Chapter 1
A cloaked figure sat in an empty room, they looked between two different monitors, one screen showed Class 1-A during some kind of practice on the other showed an additional Class 1-A though they were preparing to do an exercise, while it was the same class it was clear they were different.
The figure watched for a few more moments before smiling, their teeth sparkling in the dim lightning provided by the monitors before they clapped their hands before standing "I guess it's time huh?" they said to no one in particular, casting one last glance at the monitors they left the room.
– Meanwhile –
Midoriya sighed as he stretched, it's been about a week since he got his provisional hero license but that didn't mean he nor his friends could slack off, they'd just gotten finished with a training exercise and were currently changing out of their hero costumes and back into their standard uniforms.
"You did well out there Midoriya" Shoto's dull voice broke through the silence and caused the skittish greenette to jump "Oh thanks Todoroki-kun you also did great!" Midoriya praised his classmate who nodded in thanks. Before the conversation could continue a bright light began to envelop those in the locker room causing several shouts of surprise and a series of explosions due to an undoubtedly pissed pomeranian.
As the light calmed down Midoriya looked around his body sparking as he coated himself with Full Cowling, the first thing he noticed was that his entire class, not just the boys were with him. In similar cases of activating their quirks, he next saw the teachers' presence and a few additional pro heroes: Midnight, Present Mic Aizawa, All Might, Nezu, Powerloader, Mt. Lady, and Vlad King as well as the Big Three. the next thing he noticed was they weren't in a familiar place, it looked like an old theatre that was from the '80s or '90s.
"Where the fuck are we!?" Bakugou demanded his hands popping with his quirk.
"Everybody keep calm" Aizawa quickly said unraveling his scarf while examining the surroundings and examining each minuscule detail searching for what possibly could've brought them here.
Midoriya began to think *"Why could we be here? Why would someone want to bring us here? I doubt they would bring us to a theatre to fight us"*
"Right you are" A voice spoke up interrupting the chatter causing many to jump but the pros and several students to shoot their attention toward the source of the voice near the main screen, where they saw a cloaked figure who spoke again.
"No need to get hostile I'm just here I just brought you here to react to something," they said confusing those present, their voice was weird as if several people spoke in unison making it difficult to determine their gender.
Nezu was the one to speak up first Climbing atop the shoulder of Aizawa he cleared having shushed Bakugou before he could rant at the figure at the "bullshit" request.
"Pretale if we were to agree to such a request what would we be reacting to?" He asked while he was worried about possible dangers he couldn't help but satiate his curiosity as the cloaked figure didn't seem to be hostile currently.
"Well I planned to show you an alternative universe or AU for short," They said smiling showing off their teeth and peeking at the interests of several of the people in front of them.
"How is that possible? Even if alternative universes were possible how could we view into one?" Momo was the one that asked this question.
"Well, I can view and project imagery of different universes onto screens aka why I brought you here so my ability could be used to effectively entertain you" He spoke and got several different reactions from angry "Are you fucking kidding me!?" to confused "Wait is that even possible?" but a few notable reactions popped out to him specifically a certain green bean's astonished and amazed expression as he scribbled down in a notebook he had on him mumbling as he did note down the quirk.
"So how does this 'AU' you're gonna show differ from ours?" Nezu asked holding a cup of tea and leading a few students close enough to notice the cup to question where it came from.
"Well this AU involves Mr. Midoriya" this declaration caused most of the people around him to look at him causing him to flinch at the sudden amount of attention.
"You kidnapped us to watch a world focusing on Deku!?" Bakugou yelled annoyed that he was brought here just for DEKU of all people.
"Yes this AU has Midoriya with a different quirk than the one he does currently, and he obtains it much earlier than in this universe" He explains confusing those who didn't know the origins of Izuku's quirk and causing those that have to stiffen.
"Much earlier?" Questioned Kaminari scratching his head in confusion.
"Yes in this world Izuku was believed to be quirkless most of his life as his quirk slowly built up power over several years until Izuku got into a stressful situation that caused him to forcibly unlock it just earlier this year" this caused most of the audience's eyes to widen shock or their jaws to drop in surprise for those aware of the true origins of the quirk to silently thank this stranger.
"Oh, so that's why your body keeps breaking! It wasn't used to your quirk" Ilda exclaimed as he robotically waved his arm.
"Ah yeah! Thanks for explaining it, Mr. Cloaked Person!" Midoriya quickly thanked panicking a bit due to his shyness thankful that this stranger gave a plausible explanation for his lack of control over his quirk.
"Before you ask I will not explain what this quirk is or how it will affect his life so please be patient and take a seat, snakes can be acquired later but I'd prefer to start the first viewing afterward we can take a short break and use the bathroom if you'd like," The cloaked figure said motioning to the seats in front of him.
The idea of seeing another universe got most of them to take a seat, some with more resistance than others ahem Bakugou ahem who had to be coaxed by the Bakusquad into a seat.
Three rows were taken up with students taking up the first 2 while the pros and 3 upperclassmen (And women) occupied the third.
The day was rather bright in Musutafu Japan, to be honest, it was a rather average day as people walk, drove, or rode to their desired destinations be it work or somewhere else
"It seems peaceful so far" Ochako mentioned from her seat next to Izuku, Ilda was on the other side of the greenette, and Midoriya, on the other hand, was silent, he remembered this day so far the alternate universe was the same as the "base" world.
as today was the rare day when students didn't have to go to school due to an unimportant holiday that a certain mother was taking advantage of today was a rather important appointment not for her no as while Inko Midoriya had put on a few pounds recently she certainly wasn't unhealthy at least not to the point where she needed to see a doctor no, in fact, she was taking her young son Izuku Midoriya who recently turned 7 a few days prior but the bad thing was despite being around the appropriate age her beloved son wasn't showing signs of a quirk so she decided to set up an appointment with a local quirkologist to perform a few tests to see if they could figure out what type it was.
"I sure hope the little listener is okay" Aizawa heard Present Mic mutter from next to him causing him to grunt silently, he doubted something bad would happen this early on but he knew his friend enjoyed children it's the reason why he became a teacher in the first place so hearing something worrying about one always brought the blonde to panic.
"I hope Midoriya is alright" Mirio voiced his worry to his friends who sat on either side of him.
"Hey, momma did you see!?" The voice and excited shaking from her young son brought her from her thought process as he eagerly shook her to gain her attention.
"Aww, baby Izuku~" Cooed Hagakure from behind Midoriya with many other girls cooing and calling him cute which worsened his blush.
"Aww look at him! I just want to eat him up~" Midnight cooed at the sight of the young Midoriya. Causing Aizawa to groan at the sudden burst of noises, Nejire on the other hand was making grabby hands at the screen.
they were on the subway train and the family car was Hisashi her beloved husband who worked in the police force, he was away a bit too often for her liking but it helped provide the family with a decent income of cash when combined with her duties as a nurse in the hospital they currently were on their way to.
"Huh, I think that's the first major difference I don't think I've seen or heard you mention your dad," Ochako said looking towards her friend who looked puzzled.
"My mom never really talked about him, and I don't know much about him besides his name so there isn't really anything for me to talk about" Midoriya admitted.
The pros heard this and were surprised "The little listener never met his father?" Mic questioned, he had always assumed the father was just out of the picture not that he had never met him in the first place, All Might look apologetically toward his successor.
Giggling at her son's antics she asked "What is it sweetie?" she knew the one thing that could get her son this excited... Heroes.
"That sounds like our Midori-Kun~," Mina said from behind the greenette ruffling his hair and causing further blush.
"It was Catwalk! the phasing heroine!" He happily exclaimed pointing out the nearby train window where the form of said heroine could be briefly seen before she phased through the concrete above to likely surprise attack a villain she had been battling beforehand.
"Catwalk? I never heard of her before" Ilda said cupping his chin.
"Hmm, she looks like she had a version of your quirk Mirio" Nejire pointed out curiously watching the older woman "swim" through the pavement.
"Yeah but looks like she has some kind of advanced version of Permeation," Mirio said rubbing the back of his head kinda jealous at this alternative universe pro hero.
"Seems like we've found another thing exclusive to this alternative universe a heroine by the name of Catwalk currently doesn't exist in our world to my knowledge" Nezu spoke having taken a seat atop the back of his seat to get a better view.
"She's so amazing! her quirk is perfect for stealth attack..." Her son was soon devolving into one of his classic mumblings fits a habit her son got from her husband who would often devolve into one when thinking about a case which is one of the cutest habits her husband possessed.
"It seems your dad in this universe is much more active in this alternative world's Izuku's life than he is in yours" Todoroki noted from the other side of Ilda.
"Yeah" was Midoriya's response.
"Midoriya seems well knowledgeable of this hero if he's able to recall this kinda knowledge on the spot" Midnight observed.
This piqued the interest of the demonic rat which kinda worried the heroes around him.
at least it was better than him breathing fire when startled which made their surprise party for his last birthday a bit scary when he accidentally burned the ceiling to their entryway which left a scorched area just above their apartment's door which remains to this day. Hisashi has been very sheepish about that since the incident in question.
This got a laugh out of the class and pros even Aizawa grinned a little at the frankly cute scene.
"Heh, that scene kinda reminds me how Tamaki sometimes activates his quirk when he is scared" Mirio joked patting his shy friend on the back.
"I bet she is a sweetie but you should probably grab your All Might action figure we reach our stop soon we don't want to miss your appointment so we can figure out what your quirk is" She reminded playfully. her son was always fascinated by quirks and was so eager to figure out what his quirk was. his face lit up and he hurriedly grabbed the All Might action figure he had dropped in his excitement to tell his mother about the suddenly appearing heroine it was one he got on his seventh birthday it was one where the number one hero was in his silver age outfit.
"It seems this Izuku is just as big as an All Might fanboy as you are" teased Mina causing him to blush once again.
Izuku was always a fan of heroes and the young boy's room could be considered a shrine at this point as most of the room was covered in official and fan-made merchandise purchased mostly online.
"That's a lot of merchandise, kero," remarked Tsuyu as a scene of young Midoriya's bedroom is shown.
"Man is your room like that Mido-Bro?" Kirishima asked peeking over the seats to see the reaction, blushing madly Midoriya hid his face in his hands to mask his massive blush.
She and her husband always loved how their son's face lit up whenever he received a hero-related present. Besides heroes Izuku always loved to analyze quirks, he's been doing this since he was five as with his apparent lack of a quirk the kids at elementary school excluded him from their friend groups and sometimes even bullied him the nickname "Deku" was prominent form of bullying that often came from Katsuki Bakugou or as Izuku knows him as "Kacchan" she couldn't understand why her unofficial nephew would bully her son when they used to be such good friends.
That reveal brought many reactions from the audience.
"Bakugou did you bully our Deku-Kun?" Ochako asked the blonde a murderous aura emitting from her.
Bakugou only responded to the raging Ochako with a demissive "chk" before turning away from the screen.
"Baku-bro totally wouldn't do something like bully someone, I mean he's aggressive but that doesn't mean our Baku-bro would do something like bully someone" Kirishima defended his friend with a smile.
Meanwhile, the teachers were examining the interaction between the students and began to talk amongst themselves.
"Bakugou has a few questions to answer with that reaction," Mic said examining the fellow blonde.
"Yes yes he does," Aizawa said narrowing his eyes.
The train came to a sudden stop pulling Inko from her thoughts as grabbed her purse and her son's hand before walking out of the train and making her way to the hospital The walk from the trainstation to the hospital was short only around 5 or so minutes, but they had to wait as their doctor needed to run a few tests on his blood and other parts of his body soon she and Izuku were sitting in the room as their doctor a man by the name of Dr. Ren (Not the same doctor in canon) Dr. Ren examined the computer screen on his desk for a few minutes before turning to the mother-son pair.
"Alright sorry for the wait Ms. Midoriya the test results just came in and from what we could find it seems your son does have a quirk and a rather potent one at that as his "Quirk Potential" is through the roof," Dr. Ren said showing the screen to the duo "And from what we can see it's a mutant type as well," he said before gaining a deeply confused look "This can't be right" he muttered before fixing his glasses as he began to type away at the computer.
"Wow look at that your potential is through the roof" Denki commented from behind Midoriya.
"I wonder what's wrong," Ochako said worried, unbeknownst to her Midoriya was having a small anxiety attack as it seemed this was a true turning point at where his universe and the one they were watching truly diverted plus he was super excited to see what his other self's quirk was.
"I wonder what this other Midoriya's quirk is"* He said pulling his notebook out.
"What's the matter is something wrong doctor?" She asked confused and worried at the reaction "The tests also show he has aspects of an emitter quirk as well" he said this caused even more confusion from the mother "How is that possible? I thought quirks could only be one type" she asked.
The audience was just as puzzled by the reveal.
"Yeah, how does that work?" Denki questioned scratching his head confused.
"I thought quirks could only be one of the three types," Jirou said twirling her earlobe with her hand.
"Well technically quirks can have certain aspects of other types like Ochako's fingertips could classify as a mutant aspect" Momo described causing the brunette to look at her own hands in astonishment and a few others to at Momo in a similar way.
"Well put Ms. Yaoyorozu indeed quirks can retain certain aspects of different quirks such as the example you've put forwards but given the reaction, the doctor has it goes to show this isn't the case so I suggest we keep watching," Nezu said praising the tall girl which caused her to blush.
Izuku scribbled down dozens of possible ideas of what his alternative self's quirk could be.
"Normally they should be, you see normally a quirk can only be one of 3 types Emitter, Mutant, and Transformation, and we can tell what a quirk can be through a series of tests, and through these tests, your son's quirk registered as both a mutant and emitter class quirk" he explained as best he could to Inko, meanwhile little Izuku was rather quiet as his young mind tried to process the new information, his mind ran a mile a minute as izuku tried to think how this was possible based on what information he read in his books.
"Even as a kid, you think a mile a minute," All Might said smiling with a bit of pride despite the kid on screen not being his successor he was sure by the current display that this Izuku and his were the same in that aspect.
"Izuku dear" he was pulled from his thoughts as he looked up at his mother and doctor "Sorry" he muttered quietly bashfully rubbing his arm "Oh no need to apologize Midoriya," his doctor said waving off the child's worry "We were suggesting a few further tests to see if we can identify why your quirk is registering as both an emitter and a mutant quirk, there is nothing wrong with you we just want to see what is up with this unusual feature alright?" he asked. Izuku nodded simply not knowing how else to respond.
With that, the screen turned off causing several exclamations from the audience and the stranger's voice broke the silence
"Sorry but that's the end of this secession so please be patient and go grab some snacks and use the bathroom there will be a 20-minute break before I start the next viewing I'll give you a call when it's time" they said appearing back up front.
"Aww man, and it was just getting to the good part" Kaminari complained standing up and stretching.
"Yeah it was but man I need to take a Wizz," Kirishima said and left the room to find the said location of his mind, while most others either did the same, went to get snacks, or stayed in their seats Bakugou was one such student til he was approached by Aizawa, noticing his teacher he scowled.
"What do you want?" He snarled.
"You have a few questions to answer" He responded.
