Chapter 7
The vampire and his girlfriend waited about an hour both to ensure that Leighton was asleep and to make sure that no one would come upstairs and when no one did they slowly made their way towards the Fairmont house. They both knew how dangerous this mission was. With monster hunters and his over protective sister in the house, there was a high chance Oliver wouldn’t make it out alive if they caught him, but he didn’t care. He wanted to mess with his sister more than anything, think of it as payback for childhood since prison didn’t work, and this was the best way to do it.
They crept silently to the window that lead to Elinor’s room and thanked whatever god was above that the blonde didn’t lock her windows, it’s almost as if she wanted this to happen. Oliver quietly and slowly opened the window and then helped Carmen in before jumping in himself. The way he walked over to a sleeping Leighton was akin to a predator stalking its prey, and in a way it was exactly that.
“Come on babe, let’s grab her and go.” Carmen nudged, knowing her boyfriend can get a little…caught up in the moment and she didn’t want him to do anything extra. The plan was to grab Leighton and go, no more no less. And she didn’t want Oliver to get the idea to do more.
Oliver, seemingly being shaken out of his thoughts, nodded in agreement and picked the girl up bridal style so he didn’t wake her and then carefully maneuvered both of them out of the window and used his speed and strength to carry Leighton to a cabin in the middle of the woods. Only he and Carmen knew it existed, he had built it for them as a place to escape to, or for what its use for now was which was kidnapping his sister’s girlfriend. Oliver gently placed Leighton in the spare bed then closed and locked the door behind him. He didn’t want to hurt her but he couldn’t risk her running away. These woods were dangerous, even for him. Once it was established that Leighton was squared away, Oliver went to execute the second part of his plan, witnessing his sister absolutely lose it.
Meanwhile at the Fairmont house, it was around 6 am when the vampires finally decided to call it a night. Elinor wished her family good night, grabbed a blood bag, then made her way upstairs. She wasn’t tired, she literally could not be, but the thought of cuddling up to Leighton in bed sounded perfect and she couldn’t wait to do just that. Considering she was so caught up in her thoughts, Elinor didn’t notice the stark absence of her girlfriend in their room she faced the bed and found it empty. She called out for her girlfriend but was confused when there was no response. She glances towards her ensuite bathroom and saw the light was off and she started to panic. She didn’t often use her tracking skills, she didn’t have a need, but she needed to find Leighton. Focusing in on her surroundings, Elinor centered herself so she was able to pick up on anything that might have been off.
1..2..3..breathe in…nothing sounds off
1..2..3..breathe out…nothing feels off
1..2..3..breathe in…nothing smells-
There it was. The smell. And she knew it well. The blondes eyes flashed as she growled and could have torn the whole town to pieces with the rage she was feeling. Oliver. He took Leighton. He took her. She grabbed a hoodie and sweatpants before running down the stairs and going out the front door, practically ripping it off its hinges. She was about to take off running when she felt arms around her. In her fury, Elinor didn’t know who it was and turned to them, ready to kill them if necessary but quickly calmed when she met the blue eyes of her sister and the inquisitive eyes of Cal. There was never one without the other, it was kind of cute.
“Let me go Juliette.” The older sister practically hissed as she tried to free herself from her sister’s grasp but the smaller girl held on for dear life trying to keep Elinor in place.
“Elinor. Calm down. Tell us what happened.” she tried to reason. When they had heard the door, the younger couple sprinted out to see what was going on only to see Elinor in a state of rage that they had never seen before.
After minutes of struggling, her emotions finally caught up to her and the blonde collapsed into her sister’s arms sobbing. “Oliver. He took her. Leighton she’s..she’s gone.” She managed between sobs. Juliette’s jaw dropped and she looked over her shoulder at Cal and nodded before heading back in the house to get the elder Fairmonts and to call her parents. This was definitely going to be a group effort.
In the shadows far enough to not be suspected was Oliver, grinning as he saw his twin crumble. "Check dear Elinor. Let's see what you'll do to protect your queen." he mumbled to hisself as he made his way back towards the cabin feeling great about his plan.
