Chapter 7
Hollyleaf had just finished eating a mouse after talking to Dovewing when Lionblaze entered camp. "Can I speak to you in private" Lionblaze asked. "Sure!" Hollyleaf replied happy to have a chat with her brother but then she realised what it would concern, Cinderheart.
"Well," Lionblaze started, "It has recently come to my attention that Cinderheart has abandoned me for you."
"That is her descion, not mine take up your quarrel with her."
Leaving her brother still suprised she went back to camp
Bramblestar called everyone to gather at the highledge for a clan meeting Hollyleaf came in and settled near Cinderheart who had recently come from the warriors den after having a well deserved sleep.
Bramblestar was about to begin when Lionblaze muttered something in his ear. "Before I welcome back Hollyleaf fully, Lionblaze has something to announce."
Hollyleaf grimaced the light of the half-moon reflected off of Lionblaze's golden pelt.
Suddenly, Lionblaze began speaking, "Although you may think that me and Cinderheart are mates, that is not the case."
A few yowls rang out asking who was then. Bramblestar seemed to be regreting his desicion. "No," Lionblaze continued, "Her true mate is Hollyleaf!" All heads turned to look at Cinderheart and Hollyleaf who were sitting unusually close together. "You're no better than Ashfur you fox heart!" Yowled Cinderheart, "Why does it matter who I love and if you think this is your way of winning me back you're mousebrained!"
In the corner of her eye Hollyleaf spotted the medicine cats coming back from the moonpool and as Lionblaze continued to try and show the clan why he thought that Cinderheart should be his Jayfeather spoke up. "Starclan has sent me a dream!" he declared bringing silence to the gathered cats as they listened, "A holly bush amidst with the cinders of a fire scared off a mighty lion!"
The entire clearing erupted into chaos Hollyleaf could hear yowls of questions and answers, "What does it mean?" "The meaning is obvious !" "Does this mean starclan allows two she cats to be together?" Bramblestar called for silence, at once everyone stopped, First he addressed Lionblaze, " I am dissapointed that you woud bring such a petty quarral to a clan meeting."
Finally Bramblestar was able to complete the ceremony of welcoming Hollyleaf back.
