Chapter 3
It was the day after the pair's outing together and Ganyu felt like she was going to cry. She failed to establish she wanted to go on a date with someone, and didn't even clarify it was a date, on the date! She felt like a fool and now she had to see her again completely professionally, and with no romantic feelings involved.
She walked into her office and sat down, staring at the mound of paperwork, surely placed there by someone else in her department. 'Ganyu's the most efficient on the team and willing to stay behind and do overtime, let's dump all our work on her!' Seemed to be the mindset of almost everyone in her office, except for one but she didn't want to think about her anymore.
"Morning Ganyu," a voice coming from the door calmly said. Why was Keqing still being so warm, nothing awkward in her demeanor? She remembered what Cloud Retainer said, how she would still treat her with respect, but, she was never this friendly, to greet her at the door, yelling it out in front of the whole office, just courteous during the day. Perhaps she thought she had gained a friend over the previous day's encounter, not taking the hint when Ganyu told her so bluntly they should leave. All time spent with Keqing was lovely, but being just friends would be too hard on her heart.
"Morning," Ganyu replied quietly. Keqing strolled past her and, her hair was different. She used to always have hair just hanging down her back but today, it was pinned up like... cat ears? How odd. Keqing reached her desk and turned to Ganyu, feeling her eyes on her. She noticed the staring at her hair,
"I remembered what you said yesturday, how you think your horns make you stand out, so I thought if I looked like a cat you wouldn't feel less alone. Of course if you don't think it looks good or if you find it offensive in some way-"
"It's beautiful and so are you. Will you please for archons sake go on a proper date with me." It just slipped out but Rex, if she didn't she probably would've combusted under the pressure.
"I thought after that fiasco of how yesturday ended, you would be too scared to ever ask again, yes of course I will!"
