Day 25 (Darcy & Pepper)
“Oh this is wonderful.” Pepper looks delighted when she enters Darcy’s apartment. She takes her elegant bathrobe off to show that she is in pyjamas as requested. It is a habit for Darcy and Pepper to get together once a week to discuss Tony. It had begun as a necessity for Darcy to survive her job as Tony’s PA but it had become far more then that and the two women are now good friends. Due to Pepper’s recent travel she’s had to cancel their meeting for a couple of weeks now. When she had told the young woman that she’d come back on Friday she was told to keep her pyjamas on Saturday and come by. So here she is, taking in the smells of various breakfast items, coffee and the warmth of the apartment.
“Hi Pep, I’m just finishing up.” Darcy flips the last pancake, puts it on the pile and turns off the stove. “Alright let’s go.” She picks up the tray that all the food is balancing on and walks into what Pepper knows to be the bedroom. She follows, slightly puzzled until she sees the setup. Darcy has put a big quilt on the bed to protect the bedding, put lots of cushions against the headboard and there are two blankets folded up on the foot of the bed. Darcy is carefully putting the tray down as Pepper walks around to take her place on the bed. “This is wonderful Darcy. Thank you.” She smiles warmly at her and takes the blanket that Darcy hands her to curl up in. “I know we usually do lunches or girls night but you’ve been so busy.” Darcy grins. “I don’t think you really do lazy mornings so now I’m forcing you.” She sticks out her tong and settles on her side of the bed. Pepper chuckles and nods in agreement. “Mornings are very productive times. But I will admit that you can persuade me with this anytime.” She grabs a plate and piles a few pancakes on it before drowning them in syrup and taking a bite. “Oh this is good.” Darcy laughs, pleased with the compliment and grabs a croissant. “Thanks. I love breakfast. My favourite days are when I eat breakfast three times.” She laughs unrepentant and takes a muffin. “So same time next week?”
