Chapter 23

Minji had left early, explaining to Siyeon’s parents that she had a family emergency and wished she could stay longer.

In reality, Minji didn’t really want to be in that house any longer. If Siyeon viewed her that way, how could she stay there and know that her girlfriend was staring at her with the assumption she wasn’t clean?

Bora sat in the clinic's waiting room, skimming through a magazine she found to be mildly interesting when she saw her best friend walk out into the waiting room. She watched her step to the counter, and speak with the person at the desk briefly before getting a small card. She was wondering why she had gotten the card and was all around confused as to why she suddenly needed Bora to drive her to the clinic when she was perfectly capable of driving herself.

“Ready?” Minji asked quietly.

When they sat in the car, Bora hesitated briefly before starting the car.

“Why did you need me for this? Is your car in the shop?” She asked.

“No…” Minji answered.

“Then?” Bora finally turned to her, seeing the uncertainty in her eyes. “And please don’t tell me you cheated on this Siyeon girl again and now you’re pregnant with some guy’s child…” She frowned.

“I’m not!” Minji shouted. “We… Had an eye-opening conversation… and… It stuck with me… So I needed to check something…” she sighed.

“What kind?”

“She asked if I was clean… That she didn’t want to sleep with me if I wasn’t…” Minji sighed.

Bora looked away briefly, feeling a few emotions course through her. She wasn’t sure if she was shocked at the amount of courage Siyeon had to speak like that or the fact that it was incredibly offensive to just out and say something like that.

“And… Do you know?” Bora frowned.

“Fourty-Eight hours…” Minji sighed. “Is it bad that I hope I have something so she’ll break up with me?” She whispered.

Bora looked over at her best friend, seeing the tears in her eyes as she stared at the dashboard in front of her.

“Do you not like her anymore?” Bora frowned.

“Bboya, I love her… And when she looked at me like that… I couldn’t even breathe… She had this disgusted and worried look on her face… Like I was some kind of monster to her…” She sniffed. “What if she never trusts me again? What if this is just a front to her saying she can’t trust me because I cheated on her? That she can’t trust me to not do it again…” She cried.

“It might,” Bora shrugged, seeing her best friend finally look up at her. “I’m not going to sit here and lie to you. You royally fucked up… And now you have to deal with those consequences… Just because she took you back doesn’t mean she fully trusts you. She can say all she wants how in love with you she is, but… In the back of her mind… She’s still going to remember those moments and how much they killed her.”

Bora started her car, deciding that it was enough with their conversation and to head back. She knew she was harsh on Minji, but she needed to hear the truth about everything.

Yoohyeon lay on Siyeon’s bed, playing a phone game while Siyeon was busy redoing the entire preset settings on a dinosaur toy she had gotten from the store earlier that day. Siyeon had been quieter than normal, and everything seemed offputting that Minji still wasn’t around.

“Where did Minji go?” Yoohyeon asked without taking her focus off the game.

“She said she had a family emergency,” Siyeon muttered without looking back at her best friend.

“Oh, so she just left? Shame. She’s fun to be around.” Yoohyeon didn’t hear the breath Siyeon let out, but she did hear the tools hitting her desk.

“I think she left because I was kind of honest with her…” Siyeon whispered.

“About the sex thing?” Yoohyeon paused her game, turning to look at her best friend.

“I told her I didn’t want to because what if she has a disease…” She frowned.

“Siyeon, what the fuck! You don’t just say that!” Yoohyeon shouted. “And I know you! You can’t just out and say it without leading up to it!” She scolded.

“I didn’t just say it randomly! She was telling me how she wanted to take the next step and I thought it was an appropriate time to bring it up! I’m not going to tell her that I’m okay with that!! And the other thing, I didn’t even tell her! I lied!” Siyeon yelled.

“You lied.” Yoohyeon glared at her, watching the older woman nod her head.

“I lied,” Siyeon sighed.

“You are so impossible…” The younger woman let out an audible groan, her hands already rubbing her face. “What did you say?”

“She asked if I wasn't attracted to her sexually… and I said no…” Siyeon whispered.

“I hate you.”

“What was I supposed to say?! That I’m not interested in the whole thing altogether?!”

“YES! SIYEON YOU’RE VERY STUPID!!!” Yoohyeon shouted.

“Do you know how hard that is?!” Siyeon shouted back. “It was hard explaining it to my mom, please don’t make it harder for me now,” She whispered.

“You… told your mom?” Yoohyeon asked.

“Yes I told my mom! And she told me she was happy that I wasn’t out sleeping with people. But then she said how did I know if I didn’t like sex if I never had it,” She frowned.

“You think it’s dirty, disgusting and it doesn’t do anything for you… Remember when you tried—”

“We are not talking about that,” Siyeon glared.

“I’m just saying if you don't like self pleasure then you’re certainly not going to like it from another person!” Yoohyeon pointed. “But if you tell her you don’t want it at all, period… I’m sure she’ll understand. Rather than you thinking she’s carrying fucking diseases,” She scoffed. “You know for that I ought to kick your ass. Not because I’m defending her but because of how stupid that was,” She frowned.

“I didn’t say I was smart.”

“Clearly!!”
