Teenagers in a weird mv prison, crazy, I know.
Summary
The new prisoners of Milgram begin their trials. But some of them may or may not be familiar with the new Guard, a grey haired amnesiac by the name of Es.(Read the notes for more details, please. It's important.)
Note
Okay so, some things I'd like y'all to keep in mind:1. The Es here and the Es on Milgram are NOT the same, hence the different pronouns and descriptions. (It's a canon character, you can probably guess who it is but it's not Es.)2. Milgram and Project Sekai's universes are the same universe, this is in the future, when the canon Milgram has already ended.3. That being said, the characters here are not going to be exactly like their Milgram counterparts (ex: Mizuki is not going to be like Amane)4. The only two units that have not formed are MORE MORE JUMP! and Leo/need. VBS, WxS and N25 are formed already with their SEKAIs also existent.5. Ooc warning! (Update: 28/2/25) EXTREMELY FOR SOME CHARACTERS AND ESPECIALLY IN EARLY CHAPTERS. Later chapters have me trying to fix the ooc to the best of my abilities bare w/ me)

"Hello? Ena?"

Fuuta answered the phone indifferently. Ena hadn't called him in months but it's not like he called either.

"Fuuta, hi. Good to see you haven't disappeared again." Ena said sarcastically over the phone.

Oh right, that again. Fuuta hadn't told neither Akito nor Ena about what happened when he was gone. None of it, MILGRAM, the end of the first trial, their escape, none of it.

In his defense, they hadn't had much of a chance to talk either. After leaving the prison for good he had shut himself inside his apartment for a couple of months until Kazui and Shidou dragged him out.

Even then he'd only seen Ena like 2 times and the only thing they could do is exchange numbers again after he'd changed his. Aside from that and the occasional happy birthday message for both her and Akito's birthdays, they didn't talk at all.

"Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny, Ena. What do you want?"

Ena scoffed, muttering for a bit as if trying to find the correct wording for whatever she wanted to ask of him. "Mom... She wants to see you."

"HUH?!" Fuuta was flabbergasted, dumbfounded even. He took a bit to process it. He wondered why their mom didn't just ask Ena for his number and talk to him herself, or why she didn't say anything until now, but then let out a tired sigh, it was better not to even think about it. "Of course she does... When?"

"As soon as possible." Ena replied nonchalantly.

"No way. Give me at least a week." Fuuta was not going to accept that on such short notice, no matter what or who.

"Nope. You're coming today. I don't care what you have to do. Don't come home though, meet Akito and I at school."

"I'M NOT DOING THAT, ENA. NO WAY." He yelled over the phone, Ena shushed him.

"See you at 3, Fuuta."

"I actually cannot believe I'm doing this." Fuuta mumbled along with several curses under his breath as he walked up the entrance of his siblings' high school. "Do they think I don't know the way to my own childhood home or something?"

"Well, if you visited from time to time, we'd see." Ena appeared in front of him, going past the school gates calmly, probably expecting Fuuta to follow her.

"Wait-! Why are we going in, Ena?! Can't Akito just come outside himself?!" He ran out to catch up. "Also, why did you tell me to come here?! I know how to get to the house, it's not like you need to guide me there like I'm some lost child."

Ena walked into the building, holding the door open for him to walk in as well. "You'll see, you impatient redhead."

Without a word, the two Shinonomes headed towards the end of a large hallway, passing through empty classrooms with nothing on the chairs and tables except for some backpacks in certain classes.

Ena opened the two big doors and pushed Fuuta in, sneakily locking them inside. Fuuta did not seem to notice this though, focusing instead on the fact that he'd been unknowingly tricked.

They were in what he assumed to be the school's large auditorium, around 20 people, maybe more (some with differently clothes from the Kamikou uniform) there were some doing sound checks, some other's, up in the stage, and some others doing some other things Fuuta could not even bother paying attention to.

Akito was there, in fact he was probably there against his own will considering how pissed off he looked as a blond haired guy yelled loudly on a stage. Or maybe it was the dark blue haired girl and purple haired guy chasing a malfunctioning robot.

"Ena. What the fuck is this." Fuuta didn't even wait to hear his sister's answer, instead choosing to turn around and leave.

However, the door was locked.

"Open the door, Ena."

Ena laughed sarcastically. "No."

"OPEN THE DOOR!"

"NO!"

"Could you two stop now? I don't want Toya's first impression of you to be this." Akito took the key from Ena's hand, tossing it to Airi, who was watching the siblings from afar.

"Hey, Fuuta." He greeted him with a bit of awkwardness.

"Are you in on this?! What even is this?!" Fuuta tried to open the locked door one more time before giving up.

"School play, basically. And don't blame us, blame Yoisaki's friend." Akito pointed at Kanade and...

"Oh fuck no. Not them again."

Ena and Akito both looked a bit confused, wondering why that random person Kanade just so happened to know was such a nuisance to Fuuta.

",,,do you know them?"

"Uhh... Long story, Ena. Very long and very painful story."

Akito rested his left hand on Fuuta's shoulder.

"Fuuta... How did your eye... Get like that?" He asked, hiding the very obvious concern in a nonchalant tone like the three siblings always did.

Fuuta stammered for a bit. "Uh. I fell. You could say. Pretty fucking cool fall." He could feel his younger siblings' skepticism towards his weird excuse already.

Luckily, neither of them questioned it.

Fuuta still had no clue of what the hell he was doing inside an auditorium, or why the hell Es was there.

"Ena, Akito, explain. What's going on? Weren't we going home?"

Akito stared at Ena in disappointment. "What did you tell him to get him here, Ena?"

Ena chuckled. "Nothing, relax. Just that mom wanted to see him and that it had to be today."

Akito facepalmed. "Y'know what? Whatever, as long as he doesn't somehow unlock the door, I don't care." He said, deadpanned. Fuuta looked at him in disbelief that he'd be in on such foul play against him.

"Back to your question though. We're doing a school play, both Miyajou and Kamikou are participating, and Ena dragged Kanade here."

Akito and Ena started bickering like they always did, debating on whether or not she had actually "dragged" the white haired composer into it.

"Okay, this is not getting anywhere. She fooled your ass, Fuuta. It was Yoisaki's friend's idea, and so you gotta help with this chaos." Akito interrupted the banter, calling Es over.

"Shinonome, what happened- Oh. Hello, Fuuta."

Es and Fuuta avoided eye contact with each other. Fuuta was still pissed off over being unforgiven in the first trial, losing his eye, everything that happened, and Es was painfully aware of this.

"Okay, you two look like you need to talk. Come on, Akito. Scram."

Ena pushed Akito out of the two's sight, herself going back to where her friends were.

"So... How have things been?" Es broke the uncomfortable silence they found themselves in.

Fuuta wasn't having it. "Save yourself the small talk. What do I have to do, Es?"

"Well... Wait- have you not told your siblings about-"

"SHHH- I- no, I haven't. That's not the point. Continue."

Es stood quiet for a bit, doubting themselves on whether or not they should actually suggest it.

"Ok basically, I want you to tell your siblings about MILGRAM. They deserve to know, right? So,, what I was thinking was... Make it the play."

Fuuta found himself in disbelief once again. That was the dumbest idea he'd ever heard.

"This is the dumbest thing I've ever done. Easily."

Fuuta said, before turning to the 20 teenagers in front of him. He took a deep, frustrated breath. "Alright. Es, who... Who was the guard again?"

"Oh, Hinomori, over there." Es responded, Fuuta facepalmed.

"Which one? Grey hair of blue hair?"

"Oh. It's Shiho Hinomori. You can handle everyone else, right?" Before Fuuta could even argue against that idea, Es disappeared from his sight.

"Goddammit. Alright. Starting with uhh... You three."

The three remaining from Shiho's band, Ichika, Saki and Honami. The three had widely different reactions to being called. Well, at least Saki was more energetic compared to Honami and Ichika's calmer or rather a bit more nervous expressions.

"So- Which of you is more likely to commit murder?" Fuuta asked, way more casually than he should've.

The three looked at one another, Honami stammering a bit before speaking.

"Uhm... I mean... I'm not sure? None of us would-"

"Alright, then we'll just decide randomly later, I guess." Fuuta pinched the bridge of his nose, moving on to Airi and her friends, an idol group by the name of MORE MORE JUMP!, Minori, Haruka, Shizuku and her. "Any ideas, Airi?"

"Well, I'd say Minori and Shizuku would be a pretty unexpected pair in this type of setting, right, Haruka?" Fuuta looked around suddenly to find where the blue haired former prisoner was, before realizing that Airi was talking to another Haruka.

"Hm... True. None of us would do such a thing as murder someone, but Minori and Shizuku are the ones you'd least expect."

Fuuta was lost in thought for a bit. Were all blue haired people called Haruka now?

"Alrighty then!! Shizuku, you ready?"

"Hm! Let's do this!"

Minori and Shizuku high fived with overflowing enthusiasm, too much for Fuuta to handle.

Then, it was Akito's group's turn. From what he'd heard, their names were Kohane, An, Akito of course, and Toya, who his brother had mentioned.

"Alright. Trying this again. Which of you is more likely to--"

Fuuta was interrupted by An and Akito's yelling in unison.

"An."

"Akito."

"HUH?!"

"WHAT?!"

"I WOULD NEVER DO THAT?!"

"I WOULD NEVER DO THAT?!"

"Well, both of you then. Cool. This was way easier than I thought it would be. Moving on then-"

"Oh fuck."

He could tell this group specifically was way more chaotic than even Akito and An's mutual accusations.

Tsukasa, who was the one yelling on-stage, Emu, who had the highest pitched voice he'd ever heard coming from a teenager, Nene, who was clearly done with everyone's bullshit (especially Tsukasa's) and Rui, who was one of the ones chasing down the malfunctioning robot which Fuuta was just now realizing looked a whole lot like Nene.

"Alright, so-"

"Tsukasa."

"Fufu~ Tsukasa."

"I VOLUNTEER!"

"TSUKASA!!"

Fuuta looked at them, questioned why he even gave Ena his new number, why he didn't just stay inside MILGRAM, questioned every single decision that led up to him being there.

Nene seemed to have noticed, and after stopping for a bit to make sure the group's yelling wasn't giving her a headache, she just uttered: "Don't question it."

"I- okay. Who else-"

"I'll volunteer as well, I find the concept quite interesting, you see." Rui chimed in, Emu nodding rapidly and screaming nonsense in a happy tone.

"More painful than it sounds like but... Okay I'm moving on."

Lastly, Ena's group. Kanade, Es' friend and indirectly responsible for him being there, Mafuyu, who... Strangely reminded him of Yuno for some reason, Ena and Mizuki, who was braiding Mafuyu's hair.

"Okay, I'm not even going to consider you, Ena, then..."

Ena immediately went "HUH?! Why not?"

"Listen, if you and Akito were stuck in the same place for an extended amount of time PLUS you two find out the other killed someone? Nah, that would not end well."

Mizuki wheezed, "Also, also! Can we please have Mafuyu's mother killed in this? She completely deserves it, right guys?"

Kanade hesitantly nodded. "I... Wouldn't like it to come to that but..."

"Definitely deserves it. Anyway, Mafuyu and... Kanade you're too pure to ever kill. Mizuki, you go."

Mizuki softly hugged Mafuyu, the purple haired girl taken aback by this but eventually accepting the hug. "Alrighty then! But you two better be looking for us!"

Fuuta didn't say another word and just left to find Es.

"Alright, Hinomori, while we wait for Fuuta to be done with everything else... I need to explain how this works to the best of my ability." Both Shiho and Es sat down somewhere backstage.

"Go ahead. Isn't this too dark for a school play though?" Shiho asked, recalling how she'd thought it was a bit dark and elaborated for a usual, out of the ordinary play.

"Well, if I remember correctly, the only rule we were given was to not let Kamishiro blast Tenma off to space again. According to Shiraishi, at least."

Shiho nodded, as if she wasn't surprised. "Hm... Go on then."

Es took a deep breath. "Okay... Can I be honest though? This... Isn't entirely fictional."

"Huh?"

They chuckled nervously. "...This is kinda like an elaborate plot to make Fuuta tell his siblings about what happened." They stopped for a bit before continuing. "Everything you're going to act out... Happened to us. Fuuta and I were inside MILGRAM."

Shiho listened in a bit of shock as Es tried to find the words to explain the situation clearly.

"I was the prison guard, Fuuta, along with 9 others, was a prisoner. The third one, to be exact. The guard's duty is to look at the prisoner's sins by looking directly at their minds through songs. MILGRAM was somehow able to do that."

Shiho nodded along, looking as though she was trying to slowly process it.

"Not only that, but to also judge the prisoners' sins as forgivable or unforgivable, judge them as innocent or guilty. Without going into much detail, MILGRAM is where Fuuta lost his eye"

"I see."

Es nodded in confirmation. Fuuta came backstage as soon as that happened, seeming pissed off that the former prison guard had left him to deal with whatever was going on outside.

"Es, here's everyone. The first three are still undecided, I refuse to do that though so you decide, I don't care."

Fuuta shoved the sheet of paper with the prisoners and left their sight.

"... I'm going back too." Shiho followed Fuuta through the stage's curtain, Es waved at her before checking the paper.

"Hm... Let's see."

Airi and Toya, who had volunteered to help out with parts of the play since they weren't prisoners in it, stood at the stage. The rest of them were dispersed surrounding it, some seated in random seats in the auditorium, like Kanade for example.

"Okay, everyone!! We have the prisoners for the play decided." Airi broke the ice first, Toya nodded, being given the sheet of paper.

"That's right. First, prisoners 001 and 002, Tsukasa and Hanasato." Toya said calmly. Tsukasa and Minori, on the other hand, immediately cheered for each other in the least-calm manner anybody could think of.

"Next is..." Toya took one look at the first name he'd have to announce, smiling fondly. An and Mizuki grinned at each other, knowing who it was immediately. "Prisoners 003 and 004, Akito and Hoshino."

Akito and Ichika gave each other friendly smiles, taking it less enthusiasticly than the first pair. Saki cheered Ichika on and Kohane did so for her teammate. An teased him for it in a lighthearted manner.

Fuuta winced at the fact that Akito was 003, he already knew he'd been picked, he'd put his name down himself (a bad decision in retrospect), but he expected at least a bit of decency from Es' part not to put his brother directly in his place.

"Up next, prisoners 005 and 006, Hinomori and Kamishiro."

Shizuku hugged Shiho tightly. "Shii! We're going to be together for this!"

Her younger sister wasn't as enthusiastic as she was. "I guess... But I'll be the guard, Shizuku."

"I know!! Isn't that exciting? You'll do great!"

Airi took over the announcement once more. "Next, prisoners 007 and 008, Mochizuki and Mizuki!"

Mizuki ran up to Honami, the drummer taken a bit aback not only by the announcement but by them.

"High five, Honami!!"

"Oh, okay!"

Honami and Mizuki high fived, Airi chuckled before continuing.

"Last pair, prisoners 009 and 010! An and Asahina! That's it for the prisoners!"

An gave Mafuyu a smile, Mafuyu doing the same shortly after.

"Everybody else, we're the search team! We'll be looking for our friends' whereabouts, so be prepared and memorize your scripts!" Airi jumped off the stage with a very solid landing.

Toya, on the other hand, added something before leaving.

"Oh, before we get onto this, we'll be starting the search team bit by bit. Azusawa and I, followed by Ena and Kajiyama, next, Momoi and Saki, and at last, Kusanagi and Otori."

With that, Toya hurried off the stage, something came to his mind.

"Momoi."

Airi turned around rather quickly. "Hm?"

"Do you think they'll take it well? What Kajiyama did."

Toya asked, barely audible from all the overlapping chatter and talking.

Airi stopped to consider it for a bit. "...I don't know. I mean, no one can truly be ready to get news like this, y'know? Let's just hope they can move on past it."

Toya nodded, relief washing over him. Airi started walking towards Ena to practice her lines, Toya eventually walked over to where Saki and Kohane were waiting for him.

Opening night (honestly, no one knew why they'd all collectively agreed to call it that, it wasn't like they'd be doing this multiple times) had arrived too fast.

Mizuki, Haruka and Shizuku had worked non-stop on the costumes alongside Mikoto, who heard Fuuta talking about the play and offered to help last minute.

Airi, Toya and Es perfected the story with Rui and Tsukasa's help and experience from doing shows as WxS. Kanade and Mafuyu worked on the songs alongside Leo/need. The Shinonomes, Emu and Minori were in charge of the stage design and decoration, while An, Kohane and Nene tried to figure out the lights.

Everything was done and set up to be perfectly executed all according to plan. Aside from the eventual question of who would play Jackalope, (which eventually was solved by Rui building a robot for it) and Haruka getting a very high fever the day before.

They'd rehearsed a lot, Fuuta being practically forced to practice the "confess to murder scene and hope your sister is fairly good at acting like this is part of her script", as Es called it, long after both Shinonomes left to go home after the actual rehearsals.

Now more than ever, the oldest Shinonome was properly losing his shit backstage.

"I don't like this at all, Es. Why did you make me do this?! They don't have to know. It's been 3 years, I need to move on from this, alright?!"

Fuuta was freaking out backstage, Es trying to be as comforting and understanding as they could.

"They deserve to know, Fuuta. It might be hard, but you won't be able to hide this forever. This is a fairly better way to come clean, okay? You're already in too deep."

Fuuta grabbed onto his own hair tightly, clearly stressed out of his mind.

"Erm..." An and Mizuki were passing through the back towards their places in the first scene. The introduction. "Sorry to interrupt, passing through! You guys should get to your places! We're almost ready to start!" An exclaimed, full of excitement.

Es gave her a thumbs up, signaling Fuuta to go with them. Instead, the redhead declined, insisting he'd stay there until he had to go on stage.

Akito came into the room not long after. Seeing his brother acting out the most traumatizing moments of his entire life was horrible, even if no one but him and some others knew it wasn't just for show. The costumes weren't even real, but Mikoto had put way too much detail to them, down to the materials used for everything.

They felt real enough, and Fuuta hated seeing his brother like this.

Nonetheless, he somehow remembered his older brother role, stopping Akito before he sulked his way onto the dark stage.

"Akito, wait."

"Hm? Anything wrong, Fuuta? You look a bit nervous, y'know?"

Fuuta ignored the question entirely, he wanted to get it over with. "Good luck out there."

Akito scratched the back of his neck, sighing as if he was as frustrated with this play as him. "Thanks. Let's get it over with."

"Oh and... I'm sorry. In advance."

His younger brother didn't understand the apology, choosing to take it as Fuuta's warning for his likely poor acting. "Nah, don't worry. If An's sorry ass is allowed to go out there, you'll be fine."

"WHAT THE HELL AKITO?!" An whisper-yelled from her place on-stage. "YOU'RE BAD AT ACTING TOO, MIND YOU!"

"Alright, I'm leaving now. See you after the curtain call, Fuuta."

As Akito left his sight, Fuuta took one last deep breath as he made up his mind.

After the play ended and his siblings knew the truth, he'd completely disappear from their lives.

Everyone in the audience settled down in the empty seats of the Kamiyama High School auditorium. Yuuki Akiyama, who happened to be in Japan, sat alongside very excited Yuuka and Ken Shiraishi.

Mafuyu's father sat somewhere in the background, being happy for his daughter while giving her space. The Shinonome parents had shown up as well, and Airi's sisters were seated close to them.

Rui and Nene's respective families caught up with each other quickly, while the Otori siblings waited in a comfortable silence.

It was time to start. Shiho was the last one on-stage for the first scene, but one could barely make out the silhouettes of the 10 other students.

The spotlight shone down on her as she gulped.

"I... am Es, MILGRAM's Warden, reporting for duty."

Shiho had made sure to memorize even the slightest details of her script. She would not fail.

"I'll judge these people... These murderers and their sins as forgivable or otherwise, unforgivable. Starting with... Prisoner 001, Tenma Tsukasa."

A new spotlight shone on Tsukasa, who was acting unconscious to the point of perfection. One could even think he was completely dead if not for the disturbed expression he put on and the steady back and forth of his chest.

And so, Shiho introduced every prisoner like so, throwing in a bit of foreshadowing Rui had added into the lines to hint at her character's memory problem.

Shiho left just as expected after Mafuyu's sudden introduction, leaving the scene to the 10 prisoners, first handled by the Kamikou students before the Miyajou ones left their cells.

After that, the moment Fuuta dreaded the most. The start of the end.

Ena's first scene. Emu and Akito started moving the prison to change them into a divided environment, half was a somewhat similar replica of Ena's room, the other, of Fuuta's apartment. However, only Ena walked into the third scene.

"Ugh... Akito, where is he?!" Ena yelled out to seemingly no one. She sighed. "Guess I don't have a choice now, do I?"

She took her phone out of her pocket, acting as if she was about to call someone.

That's where Fuuta had to go in, and luckily he remembered to do so. He answered Ena's fake call, not bothering to look for his parents' perplexed looks in the audience, it was too dark for that anyway.

"Fuuta, hello."

The two walked around their respective places, trying their damn hardest to make themselves look like they were actually in a call.

In reality, Ena had no clue why Fuuta seemed so nervous, with his heavy breathing and suddenly paranoid way of speaking.

Back in the prison environment, Mizuki and Mafuyu's interaction played out. Yuuki was so proud of Mizuki and it showed. Mafuyu's father as well.

Then, when Rui and Tsukasa's secret talk scene came along, with the name-drop of the Otori family, they just continued along, as WxS had asked for their confirmation that they could do this beforehand to avoid any trouble.

Ena was increasingly more suspicious that something was off as soon as she left Fuuta and her first actual scene together with Kohane and Toya. The way he acted, how he lost balance at one point, she couldn't be sure whether it was just for the play or if something was off.

The suspicion only grew as she overheard parts of Mikoto and Fuuta's scenes. She couldn't listen to everything. They were talking about MILGRAM, which wouldn't be weird considering that's an important part of the play, but Fuuta's character wasn't aware of it as far as she knew. And his eye being brought up too. Ena tried to brush it off.

"H-hey... It's been a while, hasn't it...?"

Nene's scene backstage of the Wonder Stage rolled around. Emu knew the stage like the back of her hand so the Shinonome siblings just followed along to make the stage.

Rui made sure to have Robo-Nene on full battery for this scene, as well as implement any functions it may have been missing, they'd need it for Saki's scene too, after all.

"When Momoi and Tenma join the search team, a couple more scenes and you come clean, okay, Fuuta?"

That's what Es had told him weeks ago. And there he was, watching Airi and Saki join the Search Team alongside his sister and his brother's best friends. He wasn't ready for it, he'd never be.

"Just- pass me that pen over there. Goddammit."

That's the first and only thing Ena heard from the other scene before hers. Airi had only told her to improvise the scene, saying it was probably for the best, everyone else seemed to have the normal script for it.

She knew next to nothing about the scene, so one could only imagine her surprise when, as soon as Toya started reading a letter from Fuuta and the man himself appeared, saying the contents of it instead.

"Dear Ena,"

Akito was watching from backstage with An and was just as confused as Ena was.

Toya kept on reading from the dark as Fuuta said the same words while not making eye contact with neither Ena nor Akito.

"Remember that one time you asked me if I had killed someone and I said no?

It was a lie."

Ena looked at the other members of the search team. They all knew what the letter said.

Fuuta went quiet for a bit, taking the deepest breath ever as Toya continued on as expected.

"And if you're reading this with Akito's teammates, then... Prepare for the shit show, everyone."

Fuuta started again. "I'm sorry that this is how you find out, but everyone that has gone missing, just like I did, 3 years ago..."

Ena glanced at the equally surprised Akito and Akito glanced at her in total confusion.

"What the fuck..."

"Is a murderer, just like I am."

Akito looked at An, at Kohane and Toya on stage to see if he'd heard that right.

"An. He didn't just say what I think he did, did he?"

An watched as the middle child of the Shinonome family questioned the same thing to herself in the eyes of hundreds.

All An could say was a lost "...I don't know, Akito."

With that, Ena and Akito had found out about it. After that, they'd never see Fuuta again and if they did, Fuuta would make sure it wouldn't be for long.

And so, the scenes continued up to the end of the first trial, where the play was doomed to end. Ena and Fuuta had had more scenes together that they were not excited about.

Curtain call came around as well, and Tsukasa made an unexpected move of throwing himself into the crowd much to Nene's embarrassment. An had to run after him to scold him afterwards, thanking goodness that at least nobody was sent into outer space this time around.

After curtain call, Fuuta hurried up to leave the building. Akito and Ena noticed way too late, running off to get to him but essentially failing.

"FUUTA!" Ena yelled in desperation.

Akito yelled, reaching his hand out to grab onto his brother's sleeve that was too far away from his grasp. Ena and him continued running towards him, the oldest Shinonome leaving their sight not long after.

"What the fuck was that?!"

Akito huffed, trying his hardest to catch his breath. He wouldn't struggle this much usually.

"He... He actually killed someone..." Ena turned to Es, who had run after the two. "And you were in on it?!"

"Listen, Shinonome... It was the only way he could tell you two about it. It's been 3 years."

Akito looked off into the distance, in the direction they'd last seen Fuuta run off to.

He'd go off into the streets at night, looking for him in middle school. Once Ena saw him in the street a year later, the same year he met Toya, saying he looked paranoid, as if something happened to him, he didn't believe her. Now, he was starting to do so.

"Es. Tell us everything." Akito looked at them and at Ena.

"Huh..?"

"I will find whoever did this to him, whoever hurt him and avenge him."

Ena turned her gaze away from him from slight disbelief.

"Are you out of your mind, Akito?!"

Months later, in an abandoned building, somewhat close to Vivid Street...

"So she was hidden almost in plain sight huh..."

The two watched the target from the distance, sheltered from the storm and the pouring rain.

"Hidden from you, I don't even know this part of Shibuya."

She grabbed a knife from their backpack, tossing it to him.

"Well, we better get going before she leaves."

"Hm. Let's go."

They jumped from one rooftop to the next, their clothes getting wet from the rain in the process.

It didn't take long for them to sneak into their target's temporary apartment. Multiple knocked over chess pieces laid on the floor as well as a bunch of loose sheets of various newspapers from different months and days, ones they saw included November 12th, April 30th, April 19th, etc.

They stuck to the dark red walls of the property, and then they saw her.

The one they were looking for.

"There she is." She whispered. "On the count of three, okay?"

"Okay."

"One..."

She pressed her open, gloved hands onto the wall, questioning once more if they were truly ready for this.

"Two..."

He grasped onto the knife as hard as he possible could.

"Three."

The two sneakily ran up to their target, who turned around immediately to dodge both at

tacks and separate them, laughing.

"Yuzuriha... Kotoko..."
