Kronii looked over at her owlish girlfriend, who was happily sitting on the couch watching an obscure nature documentary, as she walked into the living room. She couldn't help but smile at Mumei, knowing full well that she had been sitting there for hours waiting for her to get home from her nightly check up on the obscure time related things that were too complex for her to bother explaining to Mumei. Kronii sat down next to Mumei, startling the owl girl.

"Oh, hi!" She mumbled, voice laced with exhaustion from lack of sleep, mixed with excitement, both likely caused by waiting for K to return; a regular activity for Mumei.

"Hey, Mumei. How... how long have you been up this time?" Kronii asked in a concerned but teasing tone.

Kronii was obviously worried for her girlfriend and her awful sleeping habits, but she was used to this exact occurrence and thought she might as well tease her about it.

She pondered Kronii's question for a bit, before responding with a gleeful "No idea!" and pausing the documentary so she could get comfortable.

Mumei turned to look over at Kronii, grinning as the warden gave her a soft forehead kiss. She twisted around to lean into the taller woman. Kronii easily accepted this - as it had been done many times before - and wrapped her arms around the brunette. The blue haired time warden rested her head on her owl's own, and once they were both comfortable, Mumei unpaused the documentary.

"This one's about bats!" She exclaimed to Kronii, "I think its super interesting!"

"Mumei, you say that about every documentary you watch? Are they all really that interesting?" She snuggled closer to Mumei as she teased.

"They have to be interesting! What else am I supposed to do while you're out doing your time stuff?" Mumei pouted "I have to find something to entertain me!"

"Two things, my owl. One; I am not much more interesting than these awfully boring documentaries. Two; sleep. Literally just sleep. Sleep is always an option." Kronii said sarcastically, "How interesting do you actually think I am? To have to keep yourself entertained in my absence? Am I really all that interesting?" She continued to tease.

Mumei giggled and responded with a soft hum of affirmation, her face growing slightly pink at the callout as she looked back at Kronii. She smiled at the taller girl, brushing her messy blue hair out of her face. Mumei leaned upwards to press her lips to Kronii's nose. Kronii smiled at her in turn, but it quickly turned to concern.

"Its not good for your health, Mumei, for real. You need sleep. I can't always guarantee that I'll be back as early as I have been recently." Kronii furrowed her brows in a worrisome cast.

"Don't worry! I've slept far less than this, considering that this is really only chipping off like a couple of hours of sleep each night! Seriously, Kronii, don't worry about me, I'm tough. I'll survive, okay?" Mumei assured her girlfriend, looking up at her giddily and reassuringly.
Kronii gave up and smiled at her owl, pressing another soft kiss to her forehead. She knew she couldn't win, so she didn't bother wasting her energy on it. She reached for the remote.

"We'll negotiate later." She concluded, "let's just finish your stupid frog documentary, okay?"

"Kronii!! It's about bats! Where did you even get frogs from??" Mumei protested, snatching the remote before Kronii could get even near it. She turned back towards the television, hearing only a soft chuckle from the taller girl as she once again leaned into her. Kronii smiled, not that Mumei could see it, but she was happy. This was all she had ever wanted.

The owl girl unpaused the documentary and shifted around a bit more before settling on a comfortable position against Kronii's side. It didn't take long for her to fall asleep, but Kronii had been so invested in the 'stupid frog (bat) documentary' that she hadn't even noticed Mumei's head rest against her shoulder. The clock read 2:34 AM, but did it really matter to the two? A pair for all of eternity; for as long as civilization existed and time progressed, they would be together. Or something.
