Chapter 14,5
Akito sat at the back of his cell. He hadn't slept in days and he really just wanted to go home.
He never thought he'd think this but he missed Ena a lot. Hell, he hadn't seen Fuuta in so many years..
He remembered going to look for him at night one time when he disappeared and his parents never looked for him.
Wait.
"Fuuta… were you a…"
He whispered to himself, the prison was quiet.
Was his brother… Also a prisoner?
"No… No that couldn't be possible.."
Akito layed down, his hands trembling as he looked outside hid cell.
He had figured out how to lock the cell without a key somehow, keeping himself inside of it much to An's concern.
He wasn't going to another interrogation anytime soon. At that point he really did not care. He was tired.
"Shinonome… was it?"
He glanced at who had talked to him all of the sudden.
A light brown haired girl, probably not from Kamikou, sitting silently at the other side of his locked cell, leaning on the black iron bars.
Her eyes were lost in thought as she awaited some sort of answer.
"Who are you?"
He replied, his hands close together.
"Honami Mochizuki…"
She looked at him.
"Mhm…"
"Huh… How did you… Lock the cell?"
Honami asked.
"Why are you here."
He asked, moving to face the wall instead.
"I'm not sure. I guess I'm just stalling because I know I'm next…"
Akito frowned, but Honami couldn't see that.
"Are you scared or something…?"
Honami nodded hesitantly and Akito stayed silent.
"I really am… I want to go home already…"
She confessed, curling up into a ball.
"Me too…"
"Prisoner 007, uhm… Mochizuki Honami… Come through the door please."
Akito turned his head to look at Honami, who was sweating bullets already.
"The Warden sounds tired too."
Honami nodded again, standing up slowly.
"Yeah, like she wants to go home."
She walked towards the door, locking eyes with Ichika, who glared daggers at her before she went through.
Honami looked at Shiho. Goddammit she missed her.
"Uhmm… Ms. Es?"
Es turned around.
"Oh, good, you're fast. Let's begin."
She had the same voice Honami loved listening to every time they hung out.
She had the same face, the same green eyes, the same short hair, the same expression…
But it was not the same at the same time.
She wasn't Shiho Hinomori anymore.
Her memories were gone, and her whole identity vanished.
She would never get her back--
"Ahem… 007?"
Honami stuttered.
"O-oh… Sorry."
"You're friends with 004, aren't you?"
Honami flinched at the mention of Ichika, Es took that as an answer.
"I see. How are you holding up here at Milgram?"
Es asked, keeping her distance from Honami.
"I guess I'm doing okay…? I really miss everything though…"
And then, Es asked a question Honami didn't expect.
"What's the outside world like…?"
Honami's eyes widened, Es scratching the back of her neck and looking to the side.
"It's… It's beautiful… tough but… I think you'd like it there…"
Honami said, realizing how Shiho probably didn't know what was outside of Milgram's walls.
"Have you never been outside?"
She asked, Es now looking in her eyes.
"I… Can't remember… I've just seen videos of what it's like out there."
Oh.
"...If… if you get to remember who you are, and… If I… If we get out of here… Would you like to see the world with me, Es…?"
She asked without thinking, Es being surprised by the sudden offer.
"Who… I am…?"
Honami suddenly realized what she had said.
"Ah! I spoke without thinking, I'm sorry…!"
Es giggled softly.
"There's no need to apologize, 007.
I'd like that…"
A small smile formed on her face, she thought maybe Shiho wasn't as gone as she'd thought before.
"Then let's look forward to it, Es."
They were unfazed by the loud bell.
Looking into her eyes, Es spoke.
"It seems our time is up, just like that…
Come now… Honami.
Sing your sin!"
