RIO
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A child alone.
You sitting alone.
A five year old child quietly awaiting their destiny
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You sat in front of the window in the flat you shared with your mother. You looked down on the streets, you hear the music playing in the bars, celebrating far into the night.
Your mother was talking to an old family friend. Or well so you where told. His name was, you believed, Sanji. Despite his foreign name he fit into Rio. He was tanned had a few scars here and there but he appeared quite cheerful.
I mean at least he tried to be, when your mother saw his face she knew he was about to bring trouble. Both of them disappeared into the living room, you mother asking you to wait outside.
Yes their voices where mumbled and closed away in the living romm. but still you could feel the uneasyness lingering in their voices as the whispered among themselves.
As you turned your gaze to the right window you notice a figure approach your door, you quickly hid yourself away. After the man stood outside your door for a moment he lifted his hand to knock. You picked your head up a bit to examine him he was a Foreigner you could tell though something about his vine stemmed eaierly familiar.
You heard foot steps rushing out of the living room. Your mother came running to you quickly. She picked you up and hid you in a cabinet in the livingroom. As you tried to grab her hands she closed the cabinet door.
It was dark. Too dark. You didn't like the dark, it reminded you of a creature. A creature taht followed you whether you liked it or not, still against your pleads, asking for light it stayed with you.
In the cabinet there was no way to peak through the door, you against your better judgement stayed silent in the wood cabinet. But you could hear it, the front door opened and the Foreigner entered you flat. Your mother greeted him, her voice was shaky. Sanji offered the man a seat, to which the man sat down.
He spoke: "Where are they?". Sanji and your mother sat down as well, your mother tryed to answer but she was to faint, to quite, to shaky...to scared. Sanji took it upon him self to answer: "Dead. She had a missgarrige".
You where to joung to understand the context of the conversation, but you heard it, your mother shivering at every word the Foreigner spoke. But why? How did she know that man? Why was he here? Did he want something?
To you your mother was the courageous person you knew, truthfully speak you didn't know a lot of people but still. She never wavered in front of know one, as you knew her she always stayed her ground. But now? Who was that man too scare your mother like that?
Your train of thoughts was broken as the man yelled: "DON'T TRY TO SELL ME SHORT!! If she is dead who was that little rat in the window?!"
You held your breath, quietly waiting. He was talking about you. He was here because of you. You waited for an answer from your Mother or Sanji. You where scared and confused. You didn't know the man but you could fell it, he was a bad man you where sure about that.
Your mother quietly said:" Just leave she is dead"
Then one of the people got up, by the way things sounded it was the Foreigner, your heart pouneded.
Then a scream, your mother she screamed. Then someone else got up, probably Sanji. A hit followed, but then you heard it your mother gasping for air and Sanji struggling.
You held a hand up to your mouth as to not scream your heart was pounding you where sweating and sacred you wanted to jump out to see what was going on. But you where a mear child, you couldn't do anything. So you just stayed in the Cabinet quiet and helpless. Just listening to someone begging for air.
After what felt like an eternity you heard a thump and someone, a woman, your mother breathing heavily.
The Foreigner spoke up again this time sounding composed: "Where is she!?"
Silence, no one spoke. The clock in the kitchen ticked as loud as ever. You always loved that clock it had bunny ears as clock arms. But now the ticking of the clock was loud, louder than an jet flying by. The ticking cut through the slice like butter.
Again a breath of air was heard, your mother was struggling.
He was holding off her airways, time strachted for minutes but he wasn't letting go of her.
You couldn't take it anymore you jumped out of the Cabinet and ran to your mother screaming for the Foreigner to let her go, to let her live.
As the Foreigner saw your figure run up to your mother he stopped he dropped her and looked at you pleased. He spoke: "there you are"
Sanji quickly ran between the man and you. He screamed: "Get the fuck out, get away from them, you've hurt them enough"
The man grinned it was sadistic and evil a grin that would sent anyone shivers down their spine.
The man pushed Sanji to the ground harshly and slowly walked towards me. You mother tensed up behind you.
The Foreigner spoke, almost lovingly to you: "I darling am your father and I so dearly wanted to meet you, yet you Mother hid from me so I searched and searched and searched until I found her here in.. Ha I should have know, it's the two she was birthed in. But anyways I want you and your mother to come back to me, back with me"
You looked at the man angry, not believing what he was demanding after hurting your mother like that. You where about to speak as your Mother cut you off, screaming, her voice full of rage and fear. You had never heard you mother scream like that before: "NEVER! get the fuck out she is my child you won't take her anywhere"
The Foreigners face darkened as he pulled out a phone he quickly pressed a few buttons and put it back into his pocket. Meanwhile Sanji got up again he charged at the man. The Foreigner quickly defected his attack and pouneded his head against the floor over and over and over and over and over. You watch in horror as he kept throwing Sanjis head on the floor over and over and over again.
The longer you watched the more blood you saw running down Sanji Head. He the man hurting an innocent bystander was supposed to be you Father. You couldn't believe it, you didn't want to belive it, you couldn't be related to a man like that.
Sanjis eyes suddenly stopped reaction, they were as if they were made from gummy. Sanjis body was limb, a high amount of blood coming out of his head. His teeth where crooked, his check was bruised and marked.
Was he dead? You didn't dare think of that possibility.
But still you felt tears forming and running down your cheeks. You where always a quite child, a child who had problems talking to others but now, even now as you saw your father brutally hurt another person, you couldn't utter a word. You where quiter than ever, you just looked at the body full with blood and cried.
Your mother on the other hand let out a scream and tryed to get to Sanji, though your father stopped her held her down with a lot of force.
Four men entered the flat. You looked over to them in hopes of getting help. Though that thought quickly dissappeared as two of them picked up Sanji body and the other two to pick up your mother. Both your mother and Sanji where carried out your flat, leaving you looking desperately after then for help.
Your father walked up behind you, looking way to smug.
He leaned down and spoke softly: "I told you I wished for you to come with me and trust me you will".
