Chapter 4
Cinderheart awoke. Lionblaze slept calmly next to her. Carefully she got to her paws making sure not to wake anybody. She felt a cool breeze wash over her and the moon that lay high in sky illuminated the outline of a cat across the clearing. Dovewing! She padded over and was greeted with a question almost at once. "Do you think that I'm making the right choice being with Bumblestripe, he obviously like me but..." Dovewing paused, "I'm not sure I feel the same way." Cinderheart nodded " It's the same with me."
"Is there anyone else your intrested in" Dovewings question made Cinderheart jump, "Your actions indicate that there is." Doveing teased, "Who is it?" She questioned clearly highly intrigued.
"Do you promise you won't tell anyone?" Cinderheart asked.
"I wouldn't dream of it!" Dovewing answered.
Cinderheart swallowed allowing Dovewing to see how nervous she was. "Are you going to to tell me or cotinue to sit there like a star struck kit?" Dovewing joked.
Cinderheart gathered all of her courage before speaking in a low tone, "It's..." she began to trail off "Hollyleaf" she finished, "But you can't tell her!"
"Keep your fur on I would never sell you out like that," Dovewing replied calmly. "How are you going to tell Lionblaze, after all, Hollyleaf is his sister."
Cinderheart paused for a moment, "I hadn't thought of that," she replied, "And," she began cutting whtever Dovewing was about to say, "Before I think about it, who are you intrested in?"
"Nobody," Dovewing answered, "And I don't need to, because this was all a trap, there is nothing wrong between me and Bumblestripe."
"You tricked me!" Cinderheart gasped.
Just before Dovewing could make another joke, Hollyleaf appeared from the warriors den. "What are you talking about?" Hollyleaf inquired. Cinderheart looked at her paws and shuffeled them around, however Dovewing was quick to answer, "Nothing" Dovewing winked at Cinderheart making her feel hot with embarrassment.
"Well," Hollyleaf began, "This 'nothing' is quite loud!" and with that Hollyleaf trotted back to the warriors den.
