Kate had just shut her front door after such a long and exhausting day, she was on the verge of a breakdown, it had been such a tough day, after all she really got converted into a Cyberman. She went straight into the kitchen and made herself a coffee but then decided she needed something stronger so grabbed herself a bottle of wine and poured herself a large glass. She noticed her phone had over 2000 messages so she started to play them:
~Message one~
"Kate, I know it'll be years before you hear this... I just wanted to say... I miss you so much... you're the only one who properly understands me... I'm finding it really hard to carry on, especially with Josh constantly bugging me with endless comments... you know the ones I only let you say... I should go... I wish you were here ma'am... I.. I love you..."
~End of message~
Kate just listened to her girlfriend's voice over the answer machine and started crying, especially after she said 'I love you' and just turned the rest off, she knew they'd all be Osgood, she knew they'd all be saying the same thing, she knew she had to see her so she called her but got no answer:

"Os... it's me.. I need to see you... I need to hold you... I've had such a tough day... I love you so much..."
~End of message~
She had to end it before she cried harder, oh how she wanted her dad "what do I do dad? you always knew what to say" she looked at the photo of her and her father she had on her shelf and just like that 10 minutes later there was a knock at the door, she went to answer it and when she saw who it was, she through her arms around her and pulled her into the house and shutting the door "hello you" she smiled at the brunette with her smiling face which was still covered in a mixture of mascara and tear stains "I got your message and came straight away" Osgood wiped away the blonde's tears with the sleeve of her lab coat.
The pair just stood hugging in the hallway for what felt like forever "tell me what happened" the scientist said after a while, pushing her glasses back up her nose "ok" Kate led her to the living room, sat her on the sofa and explained every detail from when she first went into hiding to when she rebuilt UNIT in the UK to when she was seconds away from being converted into a Cyberman, Osgood listened to every word then just hugged her "I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you through all of that" Kate shook her head "I'm just glad you weren't there, as much as I missed you, I'm glad".
After a while of talking the pair decided to go and change into comfier clothes, their matching star pyjamas and Kate insisted on wearing her dinosaur dressing gown too and that Osgood wore her TARDIS dressing gown. They were both back in the living room, snuggling on the sofa before Kate decided to put on one of her father's old records as it helped her relax. Osgood pulled her up and started slow dancing with her, making sure she was close to her. They were dancing for the whole time the song played and when the record stopped Kate lifted the needle to stop damage then pulled Osgood into the deepest kiss she could muster "I love you Ossy" she stroked the brunette's hair "I love you too Katie" she fiddled with the blonde's fringe before kissing her again.
