The Letter and The Assignment
"Thomas!! Thomas!!" Joshua said loudly while knocking on his best friend house's door. The mentioned man then seems to be hearing the knock from Joshua, the clicking sound of a door being opened can be heard, and there he is, Mr. Big.
"What's up?" Thomas said. Joshua then walks into Thomas' house because talking infront of the door looks awkward. Once they're sat on the sofa, Joshua began to say, "Can you be my partner on English class' assignment? I forgot to search for one, the other day." But Thomas seems to be in 'disagreement', he just looks at Joshua with his pursed lips, in a sad tone he said, "Oh sorry brother, I'm working on it with Musiala. I'm pretty much sure that new kid hasn't got a partner, yet. Maybe you can ask him."
Hearing that just makes Joshua become much more annoyed because why does suddenly that freak is around him everywhere! Joshua makes a frown on his face, and then said "Ugh I can't stand that freak! I will ask Kevin, then, perhaps he's still searching for the assignment partner too." He then gets up from the sofa, and left Muller's house.
"Well you can just ask that new kid.. because I'm pretty much sure that everyone has got a partner on the assignment!" Thomas yelled while his best friend is walking away, slowly leaving the scene.
'how should I ask Kevin?' Joshua wonders, walking back and forth while holding a phone on his hand. It seems to be that he is typing something about asking Kevin to be his assignment partner, but still confused on how to say it. 'Maybe...' he then proceeds to move his fingers to his phone's keyboard, moving it all around the alphabets so that it could form a sentence. He reads the text once again before sending it, "Hi Kevin. Joshua here. Perhaps if you still hasn't got your English assignment partner, I'm here."
Feeling that every word has been typed right and the text is not weird in any sense, he then pressed the send button. Not too long to wait Kevin's answer, he read excitedly without any doubts, "Ahhh sorry Jo, I'm with Kai. Go with that new kid, probs still free" and as the words kept going on, his voice began to fall lower and lower. What can he do now?! His friends are booked, all of them! No way he's going to text the whole class just for that stupid assignment!
Joshua falls down onto his sofa while his teeth is biting his lips, scratching his head because it's a habit of him while he is stressed. He then puts down his phone, and now he began to think seriously. He should decide, wether to ask Leon to be his assignment partner, or to ask the whole class, one by one, in case someone is actually still looking for an assignment partner like him too. But the second choice would be too hard for him since he's not very close to all of them, let alone having their contacts. He growled in despair, he then grab a piece of paper, and a pen on his hand. Writing something on it. 'I think this would be good.' he thought to himself.

Writing a letter manually might sound silly in these days. But for Joshua, things like this is precious and cute to him, it feels like every word is actually meant if someone decides to write it in a letter. Thus, he would feel the need to do so because he really do mean it this time, he sincerely apologize to Leon.
And now the only thing he need is just the address to Leon's house. None of his friends would've known Leon's address, so he decided to call Mr. Xabi's number instead, asking for Leon's address with the excuse of 'for assignment' thing.
As he finally got the address, realizes that it didn't actually took too long from his house, which is just like 10 minute bike ride, he quickly grab his bike, took the envelope with him, and a cassette gift for Leon.
"I hope this is the right house" Joshua nervously whispered while he's standing directly onto Leon's door. Kind of hesitant to knock on the door, but then he knocked twice, not loud enough to make the neighbors yell at him, and quickly throw the envelope beneath the door, grab his bike and just left the house already.
After a ride that felt like a freaking 5km marathon for him, he finally got home and take a rest at his sofa while waiting for Leon's response. Breath panting, right arm rest on his forehead while the other one is holding a phone, he blankly stared onto the ceiling, wondering, 'what if Leon actually has gotten a partner? What if he just throws the envelope instead? Why am I minding these things so hard?' but then he realize that he probably overthink it much because it's very important for his grades. Yeah, maybe that really is the reason.
Accidentally taking a nap, Joshua wakes up at the notification sound on his phone. He doesn't even know how was it loud enough to just make him wake up that easily. He then take a look at his notifications, noticing that there is a text an unknown number, he quickly opens his eyes, finally sitting correctly instead of looking like a lazy bear. "Maybe, it was Leon." He thought.

Seeing the response, he smiled in excitement. "Yes!!" He said quietly in his room, while making the 'fist gesture'. He then choose to not wait any longer, and replied the message.

Well, I'm glad that you liked the present and I hope we can work on the assignment starting from now so I could read your essay by tomorrow.
After finish clicking the send button, Joshua started to work on his essay too so they both could read each other's essay by tomorrow and finish quickly so the assignment will not become a burden for them—him actually—in the next two days.
