CHAPTER 2
It's been weeks since Ling moved away, she spend most of her time locked in her room, studying in advance since she doesn't have new friends in her new place.
One day, Ling's mother told her to buy some groceries in the supermarket and gave the list to her.
As Ling went to the supermarket, she kept thinking about Zyanya, did she miss her? Did she look for her? Should she feel guilty for not telling Zyanya that she was moving away? The Chinese woman was lost in her thoughts that she bumped into someone, Ling mumbled an apology then she looked at the person, It's a woman, probably the same age as her. "Hey it's okay" the woman replied to her apology. "I'm Sunwoo, I'm from Korea, but my friends call me Jett" Sunwoo introduced herself, offering a handshake.
"oh uhm... I'm Ling, I'm from China but I grew up here in America most of my life. You can call me Sage" Ling replied, accepting her handshake. "I haven't seen you around here, are you from another state?" Sunwoo asked, "I came from California" Ling replied.
"I can be your first friend!" The Korean exclaimed, smiling at her, Ling was confused, Sunwoo wasn't making fun of her like Zyanya did to her when she first met her. She was now in North Carolina, maybe people here are nicer than she thinks.
'I'd love that" Ling smiled, for the first time in months. "Where are you going? I can give you a tour" The Korean suggested. "I'm going to the supermarket, my mom told me to buy groceries" Ling replied
"Can I come with you? I'd like to get to know you better" Sunwoo asked. "Sure" Ling agreed, the two women walk towards the supermarket, when they arrived, Ling took a shopping cart and began putting the things her mom wants her to buy while Sunwoo is walking beside her and sometimes helping her.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask you about this, which school are you going to attend?" The white haired femaled asked. "Oh... just a local school, Kingdom Academy" Ling replied, she could see Sunwoo's eyes sparkled "No way! I'm attending there too alongside with my friends! I'll introduce you to them soon!" Sunwoo exclaimed in excitement, The chinese sighed in relief that she won't be alone in her first day.
Ling finally is at the cashier, paying for the items, Sunwoo offered to walk her home since it's late afternoon, Ling was enjoying her company, it's not like with Zyanya who always bully her.
Ling arrived at her home, she bid goodbye to Sunwoo, but before the korea left, they exchanged numbers.
Ling was happy that she made a friend.
That night, Ling and Sunwoo spend their time talking to each other on the phone and eventually Sunwoo added Ling to her friend group chat.
At first Ling was too shy to talk to them, Sunwoo reassured her that they are nice people. Later, Ling finally talk to them, there she met Klara (Killjoy), Tayane (Raze), Ryo (Yoru), Jamie (Phoenix) and Tala (Neon).
Sunwoo was right, they are good people. Ling ended up telling these people she just met on how she was treated by her childhood friend. They were mad at Zyanya but they were glad that Ling moved away.
Then Klara suggested that they should meet up tomorrow, Ling was hesistant at first but then she agreed since these people are going to the same school as her, this might be a chance to socialize with others.
Ling checked the clock, it was now 2 in the morning, she must have lost track of time, she bid her new friends goodnight as she drifted herself to sleep, feeling happy for once in a while.
The next day, the chinese woman woke up and check her phone, Klara texted her to meet up at 1 in the afternoon. Ling texted back that she'll see them later, it was still 9 in the morning, she place her phone back in the desk and stared at the ceiling. Has life began to get better? She thought to herself, she still misses Zyanya but cutting her off in her life is the best choice for Ling. The chinese woman had attempted to kill herself several times due to Zyanya's bullying.
She hugged her pillow tightly, burying her face on the soft object "Zyanya..." she whispered "I miss you" she muffled, Zyanya may be a bully to her but she has strong feelings for her,of course, she didn't told her new friends about that.
Ling fell asleep again, she was dreaming about the mexican, Reyna was asking for forgiveness in her dream, Ling smiled in her sleep, oh how she wishes that Zyanya will apologize to her in real life.
Meanwhile, Zyanya just woke up, it was 6 am in California. She groaned as she got up, ever since Ling left, Zyanya was beginning to realize what type of person she was to her childhood friend. She couldn't talk to Ling on her social medias since the Chinese woman blocked her.
She wanted to apologize to Ling, Zyanya asked her younger sister, Lucia, if she knows where Ling went since her sister is good friends with her.
Lucia said no and stated that she is worried about Ling because the chinese woman would always tell her her problems or what's happening to her. Zyanya's heart sank.
She knew she fucked up and has to make it up to Ling.
