Danger

We passed by houses that looked they've been empty for awhile, it was weird to see considering this was one of the most populated area. We stopped by to ask an officer, they said they'll get us settled in one of the houses near the headquarters. They said that probably by the end of the week there's gonna be some orientation about the virus. One of the officers lead us to where we were staying, it was a small but spacious house. Apparently some people already settled before we did. We parked our car in the front of the house as the other people had taken the space in the garage. The inside of the house was nice, it atleast had 4 rooms and there was no upstairs.

It had a small kitchen, two of the rooms were already taken so we settled in the unoccupied ones. It had a small bed that could only fit two people, a sofa, a small table beside the bed and a cabinet big enough to fit all of our clothes. There was a small bathroom at the end of the room, which was really convenient. My stomach grumbled suddenly, i forgot we skipped lunch as we were too busy packing stuff. I make my way on the kitchen, opening the refrigerator which was ofcourse, empty.

"Guys, im gonna go out and find food, does anyone want anything?" I asked, as light footsteps approach the kitchen.
"I've been really craving for some pasta and pizza, are there any restaurant or fastfood near here?" I said looking at Ezekiel. They all hummed at my suggestion. "Pasta and Pizza it is then." Evan said.

"I think we passed by some restaurant on the way here, Anybody wanna come with me?" Ezekiel asked, "I'll go, this might get my mind off some things. Al and Ev, you guys stay here okay? Wait for the other people." I said to them which they nodded at.

"Pass by the market and get some gas for the car too." Evan said as he handed the car key and credit card at Evan. Ezekiel only hummed and mumbled a soft thank you to him. "We wont be shy then," I teased him to which they chuckled at. "Bye bye, we're gonna go now." I said, as they waved goodbye to us. Take care was the last thing i heard as i shut the front door softly.

We drove around the neighborhood, there were alot of police officers and military men stationed, it really makes you wonder what's actually going on. But the good thing is, there were alot of stores around. To think such a neighborhood has so many stores around it, they even have a mall. "Let's go to the supermarket first, we need food and some supplies. After that, let's get some food."

"That sounds like a sound plan. Let's make a stop to the gas station first though, running low on gas." Evan said, i only nodded as an argeement. When we got to the gas station, the prices were so ridiculously high. Evan asked the worker, turns out the Government was hoarding gas and now its limited as the next shipment for gas will arrive in two weeks, they issued the high gas price as to atleast make it last. Thanks to Evan's card though, we manage to full tank the car, even managed to take a half liter of gas for later on.

There werent alot of people in the supermarket, fortunately. Good thing the prices werent so high here. I was the one holding the cart as Evan put items. We stacked up on canned food, some veggies, fruit and meat, and personal hygiene stuff. Ofcourse we cant forget chips and some drinks. We also got a first aid kit, some flashlights and battery just incase we lose electricity. I eyed the medicines on the shelf, my gut instincts telling me to get some. I can never ignore my gut instincts, they havent failed me once. 'Better be safe than sorry.' I thought as i held the medicines in my hand.

Ezekiel only looked at me in confusion before he could even say something i said, "Its a gut feeling, dont question it." The knot in his face immediately went away, he always trusted me when it came to trusting my instincts. I smiled at him, always so trusting of his sister. He wasnt always so trusting of me, highschool life for the both of us was hard, but more on him. While Mom was stuck in the hospital, i was always out, picking up jobs while studying so he was alone at most of the time at home. He eventually started being peer pressured by the wrong type of friends.

He went out drinking, ignoring his studies. Once i found out about it, i cried, thinking that it was my fault. So i begged. I begged for him to forgive me. He couldnt take me crying and begging, he shouted at me why i didnt blame him. In the end, we ended up crying on the couch, both asking for forgiveness. After that, he slowly tried to change himself for the better. Which made me really happy. "I think that's it, Kiel can you go line up for food? I'll pay for the groceries." There was some restaurant inside the grocery store, which was really convenient.

"Are you sure? This is quite alot." He questioned at me, but i only waved at him dismissively. "It'll be fine, i got some money saved up, besides we cant abuse Evan's kindness."

"You know he really wouldnt mind it right?" Evan probably had alot of money saved up because of the money his parents send him, "Yes yes i know, still, i'll feel bad if we use too much of his money. So just go and line up for food please? Im really hungry." Ezekiel could only sigh and i grin in victory.

Since there wasnt much people in line, i got out of the grocery store quickly. Ezekiel had the key to the car so i had to pass by him first, when i got it i told him that i'll come back after putting the groceries in the car.
