Epilogue

[A/N]: this kind of epilogue, cause I'm uncomfortable with toxicity when the pair are supposed to be the end game. So yep, I used this path, instead of settling with Chishiya being a stupid manipulative cunt. Enjwaayyy!

Young love.

A painful part of your college days.

After what happened to you and Chishiya, the university coincidentally had a students-exchange program. You and Chishiya was two of the great and competent students that the school board was debating to send to [your country of origin].

They decided to pick you in the end which you gladly accepted. It was for a year and some months, however, you decided to stay there until you finish your studies.

Your scholarship allowed you, congratulated you even, because your already high grades just got higher, and you managed to graduate as the Magna Cum Laude.

Your guardian didn't have the chance to come to put the medal on your neck, but in a call, for the first time, you heard them crying as they congratulated you, telling you that they love you, and that they miss you truly.

The university you finished your studies in supported you till the end, and actually made way for you to have a good job just after you graduated. You stayed there for two years, trying to save money for a decent flight back to Japan.

You sent your first salary to your guardian, which you found out that they didn't use even a penny out of it. They said that they didn't need it, and would just likely use if there is an emergency, which luckily didn't happen.

You managed to make friends. Not acquaintances, but friends. They valued you a lot, and even helped you to find a great therapist to deal with your long time emotional toll.

You managed to open to open up, no snapping, no violence, but peaceful anger. You managed to learn healthy coping mechanisms. Life was hard in a foreign country, but you managed.

You learned to smile genuinely. You've became happy and contented. You didn't look for love and other sorts of romantic relationship. You were fine with your friends' company.

Today that your two-year contract gets finished. You are going home.

You bid goodbyes with tears, laugh, and heaviness in you and your friends' hearts. You didn't promise them that you'll come back, and they didn't promise that they will wait for you.

You knew it on your hearts that you'll naturally do it, but they knew that promises are nothing but lies to you.

After two days for yourself, the day of your flight arrived.

Each step was heavy.

Each breath was deeper than the previous.

Each blink stings more than what it followed.

You're going to leave your home for your home town.

You aren't going to lie that you were prepared. Everything that was old for you will become new for your tastes and preference. Every habit will not be suitable, and your routine will probably change gradually.

You finally arrived. After hours of discomfort, and not enough rest, you finally arrived.

Your guardian was waiting for you, they looked  way older than they were before, worry clearly evident on their faces.

The darkness around them vanished as they saw you. The heaviness and worry disappeared, and joy overcome them. They didn't know what to do. They aren't use to hugs, but would like to give you one as a welcome. They were awkward. Like your past self.

You smiled brightly at the sight as you pulled them in a tight embrace, which they slowly returned. You cried with joy, after years of nit seeing them.

Your guardian knew that you changed for the better, but personally experiencing it was strange for them. But they liked it. They preferred the new you, than the one you created to fit in. The old version of you they always apologized to at their sleep as they loathed themselves for not being a proper parental figure, knowing that they themselves did not know how it was to feel an adult relative loving them without anything in return.

For days you spent at your old home, you made the gloominess there go away.

After days of resting, you decided to go to Shibuya tomorrow morning, missing the particular way the place thrives with life.

You rode a train to get there, excited to feel the air of the said place, after being basked in nature by your hometown in the country side.

There are so many things that have changed in span of many years that you had been gone. The buildings were taller, the establishments that were previously there got replaced or changed their eye-catching logos.

It was a chilly yet warm morning, but the district still felt cheery and lively. But out of all the things you've noticed that changed, one thing stood out to you.

It was the coffee shop that a certain blonde always went whenever he didn't have a class, sometimes together with his friends, but most of the time, alone, until you came into his life.

The color scheme of the shop stayed the same, along with its aesthetics. The size of the shop stayed the same as well, and when you opened the door to go inside, even the chair and table placement stayed the same.

You smiled as you reminisced things.

You ordered your favorite, that surprised you when you actually saw those there, on the menu that has the classification of ‘Timeless’.

You sat on your favorite part of the shop, as the people started filling up the cafe, now that they offer not just cakes and drinks.

You felt a light tap on your shoulder,“Uh, can I sit—” and you turned to see the person that tapped you.

Oh.”
