You said, "Forever", and I almost bought it.
NOVEMBER 23rd, 2021
Ava woke up with the light shining from in between the blinds shining in her face. She covered her eyes for a moment before reaching her arm across her bed to meet nothing. Wait... What? Her eyes shot open to that. Where's Bea? Maybe on a morning run??
The brunette sat up after that, bringing the energy to finally get up. Well, the scare really brought her awake more than anything. Ava brought herself to get dressed, walking over to her closet. When she began looking through it, she couldn't help but notice Bea's clothes missing. Sure, Ava took up most of the closet, considering she was a tad bit too excited to finally be able to buy things for herself, but it wasn't hard to notice her girlfriend's missing clothes, except the sweater on Ava right now. Now she's worried. Not just worried, she's panicking. She walked out of the small room of her apartment, walking to her main room, where her kitchen and living room met. The apartment was small, but Ava's always adored it. It was her first home that she bought. She didn't adore it as much as her place in her adoptive Mothers' home. She will always love it there more.
Ava was quickly panicking, pulling out her phone when she realized the apartment was half empty. Where is Bea??
She checked through her messages, nothing. She tried to call Bea, no answer. And again, straight to voicemail. No messages were sending through.
Now she was crying. She can't do this again. Not again.
Why, Bea?
NOVEMBER 23rd, 2022
It felt like a nice day, the chilly winter air, only about down to the 40's though. Ava was walking down to meet with Camila at the Arc, a bar downtown she works at. But for now, she is just coming as a customer and hanging out with friends, Lilith, Mary, Camila and probably Yasmine. Shannon passed it up. Oh. Her adoptive brother, Michael as well.
Ava knows it's the anniversary of Bea leaving her out of nowhere without any word. The rest may not. The only person who maybe does is Mary, and Michael. They comforted her in terrible times, all of her lows.
She acts like she's unaffected by the day, but she feels like she's been stabbed in the gut. Despite it being a whole year already, she can't help but constantly think about Bea. Something about Bea, still has a hold on Ava to this day. Ava knows Bea keeps in contact with Lilith and Camila, but she didn't question them about her. She would wonder every now and then if Bea's said anything about her, but never asked about it. She thinks it's better she doesn't know. Bea probably finally realized how much of a disappointment Ava can be. How boring she can be.
Ava's recovered. She likes to think she has; she can have normal days at least. Although the first few weeks, Mary had to drag Ava out of her apartment.
Mary's constant motivational words: "I understand it, Babygirl. I know from personal experience, you'll be alright, I know it, just push."
Ava didn't believe it at the time, but she felt better now. She was still damaged, but functional. She's learned to live without Bea.
Enough of the depressing stuff, Ava is going to hang out with her best friends, so she's happy.
As Ava entered the bar, she could tell it wasn't a very busy day. That's why she wasn't put on shift, the less busy days Hans took over by himself, or sometimes Ava. She spotted her friends near the pool table, playing against each other, and Camila seeming a little buzzed already. They must've been making the losers drink, considering Mary and Lilith remained sober while Yasmine and Camila, not.
Ava approached them, a big smile on her face. "Hey, guys!", she greeted them. Camila greeted Ava with a shriek and a hug, and Yasmine the same, but quieter. Lilith didn't really say anything. Michael followed into the door not long after, giving everyone a small smile in greeting awkwardly. He was definitely the more anti-social one of the two siblings. Even if they weren't blood related, the two of them both had their same traits. Ava did grow up as his sister after-all, and they're super close in age, Ava only two years older than him. Mary smirked to Ava. "Just in time. We were beating their asses in pool. You two want to join?" Ava seemed rather excited, hopping a bit as she went to another side of the table. "Hell yeah! You two are on.", she said confidently, going against Lilith and Mary, considering Camila and Yasmine had just lost. Michael chuckled, alongside his sister. "You two will feel the wraith of the best pool duo in Madrid.", he spoke as confident as Ava.
Long story short, in ended in them losing. Ava rolled her eyes playfully, taking a shot. "Yeah whatever, we weren't trying all the way." Lilith chuckled, shaking her head. "Always too cocky. I think I'm doing you a favor; you'll need those shots for later." Ava was quickly confused. What?? "What does that mean?", Ava asked with a nervous laugh.
Ava wasn't confused for long when someone else entered the bar, and Ava's swears her breath almost stopped as she watched a familiar face enter the bar. Hair tied back in a bun, sweater overtop collared shirt, slightly baggy jeans. Ava felt like melting away in the moment. Beatrice looked just as surprised. Michael put a hand on Ava's shoulder, comfortingly, about to say something to her but Ava waved him off. She could hear Mary and everyone else speaking, greeting Bea, all except Michael as she made her way to the back exit. She opened the door, walking into the small alley area. She felt like she was losing air. She put a hand on her chest while she tried to take a breath. It felt like every bad feeling surrounding Beatrice came back and stabbed her in the heart, all the ones she locked away in a small chest in her mind. Before she could think about it, she was crying, silently, but still, nonetheless had tears.
When Ava heard the exit shut, she expected Michael, turning while speaking. "Michael, I just needed some air-...", her words stopped in its tracks when she saw Beatrice standing in front of her. Looking just as awkward and nervous as Michael on days he had to do things like speak in front of a crowd.
"Hi, Ava"
