Assassins in Gaia

Cloud looked around the area they had entered, there were luminous trees glowing bright with magic. Caleb and Rain looked around as well, the place bringing many types of memories and emotions for both of them. Rain had Pyra, the Fire Wolf cub beside him sniffing around the place in curiosity. Solaris had flown off after dropping them all near the forest and now they were following Ace who seemed to be guided in a certain direction.

Zack gave a whistle, "This place is very beautiful."

Cloud nodded, "Yeah. I can't believe Desmond and Vincent found this place. I knew, they had been looking for a place to use as a venue."

Rain, "Uncle, what's the temple like here? Back then, it was just a ruin."

Ace kept moving, "The temple is being slowly restored to it's original state. Reeve created a carbon reader that can read an object's history through carbon dating. It also helps he had a blueprint on the temple thanks to Vincent."

Caleb was curious, "So, we'll see the complete temple and not the ruins?"

Ace, "Oh no! The ruins are still there, historical value and all. But the main temple is being restructured into it's original shape."

Zack moved forward, "Is that it?"

Ace grinned, "That's the entrance, yes."

Rain marvelled at the fully fixed up entrance gate decked out in white lilies and red roses. No doubt, Aerith's handiwork and entered the area feeling like he just came home. He turned to Ace with wide eyes noticing Caleb and his Ma do the same. Ace smiled at them and motioned for them to follow him to the main temple grounds. There Aerith was helping Angeal put up the flower decor while Sephiroth was helping Tifa in making the drinks.

Rain eyed the silver haired man, 'Seeing a sane adult Sephiroth is so surreal. Especially those round human eyes, instead of the cat like eyes.'

Genesis, "You made it, Kadaj, Loz, Yazoo, your friends are here."

Kadaj, "Rain! Caleb!"

Loz, "Come play with us."

Yazoo, "There's a play area over there just for us."

Zack nudged the twins, "Go on."

Cloud smiled, "Go ahead. Your Pa will call you when the ceremony starts."

The twins nodded and went to join the three ex remnants, at the play area. There they met Julian and his lovely wife Navra along with their three year old son, Muriel and one year old daughter, Allison. Rain didn't remember much about Julian except his family had left Nibelheim after he turned ten. He was the first kid to leave the village and cut contact with them, or maybe he didn't cut contact and Rain just didn't remember him at all. That was possible too when you consider the amount of memories that went missing from his head.

Caleb poked him mentally, -Stop it, you cannot change the past, but you can change the future. You keep telling me that.-

Rain, -Yeah, I did, didn't I?-

Kadaj, "Hey, come on Muriel, join us."

Loz, "We are playing hide and seek."

Muriel flushed under the attention, "That sounds fun. Okay."

Julian, "Don't go too far kids."

Yazoo, "We won't Uncle Julian."

Caleb and Rain joined in going to hide in nooks and crannies around the large temple. Caleb had at one point hid under Aerith's skirt while the woman acted as if he was not there. They both giggled when Yazoo could not find him and Aerith pat his head before getting back to decorating the area. Angeal shook his head in amusement. Caleb hadn't realized how quickly he could become fond of the woman who called herself his aunt. In the last life, he had been the reason for her demise, in this life he made her laugh in happiness.

Zack, "Children come, it's time."

Caleb, "Coming Pa."

Julian, "How exciting, they are finally making it official."

Navra, "Yes, I am so happy we were invited. When you said they were having a small wedding with close family and friends I was not expecting an invite."

Claudia, "Come now Navra, you are a close friend of ours. It was a given you would be invited as well."

Angeal, "There you are, come on, to your seats. Kids are sitting next to their parents obviously."

Madam M was eyeing everything with curiosity, "I must say, when I was invited to an Ancient themed wedding. I was not expecting it to be at one of their infamous temples."

Chocobo Sam, "Yes, it brings to light a lot things about this home planet of ours."

Andrea hummed, "I, for one am personally happy old man Shinra was made to retire before the existence of this place was announced."

They all shivered thinking about how obsessed President Shinra had been with finding the promised land. It was thanks to the distributed story books the rest of them understood, the promised land was actual the after life. Ace was pretty smug about that. The Honey girls and boys were gossiping about it and spread that little fact everywhere. Hence, it came to reason a lot of the Midgardians were happy Rufus took over. It helped that he and Reeve did there best to make life easier for them in the different sectors.

Shelke perked up, "Look, Desmond is coming."

Claudia, "Oh my! He looks handsome."

Zack, "Woah! He cleaned up really good."

Roche grinned, "Vincent can't take his eyes away from Desmond either."

Caleb and Rain were staring as well, Desmond was wearing a light green shirt and over shall with dark green pants and dark brown shoes. He looked like he was just came out from one of Ace's story books, a Dryad, to be more specific. Vincent was dressed in dark red suit and coat, courtesy of Veld who refused to let him get married in his battle outfit. Veld and Tseng were Vincent's best man while Lucretia, the bridesmaid. In Desmond's side Ace was the best man while Tifa pulled Cloud into being a bridesmaid with her.

Cloud could not bring himself to refuse her, especially when the outfit for the bridesmaid was androgynous to look at. It was a long light blue dress with dark blue pants and white shoes, it was not pink at least? Cloud felt Zack's eyes on him and looked up to see his family staring at him. Rain's eyes were wide and Cloud could not help but snicker at their surprised looks and expressions. Desmond had mentioned Zack would not be able to look at anything else earlier, turns out neither could his children.

Aerith was at the altar, "I, welcome everyone to the wonderful reunion of these two bright souls. Under the watchful sight of the planet, we celebrate the joining of two hearts into one. Please exchange your rings first."

Desmond, "I give you this ring, which I have carved with my own hands as a sign of faithfulness. Receive this ring as a token of my deep love and faith."

Vincent, "I accept. I give you this ring, which I have carved with my own hands as a sign of faithfulness. Receive this ring as a token of my deep love and faith."

Desmond, "I accept."

Aerith smiled, "The rings have been accepted. If anyone has anything to say against this ceremony, speak now or stay forever silent."

At this part everyone stayed quiet and Aerith continued, "The silence is a blessing, this is proof everyone supports this reunion. Please proceed with the vows."

Vincent, "I, Vincent, take you, Desmond to be my soulmate through all of eternity. I will be faithful to you and honest with you. I will share all of my deepest secrets with you that no one else knows of. With our family, friends and the planet herself as a witness I will be by your side for better or worse."

Aerith, "You may now kiss your soulmate."

Vincent eagerly took Desmond's lips and gave him a soft loving kiss among the cheers and applause. They separated and Desmond gave a happy laugh as everyone approached to congratulate them. Claudia hugged them tight congratulating them followed by Zack, Caleb and Rain and everyone else. It was a rush, the satisfying kind and Vincent felt his demons purr knowing everyone knew Desmond was theirs.

The Honey girls and boys were in charge of the music and started to play it. Vincent took Desmond to dance while the best men and bridesmaid danced next. Zack took Cloud and Rude took Reno after they danced to one song, to dance together. Claudia and Elmyra decided to take the part of the mother when it came to mother and son dance. It was a little sad for a while before the mood picked up again as the newly weds danced around with the mother figures of the whole group.

Zack, "Remember our wedding?"

Cloud smiled, "Yes, I do."

Zack, "You looked amazing in the Wutai version of wedding clothes. The red made your hair stand out."

Cloud, "Yuffie really went out of her way to gift us the wedding set clothes."

Zack, "It was very kind of her, she even gave you a very pricey jewellery set."

Cloud twitched, "She just wanted an excuse to dress me up. I blame Ace for it."

Zack, "You looked really good in the red dress though."

Cloud looked at him, "So did you. Now, I believe the next one to get married in the family would be Tifa and Aerith."

Zack, "Tifa finally got the courage to ask her?"

Cloud grinned, "Yup, that's not all, Elmyra was just waiting for Tifa to propose to Aerith officially and once that happened she agreed to go with Claudia on a date. The adoption for Aerith went through a few days ago with Rufus helping out."

Zack laughed quietly, "That is awesome, Aerith did claim you as her baby brother a few days after you met. This just makes it official on paper for everyone."

Cloud, "Yes."

After the dance, Claudia took over the dinner and served food for everyone. Sephiroth, Genesis and Angeal spent a bit more time with the wedded couple and returned to Shinra along with Kunsel, Luxiere and Goulde were a shoe in to becoming First Class. They were currently working as a second in command to the three Generals. Roche, Logan and Brian were a shoe in to become a Second Class. With Elias, Sebastian and many other First returning to being SOLDIERs there were no new recruits.

Rufus smiled, "I will be returning with the Generals as well. Congratulations, Desmond, Vincent, you deserve the happiness, especially after everything that happened."

Lazard nodded, "Yes, this was a wonderful time and event for all of us.

The SOLDIERs nodded in agreement, as the time for promotions were coming closer, things were getting hectic as well. They all accepted the invite to get away from the paperwork for a day and night before getting back to the griddle again. Now they were returning back to Midgar, not to forget Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo were pretty much half asleep. Sephiroth picked Kadaj up, while Angeal took Loz and Genesis carried Yazoo, and called for Behemoth.

The large dragon looked around the temple and rumbled in curiosity. Sephiroth then requested to return home and Behemoth eyed him, then nodded in agreement. Behemoth had lately noticed the changes in his summoner, especially after meeting the curious little Cetra. The dragon knew sometimes you met people who turn you into a better person or worst. In his summoner's case, he became more relaxed and happier after meeting the Cetra and the younger Cetra.

Vincent spoke up after it was only direct family and close friends left. Andrea and the Wall Market trio had left one hour after the three Firsts had left. The Honey girls and boys were very happy to be able to visit a splendid place outside Midgar. They thanked them for the invite, wishing them a wonderfully life. Vincent thanked them all for being present for their union and took Desmond for their honeymoon.

Zack, "Shall we go home?"

Cloud, "Yes. Rain and Caleb are out like a light too."

Zack chuckled, "They are really adorable while sleeping. I can't get enough of them."

Cloud, "I know what you mean. Now come on Frigga and her nest mate are waiting for us."

Zack, "I still can't believe she found a mate on the day we got officially married."

Cloud, "The two of them enjoyed themselves today as well."
