The sun and the boy who lived
Summary
Arcturus Black was beyond pissed. For not only did he got a letter saying that nearly half of his family was thrown into Azkaban, but they also got involved in the damned war. After he ordered them to sit this one out! And to top it all off: his house-elf presented him with another grandchild. Who is the daughter of the newly deceased Dark Lord.He blames Dumbledore for this. That meddling crackpot old fool of a wizard surely has something to do with this.I suck at summaries, but please give it a chance. Criticism is always appreciated.

Harry is here

Two days later, Grimmauld Place 12

Sirius was walking in circles in the living room. Again. You would think he is waiting for his own son instead of his godson based on how much is he worrying. Not only did he redecorated Harry's room five times, but he also enlisted the help of the family to make the house 'baby proof'. Well, Regulus and Kreacher mostly. The others ignored his request of help.

But his circling got interrupted as someone knocked on the front door. He ran out of the room so fast that a cheetah would be envious. And he nearly tore off the door of its hinges with how forcefully he opened it, which also spooked the ministry official a little.

"Ehm, sorry." He said as he saw the look on their face.

"Excited, are we?" The woman asked humorously.

"Yes. Mostly nervous, but yes." Sirius said with a thin smile.

"Understandable. Now, before I officially give over little Harry to you." She started as she held up the basket in which the baby was sleeping."I need to inspect their new room and some other things. Don't worry, it will take ten minutes at most."

"Of course. Come in." He said and opened the door wider, while stepping aside, to let her in.

But of course, it was at this moment that his brother decided to start shouting, which echoed through the whole house.

"WHERE DID THIS THING COME FROM?!?!?!!"

"Let me just check this out." Sirius excused himself and ran back to the living room.

When he reached it, he saw his brother levitating a huge mushroom with two small and chubby feets.

"What's that Reg? And where did it come from?"

"Dunno, Siri. As for where, Helia summoned it." Regulus said as he observed the creature.

"Okay...Make sure it's not dangerous. I have to go back to the ministry guy." Sirius said and booked it.

"I take it everything is alright?" The woman asked as he reappeared in the hall.

"Yes, just some accidental magic." He waved off her concerns.

"Your nephew is here?" She asked with a smile, eager to gossip a little.

"Oh, no. My sister. As it turns out my mother gave birth to her a year ago, but didn't tell anyone." Arcturus said it was fine to share the news, so he told her without worry.

"And how old is she?" She asked, just as they reached Harry's room.

"A year and three months, roughly." He said and took Harry's basket from her as she went around the room.

They then spent the next half an hour inspecting the house while making small talk. Fortunately, she found everything up to par in the house. Even if she didn't like Kreacher one bit as he dumped a glass of water on her. Although that is on her, she shouldn't have questioned the elf about his knowledge about childcare.

"Remember Mister Black, if his scar acts up then don't hesitate to ask for help. Goodbye." She said and apparated away.

"Like hell I will." Sirius mumbled to himself as he made his way towards the living room.

His faith in the 'Light' side, the ministry and anything affiliated with them is nearly zero as of now. Same with Dumbledore. He left Sirius to rot in jail without even a trial, then tried to keep Harry from him.

He said Harry should live with Petunia instead! That giraffe-necked woman is the textbook example of a magic hater! Even now rage fills his heart and ice his veins whenever he thinks about that. But he has better things to do than think about that horrid woman and her walrus of a husband.

So with a shake of his head he resumed walking and then deposited Harry in his new room, then called Kreacher.

"Kreacher, notify me if Harry wakes up." He said and turned to leave.

"As you wish, Master Sirius." The elf said and then went to take a look at the new addition to the family. Sirius also saw him casting a few diagnostic spell on the little guy, just to be sure.

It clearly shows why Kreacher is the designated Black Family Nanny Elf. In fact, he has been that for the last four houndred or so years, ever since Kreacher became an adult. And now the knowledge that Harry is in good hands, Sirius made his way to his brother to get answers.

"Where did you put it?" He asked as he entered the living room, but didn't see the mushroom anywhere. Only Regulus playing with their sister.

"I banished it back to where it came from. Although it took a few tries to find the correct fae realm." Regulus shrugged and handed a wooden block to Helia.

"I see. How did it get here by the way?" Sirius asked as he sat down too.

"As I said, Helia summoned it. How? I don't know. I went out to get her bottle and when I came back it was already here."

"Well, lets hope it was a one time thing, because if this will be the norm then we'll need to brush up on our knowledge about other realms."

Regulus just nodded at that.

Few hours later

"Hmm, curious. I heard about children summoning things when they feel lonely, but never from other realms. It's nearly always a housecat or a dog that gets summoned." Arcturus said as he fed Helia and Harry."Although it is possible that she inherited a summoning related family magic from one of our ancestors, but only Lady Magic knows which one. We are related to at least twenty such pureblood lines. And what about little Harry? Any signs of accidental magic?"

""Ah, I forgot about that."" The brothers said at the same time.

"Harry didn't cause any incident. Although there were a few times when he was very lethargic and didn't move even when sis wanted to play with him." Sirius answered as he took his godson from the old man and began trying to make him burp. Arcturus did the same with Helia.

"Maybe it's his cursed scar. I will take him and Helia to the family healer tomorrow. They are already due for their vaccines anyway, might as well hit two birds with one hex."

Next afternoon

"Well? How are they?" Arcturus asked after the little ones were settled into the twin basket he brought them in.

"Helia's health is impeccable." Healer Marcus said as he read through the parchments his diagnostic spells produced."Harry's on the other hand isn't. It looks like the scar isn't just a residue, but an active curse. Although it's exact nature has eluded my grasps, I advise you to go and see my colleague two floors down. In fact, here is your referral. Go." Saying so he thrusted a piece of parchment at the old man.

"Ordering me around, are we? How brave of you." Arcturus said with a chuckle, but complied and left the room with the little ones.

It has to be known that Healer Marcus is the healer that helped Arcturus into the world and has been his personal healer since then. And also being one of the select few that could tell him what to do and get away with it.

Five minutes later Arcturus stepped forth into the office of the specialist his healer sent them to. And Harry was promptly snatched out of the basket by the scared looking old man manning the office. Who then started casting spells at him at once.

Arcturus sat down, a little worried, and waited until the healer was done. Which was ten minutes later, and then went to write something on a parchment which folded itself into a paperplane and flew away with a flick of his wand.

"What is Harry's problem?" Arcturus asked as the note left the office.

"Tell you on the way." The healer said and left the office with Harry in his arms."Well, I don't know how or why, but a piece of someone else's soul is inside that scar. And it tries to overtake his body. Although said piece is very weak and would most probably fail, but even its mere presence is damaging his own soul and mind. Fortunately you came here quickly and the damage is barely noticeable as of now.

Which means that he will make a swift recovery once we got the soul-piece out of that scar. It also won't have any lasting effect on him, maybe some headache for a few days, but that is normal. And as a bonus we will be able to heal his scar too. Here we are. I have to ask you to remain outside though. See you in an hour!" The healer said and went through the pair of heavy looking metal doors.

Arcturus barely caught a glimpse of the other healers in the room, before the doors were shut. So he resigned himself to wait and sat down in a nearby chair. And tried to distract himself by playing with his granddaughter.

True to his words the healer and Harry exited the room approximetely an hour later.

"Everything went well. The soul-piece was transferred into this." Saying so he held up a dingy looking metal cup."And his scar was also healed. As I said previously he might have headaches for a few days, but nothin else. If he does come back ASAP. What should we do with the soul-piece?" He finished and handed the boy back to Arcturus.

"If you have a fiendfyre furnace then throw it into it. If not then give it to me. I have one." The old man said as he checked on Harry for any signs of discomfort or anything else.

"We don't have one." The healer said and passed him the cup. Arcturus just nodded, said his goodbye and left.

The dinner that night was an experience. And if not for the fact that the house wasn't fiendfyre-proof then Sirius would have burned the cup into nothingness himself. As it was they just settled for watching it burn in the furnace.
