; he wished it didn’t have to be them. He wished it didn’t have to be any of these kids, especially Harry.
Harry, who had already been through so much during his life already, now had to deal with this. Still, Severus knew there was nothing he could do at the moment. He simply had to wait and keep watch, as Pawnchessmon was doing. He would know when the right time to strike was. He could only hope he was not too late.

‘’Tom, Tom, Tom, how long are you going to stall?’’
‘’That is not my name, you pathetic wraith,’’
Astamon smirked, did this little human think him nothing more than a wraith? His lips curled back, showcasing a mouthful of fangs, ‘’I’m so much more than a wraith, Tom….certainly more than you,’’
Sinking back into the shadows, Astamon smiled, while keeping watch on the pathetic human. At least, part one of his plan was complete, now he had to wait for the chance to strike the match.
