Name Headcanons + Explanations First
The Moons{Bad Sanses}
Nightmare shortened his name to Mare to make it easier to call out if someone is hurt
Cross is known as Dual because he wanted to cut all ties with XTale, and he didn't want to take the name that was offered by Dream.
Dust is known as Storm because Nightmare said Dust isn't threatening enough, but that Murder was too threatening, so he chose Storm due to his LV flares.
Horror is known as Niche because he liked the sound of it rather than Horror or Hatchet, he also does not care what we call him.
Killer changed his name to Angst because he liked the idea of it, also they like having a name that has no gender for it
Error changed to Crash because it is a name Ink doesn't know and he also crashes a lot more than the canon
Star Duo + Ink
Dream is known as Positive despite being toxic but everyone liked that better then Dream since Dream seemed like he was the best person to ever live.
Swap is Guard because he has and always will guard who he loves/ cares about
Ink is now Paint because he chose to after he was kicked out of the Star Sanses
