Summary
The two women flirted back and forth for months, talked to each other almost like lovers but never made a move to overstep the already crossed line of “just friends”Yet.

Erin knew that the eccentric blonde had wiggled her way into her heart with absolute ease when her eyes met pure blue for the first time.

She slowly began to realise how much the small woman meant to her and why her lingering touches would always leave an imaginary burn mark that definitely wasn’t there but she could feel it.

She could see the sparks when their eyes met accidentally, a quick blush flushing over her own cheeks, making her skin glow a soft pink as she teared her eyes away.

She didn’t know why but they just clicked. Erin understood Holtz more than she ever thought she would. She was hard to puzzle together at first but Erin wanted to figure her out, and she did.

Sure these feelings made her feel nervous but from the way the blonde looked at her, memorising every freckle on the bridge of her nose, eyes travelling over every smile line, she knew it was going to be okay.

Because when Erin flirted back, playing with the engineer’s feelings as Holtz had to Erin many, many times before, she saw the way the blonde got flustered and had to turn away to keep her cool and it made Erin smile knowing she had such an effect on Holtz.

The two women flirted back and forth for months, talked to each other almost like lovers but never made a move to overstep the already crossed line of “just friends”

Yet.

Because it wasn’t as if Erin didn’t think about it, she thought about it often, had daydreams about it, wondering what it would be like to lean a little closer and catch the blonde’s soft looking lips with her own.

It wasn’t as though Erin didn’t zone out and think about hands roaming aimlessly over the engineer’s every curve, tracing freckles and scars from reckless projects with her fingers.

Holtz clicked her fingers in Erin’s face, bringing her back from another universe. Her eyes met Holtz’s, pupils fully blown and dilated but didn’t say a thing.

Not yet. She couldn’t.

“Are you okay?”

“Mm hm.” Erin hummed, closing her eyes and opening them again.

Holtz licked her bottom lip, cheeks growing pink and she quickly walked away and warmth pooled low within Erin’s stomach.

Their playful flirting became something more real and it was definitely the way lovers would speak to each other.

They complimented the other, sometimes without using words, just by a single look would say everything.

Say how beautiful, pretty or gorgeous the other was without even needing to say it.

They still did.

But they didn’t always need to.

It was becoming something andErin could barely take it anymore. She had to know.

So she finally, finally had to do something about it, for her own sake because fuck she literally couldn’t think straight.

Erin walked up and into Holtz’s lab, the door wide open as usual. Holtzmann was working on something, she wasn’t really sure what, she couldn’t remember.

“Hey, hot stuff, what’s up?” Holtz smiled the minute Erin met her side, she flipped her golden lenses off and placed them on her work table and spun on her stool to meet the physicist’s eyes.

Erin stepped closer, “Tell me to stop and I’ll stop.”

“Wha-“ Holtz didn’t get to finish her question before soft lips met hers.

She didn’t tell Erin to stop. Her eyes fluttered shut.

She kissed her back immediately as hands flew to Erin’s hips, grasping the sides of her shirt and pulling her closer.

The blonde gasped into the brunette’s mouth as Erin took Holtz’s bottom lip between her teeth, pulling gently.

“What-“ Holtz breathed, “Where’s this came from?”

“I had to know.” Erin replied, pulling the blonde from where she sat, placing her hands around her back and bringing her closer to her.

“You had to know what?” Holtz looked Erin in the eyes, blue meeting blue.

“That something was definitely there.”

Holtz smiled, dimples revealing on either side of her cheeks. “Definitely something here.”

“I just wanted to be 100% sure and I knew you weren’t going to budge.”

“How do you know?” Holtz raised an eyebrow.

Erin shrugged, “Because when I catch you looking at me, you run away flustered.”

“No I do not.” Holtz pulled her face away a little to fully look at Erin.

Erin only nodded with a bright smile growing on her lips. She was 100% right.

“I don’t get flustered.”

“Yes you do, now please shut up.” Erin breathed, leaning in again and kissing Holtz softly.

Not another word was spoken as Erin pushed her up against her work table, kissing her deeply.
