Chapter 6
Akito never tried so desperately to fall asleep in his entire life.
But there he was, laying down on the cold prison floor, An and Mizuki by his side.
He wanted to see Toya, Kohane, perform with them at a livehouse again.
And for the first time ever he missed running errands for Ena.
He heard the door opening, but he didn't even want to see Hanasato walk out.
Akito could hear Tsukasa and Rui's whispers, covering his ears to hopefully block them out and fall asleep.
But that didn't happen, instead he was the one now being called to interrogation.
"Prisoner 003, Shinonome Akito,
Go through the door please."
He never dreaded his name being called so much.
"Akito."
He quickly turned around, seeing An grabbing his wrist to stop him.
"Don't be nervous, okay? Tsukasa-senpai and Hanasato both came out safe, you can do it."
An encouraged him, Mizuki followed up with multiple "yes!"
Still, Akito couldn't help but feel anxious.
He walked through the door, being met by Es on the other side.
"You're quite tired, aren't you, 003?"
Es asked, noticing small eye bags forming under his eyes.
"Wouldn't you like to know."
Es huffed in annoyance at Akito's response.
"It's been a day at most since you all woke up, you can't be this tired already if you just slept through the night…
Unless, well, you hadn't woken up when everyone else did."
Akito clenched his fists.
"How did you…"
Es interrupted Akito, a small smirk forming on her face as she asked.
"So, tell me this. How exactly did you manage to wake up days before the other prisoners?"
She teased, interested fully in Akito's explanation.
Akito couldn't muster up anything.
"Come on, Shinonome. Cat got your tongue or something?"
"Isn't this supposed to be an interrogation, huh? Why would you ask something that has nothing to do with who I-"
Es laughed in delight as Akito ran his mouth off.
"And that is how you confess. Go on, continue, how should I run this place, 003?"
"Is this even legal? I'm pretty sure you're probably my age, so shouldn't you be-"
Es stopped him.
"Are you going to question everything in life, 003? I ask the questions here, isn't that clear already?"
"Now, answer my question, please. How did you do it?"
"...I am a… light sleeper."
Es chuckled, crossing her arms.
"And a pretty bad liar too. What were you mumbling?"
Akito's eyes widened.
"You… heard that?"
Es quickly changed the subject.
"I've seen you talking to 009."
"Huh…?"
Es sighed.
"You're hopeless. I'm talking about Shiraishi An"
Akito took a step back.
"How do you know our names?!"
Es ignored him.
"You really like them, don't you?"
"H-hey-! Don't change the subject-!"
She continued.
"This is your interrogation, I can ask whatever the fuck I want, understand, 003?"
"Where are--"
Es interrupted his sentence again.
"Your rights? You shouldn't have killed a person, sweetie.
On that note, mind talking about that?"
Akito glared at Es.
"They weren't supposed to die…"
He whispered.
"What was that?"
"I don't know."
"You little shit."
The iconic bell promptly rang, making Akito scream.
"You better be a better singer than you are a liar."
"Prisoner 003, Akito,
Come now, sing your sins!"
