Halloween
The month of October came to an end, and a lot of things happened during this month. Misty, Ritchie, Chloe and Gou decided to clear Junior school by the end of the year instead of going at a slow pace. Mairin pouted as she just started school and will have to study and pass the first half with high marks to be considered ready to take more. Alain on the other hand had cleared both Junior and Junior High and was considering whether or not to continue and finish high school as well. He looked at Red and Green who were already handling jobs that too well paid ones if the amount of money in their accounts were anything to go by. He had been curious at one point and had asked only to whistle impressed, at the decent amount they get monthly.
Flashback:
Red, "You know, just because we are already working it doesn't mean you have to as well."
Alain, "Yeah?"
Green ruffled his hair earning a squawk, "Yeah! What we do is actually helping us achieve our personal goals, so if you want to do something. It must be something that pushes you to move forward and fulfil your dreams."
Alain looked at Green, "Dreams?"
Red chuckled, "Humans are complex in nature. You didn't think, you would have only one dream right?"
Alain nodded his head, "I want to research and be the best researcher in the world."
Red smiled, "And that's a fine dream, but I don't think that's all you want."
Alain nodded, "That's true. I want to do other things too like see the world and become a strong trainer."
Green, "There ya go! Don't worry about having more than one dream or goal. You are allowed to have them."
Alain simply nodded not bothering to answer them verbally. He would not admit it but his little crushes had become stronger, the more time he spent with them. He looked down trying to hide his tiny blush although looking at Green's smug face and Red's soft smile, he got the feeling they knew. They knew, but didn't act on it and was willing to wait till he understood his own feelings better to make a decision.
Flashback end!
Alain looked at the boys in Green's room, he couldn't believe it was large enough to occupy them all. Ash was helping Ritchie put on his Prince outfit while Gary helped Gou dress up as Raboot. Scorbunny looked touched Gou chose a Raboot to dress up as but he concluded, he would look cute without a doubt in it. Ash and Gary had decided to dress up as Umbreon and Espeon while their Pokemon would dress up as the rest of the eeveelutions.
Red poked his face, "Let's dress you up."
Green grinned behind him holding up a couple of costumes, "We have a few for you to choose from."
Alain sweated a bit before blurting, "I want the blue one."
Red hummed, "Ah! Isn't that Sir Aaron's outfit?"
Green took out a very familiar looking dress, "Why! Yes, yes it is!"
The two pounced on Alain and started to push him behind the divider so he can change. Ash and Gary snickered at his bewildered expression as he went to change. Ash put the imitation ears on Gou's head before stepping back and allowing his friend to see how he looked. Meanwhile Gary helped Ritchie with the pins on his Prince outfit getting grumblings from the red head.
Gou, "Nice! What do you guys think?"
Scorbunny, -I like it.-
Swift, -Not bad.-
Speed, -Next time you are dressing as a Nickit.-
Gale, -Definitely!-
Ritchie, "Why did I pick such a complicated dress?"
Gary, "Hush, you big baby. We are almost done ~"
Ritchie muttered, "Yes mom."
Sparky, -Do we need to dress up too?-
Pikachu, -It's half the fun you know.-
Zippo, -I hope I don't burn this thing.-
Eevee, -You'll be fine. It's non flammable.-
Charmander, -He's right, just relax, yeah?-
Litten simply yawned, -Are we done yet?-
Gary finished putting the last pin, "Okay. Have a look."
Ritchie looked at the mirror, "Despite the trouble, I don't look so bad."
Ash, "Yup! Big brother, what about you?"
Red grinned, "Waiting for Alain to come out first."
Alain came out fixing his hat, "I can't believe this fits."
Ash's eyes sparkled, "You look good."
Gary had stars in his eyes, "Alain is very handsome."
Ritchie nodded, "Uh huh! Uh huh!"
Gou blushed, "Like a hero from a fairytale."
Alain smiled face flushing pink at the praises, "Thank you."
Red, "My turn!"
After a good fifteen minutes, he walked out dressed in black and gold with a yellow rimmed fedora that he tipped forward, "Chaos!"
Ash squealed, "Very handsome!"
Gary looked him up and down, "Holy Mew!"
Gou, "WOAH!"
Alain simply nodded, cheeks a little pink as he looked at Red, 'Woah indeed.'
Ritchie, "Damn!"
Green, "Now me!"
Green took considerably a little longer than Red but he walked out holding a wooden staff coloured in gold, wearing a golden helmet and dress in green, silver and black, "Bow down peasants! It is I Loki, Prince and rightful ruler of Asgard!"
Red clapped, "Nice!"
Ash and Gary had stars, "Awesome!"
Ritchie, "That was so cool!"
Gou was blushing, "Very cool!"
Alain looked between the boys, "You two clean up really nice. I bet we will have many girls swooning over you."
Red, "Let's go meet the girls and go trick or treating."
Everyone cheered and went out to meet up with the girls, who were getting ready at the same time as them.
Misty, "Daisy, I don't know about this..."
Lily poked her little sister, "Relax Misty, you look great."
Violet, "Yeah, just trust us okay."
Misty, "But how am I supposed to walk around in a mermaid costume?"
Daisy, "You can because this costume has a split here for you to walk."
Misty looked at it dubiously, "Is that safe?"
Staryu and Goldeen looked at their partner in amusement. Despite the complaints and whining, they knew their friend and partner actually enjoyed the attention she got from her sisters. When Staryu had first woken up he was honestly wary of humans and kept his distance no matter what she did. But that stubborn child, because that's exactly what she was, a child, kept on visiting him, bringing him berries and spent time with him even though he ignored her. He would have to be a liar to say he was not interested in her stories or her for that matter. A month after staying to recover, it was time to return to his pod, he saw her smiling sadly as she waved goodbye to him and told him not to get caught again. Two days after he was back with his pod, he realized much to his own annoyance, he grew attached, to a human child. A day after the realization he found himself swimming up the Cerulean cove and following the river ways back to the city. It took some time but he found her again sitting by one of the river bank with a fishing rod humming to herself. Staryu flew from the water surprising her and watched as she gaped at him first before recognition dawned and welcomed him back by hugging him. He didn't regret it!
Lily, "And done! What do you think of our little mermaid?"
Staryu, -Beautiful!-
Goldeen, -Very beautiful!-
Violet, "I think, they approve ~"
The three older sisters grinned as they let Misty out and motioned Chloe to come inside. Yamper rushed in and made himself comfortable on one of the tables. Chloe had brought her Alice in Pokeland, costume with her and even wore it, she just had problems styling her hair up. Violet took one look before going 'Ah ha!', and took out some hair straightener, stylers and a pair of scissors.
Violet, "Okay Chloe! I have an idea, but for that to work we need a little trimming."
Chloe looked a little thoughtful, "Will it take long? I need to dress Yamper up too."
Violet, "Half an hour at most."
Chloe, "That's fine... You know, I'm glad Leaf allowed us to use her room to play dress-up."
Leaf walked in wrapped in a towel grinning, "Good to hear that it's appreciated."
Chloe eeped turning her eyes to the floor, getting chuckles from the other girls, "Wha.. What are you wearing to the festival?"
Leaf giggled, "Relax Chloe, and I was thinking Miss Zombie as Bill was going as Mr Zombie."
Lily, "Ooooooh! A couples costume."
Violet, "All done! What do you think?"
Chloe looked at her hair that was done with a mixture of French braid and Princess curls, "Wao! Is that me?"
Leaf smiled softly, "Yes, it is! Why don't you go and show Misty and ask Mairin to come? It's her turn now."
Chloe nodded, "Okay!"
Leaf, "Cute kid!"
Mairin rushed in, "My turn! My turn! My turn!"
Leaf laughed at the enthusiasm, "Sit down kiddo. We'll dress you up as the scariest monster that you want to be."
Mairin jumped excited, "I'll be the most scary."
The girls giggled at the cuteness of the youngest addition to their family and proceeded to help her dress up and put on child friendly makeup. The excited girl could barely stay in place as they helped her get ready. They didn't mind however, they were happy she was so active and not scared of the adults around her anymore. Leaf helped Mairin put on the dress, which was a were Lycanroc, while Violet did her hair and Lily and Daisy put on her shoes before letting her join the others.
Mairin went outside and saw the boys had joined Misty and Chloe, "Hey guys! How do I look?"
Alain smiled, "Very adorable, baby cuz."
Mairin pouted, "I'm supposed to be scary."
Gary pat her head, "That's just his big brother side talking, you look scary."
Misty grinned, "Definitely terrifying."
They talked while they waited for a bit and soon Lily came down greeting them, dressed as a Butterfree followed by Violet who dressed up as a witch and Daisy dressed as Nurse Joy. Leaf came down after half an hour dressed up as a Lady Zombie ready for a party.
Leaf, "Yosh! Let's get this show on the road."
Everyone gave a shout and Leaf set some ground rules first. The first rule being always stay near her or one of the older siblings. The second rule was not to wander off on their own as it was already dark. Third rule always keep the Pokemon nearby. Fourth rule was, if separated to go to the nearest booth stall and wait, the workers will inform one of them to pick them up.
Leaf, "Okay kids? Do you understand?"
Ash, Gary, Misty, Gou, Ritchie, Chloe and Mairin nodded and the group went out to the streets lit by lanterns and decorative lights. There were Jack o lanterns everywhere both artificial and crafted from pumpkin. The kids grinned as they saw the lanterns they had made, out front with lights in them. They had prepared them the day before and Leaf and Bill had taken them to place them out in the front porch with lights inside. They split up into three three groups, Leaf joined by Bill took Gou and Chloe with them, Lily, Violet and Daisy took Misty and Mairin, while Red, Green and Alain took Ash, Gary and Ritchie around to trick or treating. They met up at the main festive grounds where they met with their families who had arrived just a little bit ago.
Gou, "Mom, Dad, you made it."
Misty, "Mommy Daddy you are here."
Ritchie, "Ma, Pa."
Chloe, "Dad, mum! Hey~"
The parents were just as happy to see them, especially their adorable little costumes and complimented them. Augustine looked Alain and Mairin over and gave a content smile watching them enjoy themselves. Blue and Cypress gave him a look of understanding when they saw the look in his eyes, they had the same look from time to time. The night of festivities ended with another firework show in the shape of many Halloween themed designs getting a lot of awed looks.
