Chapter 2

She and Lily exchanged letters for the next few months, along with pictures of their families and children. she even found out that the “Thomas” mentioned in the picture was the Potter house cat.

She couldn’t wait for Hadrian and her little Dudley to meet. Dudley was such a nice toddler, he hardly ever cried, and he was so sweet.

According to Lily, Hadrian was similar, and very overprotective of his friends (Lily’s friend’s kids), and was already excelling at learning to control his accidental magic, all on his own.

She even got a photo last night, if everyone in their Halloween costumes. It was adorable.

She woke, and Decided to write her reply to lily after she made breakfast.

Petunia moved quietly out of her room as she tied her bath robe, not wanting to wake her husband or their child that was in the crib next to their bed.

She slipped her slippers on and opened the front door to collect the milk and eggs. She was met with the sight of a small baby, Hadrian.

Being completely honest with herself, petunia screamed. She was terrified for her nephew, who leaves a child on a doorstep on a November morning? He could’ve frozen to death.

The only things keeping the poor child relatively warm was a measly baby blanket with the four hogwarts houses, and Thomas, the Potter’s orange house cat, who looked to have walked the entire way from the Potter house just to ensure the baby’s safety.

Hadrian was clutching a stuffed badger that petunia remembered from a photo, and he was asleep. Thomas the cat had a bag strung around his neck with what appeared to be some of Hadrian’s clothes, toys, and blankets, how a cat knew to grab all of those things, could only be explained with “magic”. Although magical cats were a bit smarter than muggle.

Hearing her scream, Vernon rushed to the door.

“Petunia honey? Is everything alri-“

His eyes fell onto the baby.

“Oh dear. Isn’t that-“

“Yes. It’s our nephew” petunia answered.

“Alright” he picked up the basket in one hand and the cat in the other “let’s get these two warm”.
