Honestly Viktor didn't know what to expect when his father packed him up and sent him to college but as he entered his first class he decided it was nothing like this. He sat down in the last row of the lecture hall to take notes on his Intro to Omega Studies class. Pogo had insisted on the class with his father, so like all his other classes it was decided he'd do it.
The professor came into the room with a huge smile. The middle aged omega smiled at them as they walked up to the white board. Their hair was cropped jaw level and it fanned out the bottom, they had a flower blouse on that was tucked into a long black skirt, and they looked all together like someone Viktor would have seen on one of Klaus's movies from the 70's. The professor walked up to a stand in the middle of the room and sat down their papers.
"Hello everyone my name is Professor Turner but you all may call me Sheila. Now I want everyone to move together in groups of two or three with the people seated nearest to you. They are going to be your partner for the rest of the semester," Shella said clapping her hands together. Viktor looked around and watched as someone made their way down the row of chairs he was in. The young man sat next to him and extended his hand.
"Hello I'm Chuck Beaman. My pronouns are he/him and I'm a criminal justice major," he introduced politely. Viktor reached out and shook the man's hand.
"Viktor Hargreeves, he/they, music major," Viktor's voice sounded too soft even for him. He isn't use to speaking to many people. His own pack doesn't even desegregate him with the time of day anymore. Not after Ben died.
"It's lovely to meet you and I'm sure the two of us are going to be good friends," Chuck said beaming at the man. He had no idea him right his statement was. A few months later they were laying in Chuck's bed after Viktor had a particularly bad day. He seen a new broadcast about the academy back on missions. The panick and fear that held his heart wasn't soothed with an anxiety pill.
"Are you ready to talk yet?" Chuck asked as he pulled the small omega closer. He had been startled when Viktor had shown up on his door step crying. He had pull the omega in and let him nest in his room. Nesting wasn't allowed in the dorms unless an omega was close to heat but even with that rule it shouldn't have taken so long and so much reassurance to get the man to nest.
He had no idea what Viktor's home life was but he had a feeling it wasn't good. The feeling was comformed when the younger man started to cry again. Chuck held him tighter and kissed the top of his head murmuring sweet nothings to him.
"Do you know the Umbrella Academy?" Viktor asked after a while.
"The children superheroes?" He blinked confused.
"Yeah well Reginald Hargreeves didn't adopt just 6 kids. He adopted 7. I was the seventh child but I didn't have powers unlike my siblings. Last year on a mission my brother, Ben, died. Father suspended their missions until further notice but my roommate was watching the news today and they had a mission. Allison wasn't even there so it was just Luther and Diego arguing and Klaus staring off into space because he was high. They could have died and what's worse I don't know what happened to Allison and when I tried to call the house no one answered," Viktor let everything spill out before he could stop it. Father had been clear not to tell anyone he was associated with the Academy when he was sent away. He wasn't too far from home but it would take him hours to get there without a car.
"Would you like me to drive you up there? I can park and wait somewhere for you to come back to me, because if I remember correctly most of you siblings are alphas and they might not like me in their space," Chuck offered as he rubbed the omega's back. He could tell the omega needed reassurance that his family was safe.
"Would you? I mean you don't have to if it's going to be a trouble but," Viktor looked up at the man with pleading tear filled eyes. He just had to know if his family was alive and this amazing alpha was willing to take him there to check. He doesn't know how he'd ever repay him.
"Of course I will Viktor! Come on let's get a move on," Chuck said with a gentle smile at the man. They walked down to the car together. Chuck realized for a brief moment that they left the nest in his bed up and smiled softly. He had earned so much of Viktor's trust in the small amount of time they've known each other. The thought alone made him beyond ecstatic yet he couldn't place why.
They drove in relative silence as Viktor went overall the things that could've happened to his siblings in his head. Chuck reached over without thinking and took his hand. Viktor smiled gratefully at his friend.

Viktor walked alone into the academy. Every hair on his neck stood up as he did. He had never felt particularly safe there but after being gone for so long it seemed to have worsen. He looked around when he heard footsteps and was relieved to find Diego and Luther on the stairs.
"Oh thank god you're alright!" Viktor squeaked as he took the stairs two at a time to get to his brothers. He had started to look them over for any obvious injuries when Diego pushed him away.
"What are you doing here?" He nearly growled out. Viktor flinched back at how sharp Diego's tone was. The two of them had never been particularly close but ever since Ben died it seemed as though the beta had a vendetta against him.
"I'm checking to see if you're alright. I seen you on the news and I was super worried about you all. Where's Allison is she hurt?" Viktor asked quietly.
"She left. Just like you did so why do you care? It's not like you're actually pack anyways," Diego growled out before pushing past him and stomping to the kitchen. Viktor looked up at Luther with tears in his eyes. He was waiting for the pack leader to dispute what the beta had said. Luther just looked away from him and finished walking down the stairs. Viktor watched the place they both disappeared to for a few minutes.
"Master Viktor? What are you doing here my boy?" Pogo asked coming up behind him. He had watched the exchange from the top of the stairs and had to hold his tongue. His master was quite certain that the young omega is to be shunned for something he had no control over.
"Nothing Pogo... I was just leaving," he said as he walked to the door. Pogo didn't dare watch him go. He knew this was possible the last time he would see the man he thought of as a son.
As soon as Viktor was on the street he was running to Girddy's Donuts. He just needed to get back to Chuck. He'd be alright if he could just get back to the alpha. He felt as if his soul was breaking and his heart was ripped in two. The things Diego said was playing over and over in his head.

Chuck watched the omega burst into the shop and was up in an instant. Chuck wrapped his arms around Viktor and held him to his chest. The scent of distressed clang to the omega even worse then before.
"What happened? Are you okay?" Chuck asked as he ran a soothing hand up and down the smaller man's back. It was upsetting to see him just sobbing into his chest.
"They said I wasn't pack," Viktor whispered out. "Can we go home please?"
"Of course love. Let's stop by that Chinese place you love to eat at and rent some stupid movies and cuddle in the nest does that sound like a good plan?" Chuck asked him softly. Viktor nodded and Chuck quickly paid and lead the omega back to the car.
Chuck made the two stops necessary and was back to his apartment quicker then he thought possible. He lead the distressed man into his home and let him curl up in the nest he made. Chuck turned on Lilo and Stitch and handed Viktor his food.
He took it with a grateful smile and patted the space next to him. Chuck did have to be told twice as he carefully climbed into the nest. He sat down and grabbed his food as the omega cuddled into his side. They ate in near silence but Chuck noticed the distressed scent start to dissipate leaving Viktor smelling of honey and roses.

It didn't take long for their relationship to progress past friendship after that. Viktor had basically moved in with Chuck and his roommate Eudora. She was a beta woman who was also in the criminal justice major. Viktor had known of Eudora for years before their actual meeting however. Eudora's father had been the main detective that was in charge of the Umbrella Academy.
"Hey guys," Eudora called out to them from the kitchen, "I'm going to the store do you want anything?"
"Chocolate please!" Viktor shouted back as he cuddled closer to Chuck. They had been working on homework for the better half of three hours and that's all Viktor really wanted.
"I second that actually," he called out to Eudora. Finals had started to kick their asses. Eudora and him will be moving to the police academy in a few months and it was stressful to finish a major. Especially seeing signals were the last thing on his mind. Once he was sure Eudora was out of the house Chuck turn to the small omega pressed to his side.
"Hey Viktor can I ask you something?" Chuck asked softly. He watched the honey colored eyes he loves so much look up at him.
"Of course anything," he said without hesitant. Viktor never had to wonder where he stood with Chuck unlike at home. He knew he was safe and he knew he was wanted. It had lead to a drastic decrease in his pill intake.
"Do you want to move in?" Chuck asked. "Eudora is getting her own place in a few months and it would be nice to have you living here officially."
Viktor kissed the sweet alpha and smiled. "I'd love to," he said and kissed Chuck again. Their homework was soon forgotten over taken by the need to be closer. They were distracted again when chocolate bars hit their heads.
"I was only gone a few minutes you nasties," Eudora laughed as she closed their bedroom door.
"Yeah yeah love you too Dora," Viktor shouted before turning back to his alpha.
