The Sycamore Family
The sleepover went on quite well for the group of friends, after locking up the greenhouse they returned to the main house and had a warm dinner. Leaf had bonded with Lily and the two of them had become pretty close. She could tell that Lily sensed something from her but she didn't pry nor did she question her. Green, Ritchie and Ash were cleaning up the dishes as Red, Gou, Chloe and Misty had made the food. Red was with entertaining everyone with stories about how he met his Pokemon the first time. Misty and Gou were very sad learning about what happened to Riolu's parents but perked up when told that Riolu thought of Red as her Papa.
Misty sighed wistfully, "I wonder, if one day I'll be a mama for a Pokemon."
Chloe nudged her friend, "You will need to work hard. I'm sure you can do it."
Gou grinned looking at the Riolu relaxing on Red's lap, "I'm glad Riri is happy and safe."
Pikachu, -I know Ash would be awesome as a parent.-
Eevee chimed in, -Gary is an awesome parent. He took care of me after all.-
Swift the youngest Nickit, -Gou takes good care of us so.-
Sparky, -Maybe in the future. It's not like we can find Poke eggs just like that.-
Charmander looked at Litten, -Yeah!-
Litten remembering the Numel, -It's not.-
Yamper, -Let's just see what happens.-
Riri hearing her name smiled at Gou making him coo at the young aura Pokemon. Red smiled rubbing the young pup's furry head, he had been worried in the beginning that the loss of her parents would affect her really badly. However, she had bonded with him before she was born and he became her father in everything but blood. He wouldn't have it any other way, Riri was an angel and kept him too busy to worry about his nightmares. They were soon joined by Green and the three boys and Green took the turn to tell his own story about the shenanigans in Saffron city, making the kids laugh at some of the stories.
Leaf looked at the clock, "Alright kiddos, it's late now. Time for bed yeah?"
Lily nodded, "You guys can play together tomorrow as well."
Ash yawned, "Yeah, I guess."
Misty rubbed her eyes, "Ah, I do feel a little tired now that you mention it."
Chloe grabbed Misty's hand, "Let's take the bed Misty, we can share. Lily can join us too."
Gou hugged Ash, "I'll join Ash then."
Ritchie looked at Gary, "Guess, it's us tonight."
Gary laughed, "Sure, why not."
So they went to get some sleep with, Chloe, Misty and Lily taking one of the guest room, Red, Ash and Gou in Ash's room, Green, Gary and Ritchie took Red's room and finally Leaf took the extra guest room. It took sometime before the kids could fall asleep, but fifteen minutes of laying in bed and they were out in dreamland. Ash woke up to Gou clinging to him in the morning. He couldn't see Pikachu or the other Pokemon, but he guessed they were off getting breakfast. He smiled thinking about how Molly used to cling to him when she was with them. Unfortunately she had to return home once the week was up, she was pretty upset at being separated. Ash grabbed his Snorlax pillow and put Gou's hand around it before going to the bathroom. He could smell the fried bacon, eggs, buttered toast and fresh coffee being made. He left the door open so that the smell wakes Gou up as well. Ash had stepped out of the bathroom after brushing and a shower to see Gou rubbing his head and sniffing the air.
Ash smiled, "Good morning Gou."
Gou rubbed his eyes, "Morning Ash."
Ash pointed down the hall, "Bathroom is empty. If you wanna go, now is the best time."
Gou yawned before getting down and going towards the bathroom, Ash giggled at his sleepy state. He took out the toothbrush and paste, soap, towels and change of clothes from Gou's bag and went after him. Ash went downstairs after Gou had taken the items from him. Ritchie and Gary were already awake and helping Lily and Leaf make breakfast. Misty was still sleeping, while Chloe had joined Red and Green in making food for the Pokemon. Gou soon joined them seventeen minutes later look fresh and awake, followed by Misty who joined ten minutes later. The group had a very heart breakfast together before going out.
Green washed his plates, "Red and I are going to the lab. Gramps is having a few guest that he wants us accompany. A Professor Sycamore and his family."
Leaf brightened, "Professor Sycamore is here? Awesome. I'll go to greet him later."
Red smiled, "He came with his adopted son and daughter, Alain and Mairin Sycamore. We are to accompany the two siblings and show them around."
Lily grinned, "Why don't you bring them here? We would love the company."
Green nodded before going out with Red towards the lab. They were accompanied by Riolu, who was being held by Red and Wartotle while the other Pokemon stayed inside the pokeballs and relaxed. Pallet town was relatively peaceful and they did not expect anything untoward to happen here. Wartotle was entertaining Riri by making bubbles that floated around her. Red was smiling when walking alongside Green, who had an arm around his shoulder. They soon reached the lab and went inside to greet the Professor and his guests.
Green, "Morning Gramps, we are here."
Red smiled, "Morning Professor."
Samuel, "Red, Green good morning, I would like you to meet Professor Augustine Sycamore and his lovely family. These are Alain Sycamore and Mairin Sycamore, his son and daughter."
Red smiled, "Welcome to Kanto and Pallet town."
Green, "Hope you are enjoying your stay here."
Augustine, "Thank you kids. It's a pleasure to meet one of the youngest Psychic and Aura user.... Don't look shocked, as the regional Professor, I'm duty bound to know about it."
Red nodded, "I guess, I should have expected it."
Augustine smiled, "These are my kids."
He pushed the young boy and even a much younger girl to the front. The young girl squeaked before hiding behind the dark haired boy and looking at the two shyly. Green smiled softly before sitting down to her height. A Charmander was clinging to the dark haired boy's other leg pant watching them. Red smiled at them gently getting a blush from Mairin and a tentative smile from Alain.
Green, "Hello kiddo. I'm Green and this here is my best friend Red."
Mairin looked at them, "I'm Mairin, Mairin Sycamore. Nice to meet you."
She hid her face again while Alain introduced himself, "I'm Alain Sycamore. It's good to be here."
Samuel, "Why don't you show these two around? Augustine and I have a few things to talk about."
Green got up, "Sure gramps, don't worry about it. Come on you two, we'll introduce you to our siblings as well as show you around."
Red held his hand out, "Come on, you will not regret it."
Alain looked back at Augustine who smiled at him encouragingly. Mairin looked up at him, whatever he did, she would follow. Alain then took a breath and took Red's hand and allowed himself to be pulled along by the older boy. Green smiled and went after them after reassuring the Professor, his kids would be fine. Once they were gone Augustine gave a sigh and a sad smile. He remembers when the two had come to him, they were hurt very badly from a well planned attack by an unknown team. Unfortunately their parents had not survived what happened three years ago, they were bluntly speaking murdered.
Samuel, "Professor Sycamore, if you would come this way. These are the mega evolution stones we have discovered so far."
Augustine followed the older Professor, "Coming Professor Oak, please call me Augustine. We'll be working together for a while after all."
Samuel laughed, "In that case call me Samuel or Sam."
As the adults discussed the reasons and existence of the stones, while the kids were making their way through the fields connected to the labs. Mairin was looking at the Pokemon wide eyed and Alain had relaxed a bit before letting Red's hand go while coughing. His ears were a little pink when he realized he was still holding the older boy's hand, though it didn't look like Red minded. Green was explaining all the different types of Pokemon that were present in the ranch.
Green smiled, "How about we introduce you to our Pokemon?"
Mairin looked at Green, "Yours? Yes please!"
Red smiled before releasing his Pokemon which were Pikachu, Serperior, Charmeleon and Primeape that he had battled and caught a month ago. Green released his own Pokemon which were Alakazam, Braxien, Wartotle and Drowzee. They greeted their trainers before turning to the two new humans and greeting them. Mairin was looking at them in awe, while Alain was impressed.
Alain fingered the ball on his waist, "I have one more Pokemon I caught a few days before coming here."
Red, "We would love to meet them."
Alain looked at the older boy before nodding and releasing his second Pokemon, "Hey Beldum, I want to introduce you to some new friends I made."
The Beldum floated around curiously greeting the new Pokemon before giving an eye smile and mingling with them. Green was very excited to see a Beldum and was asking all sort of questions about her. Alain was a bit taken back by the sudden excitement but answered the questions before Red pulled Green away from his personal space. Mairin laughed at the antics and Alain joined her, Red and Green laughed as well.
Red, "Well, we introduced you to our Pokemon, now how about we introduce you to our siblings. We can even get lunch together as well."
Mairin smiled unsure, it had been a while since she interacted with anyone outside of Alain and her new Dad. She bit her lip but nodded her head, Alain held her hand as he smiled at her and followed the older boys as they led them down the path towards the next house. The Pokemon were around them chatting in their language and sharing stories with each other. It was a very peaceful walk but the moment they reached the front door, they heard a scream coming from behind the house.
Red sighed, "They are back at the greenhouse."
Green shivered, "I'll never get used to it."
Alain looked at them bewildered, "Um what was....... What?"
Mairin was looking wide eyed, "That didn't sound welcoming."
The Pokemon looked exasperated as they explained to the Charmander and Beldum what it was. Green simply went inside and Red ushered them to go in as well before entering himself and closing the door. They were greeted by Leaf and Lily who were making lunch for everyone. Green had offered to help but Lily declined saying they could handle it but asked him to get the little munchkins from the greenhouse.
Red chuckled, "Come on. I'll introduce you to our siblings. They are no doubt showing the others how to make mandrake potion."
Alain perked up at that, 'That's the latest anti - paralysis potion.'
Mairin, "Huh!! Isn't that the new pricey potion in the market?"
Green looked at her, "You have heard about it."
Mairin, "Dad got a big batch of it a few months ago. He gives a bottle to a trainer if they do exceptionally well in the trainers test."
Red gave an understanding look, "I see. That's not a bad idea."
They reached the greenhouse and opened the door, the screaming having stopped a few minutes ago thankfully. They led them to the part of the greenhouse that held the mandrakes and they could see Ash in full teacher mode showing Ritchie and Misty how to prep the mandrakes for the potion. Gary on the other hand was showing Gou and Chloe how to care for the plants. Alain looked at the plants that were moving around and the first thing that came to his mind was Pokemon.
Green laughed, "No Alain, mandrakes are not Pokemon. They are sentient plants yes but not Pokemon."
Alain and Mairin looked at Green bewildered at that and pointed at the plants moving, but Green simply smiled and led them inside and introduced them to the rest of the kids. Ash and Gary welcomed the Sycamore siblings warmly and Misty and Chloe invited Mairin to sit with them. Mairin smiled shyly before going to join the girls sitting together at the work table. Red informed them lunch was almost done so to clean up and get lunch. Alain watched them a little unsure if he wanted to become friends. He was still hurting from losing his parents and didn't want to get close to anyone else and lose them too.
