"So what's the plan for tonight?" Emma asked the brunette walking next to her. School had finally, weekend here we come. They walked home together the same way they had been since they were old enough too. "Emmaaaa" Regina gd
"You know Zee is visiting with my niece" Regina informed Emma for what seemed like the 100th time already.
"Yeah but what about when all the hugs and kisses are done and everyone starts watching 'Tombstone" Emma did her best cowboy impression. Emma knew that was Henry's favorite movie and no matter how many times they have seen it, he loves to end his night with a glass of homemade apple cider and his favorite western when his whole family was in town. "You can just 'wander' into the woods" The blonde proposed with a mischievous grin. "What are you planning?" Regina turned to look at her. No point in acting like she wasn't up for a good time.
Emma looked the same as she did the Christmas they both got their very own tree house.
At the wonderful age of 12, both girls had convinced both David and Henry, Emma and Regina's fathers, to build them a tree house not too far in the woods but far enough to give them a little privacy behind Regina's house. The mills own all the land behind the house so both parents decided it would be safe enough and so they did. They both worked on the house after work or on weekends they didn't have much going on to complete the tree house for the girls.
And that very treehouse still stood. Some boards were replaced over time. But still there.
"What are you thinking of?"
"I just got some mad dabs from my plug"
"Ruby"
"What?"
"Your plug… it's Ruby." She said matter a factly.
Emma just looked at her "Woman it sounds cooler when I say plug." They continued walking "as I was saying dabs… you in?"
"Emma, your dad is the sheriff" Regina giggled
"I know, I didn't say we will be at my place, let's go to our place"
Regina smiled as she thought of their treehouse.
"When?" She asked. No point in acting like she wasn't up for a good time.
Emma jumped with excitement "I'm going to hit up Sneezy for some snacks and drinks. Won't anything in particular? "
"Light blue Gatorade" just admit it no one ever calls them by their actual name.
"Ok cool, so I guess just sneak out when you can. Text me, I'll meet you in the wood. Then we can go." Emma said as they reached the Mill's house. "So I'll just wait for your text" and she ran off on a mission.
Regina walked into the foyer and was tackled and lifted into the air. " What the fu.."
"Language" she heard from the living room. Regina looked down and the once child now all grown
"Robbie??" She was placed down.
"Aunt Reggie," Robbie gave her the tightest hug ever. "I've missed you so much. How was school? What's new? Wanna shoot some hoops?"
"For the love of all that is holy will you let her breath and give her a chance to answer the first question." Zelena, Regina's older sister walked out of the living room "Hello love" she smiled at her young sister.
Regina inwardly thanked her sister, and she could breathe again "Robbie? What the hell happened when did you get so tall?"
"Last summer I went to bed and boom " she gestured to herself.
Both Regina and Robbie walked into the living room. They let go long enough for Zelena to hug her sister. "I've missed you, sis, what trouble have you been getting into lately." Regina hugged her back just as hard.
"Oh you know me" she winked, causing Zelena to laugh.
Cora walked up to all the women "Why are all of you just standing here?" Robbie laughed
"Sorry Nana I just really missed aunt Reggie"
Cora smiles "Well off to the living room with all of you, I need to check on dinner. You made it just in time dear" cora kissed Regina on her forehead "dinner is almost done"
Henry showed up an hour later with the same greeting Regina received. They all ate dinner together. Robbie told story after story of Boston High and Zelena talked about her growing business.
After dinner, both sisters walked into their father's den, where they knew the best cider was kept. Zee poured two tumblers Regina poured two more for her mother and father. "I've got two guns.." Regina began, Zelena smiled and finished "one for each of ya" they both laughed and headed to the already-started movie.
Halfway into the movie Robbie is asleep on the love seat Zelena is on her phone texting who knows. Both parents are watching the movie as if it were the first time.
It's time.
Regina sent Emma a text
'I'm about to head out
Emma replied with a bike emoji.
Regina walked into the kitchen to put up her long ago empty tumbler and quietly opened the back sliding door. Making sure it stayed unlocked for when she came back.
Regina walked into the backwoods flashlight in hand. The weather had been amazing all week. All she needed was a jack and she would be fine. She saw a second light coming her way.
Far enough from the house they knew they couldn't be heard. Treehouse in site they both looked at each other knowingly first one up gets to pick the music. So they laughed and ran.
Emma made it up first, how? Regina will never know with a duffel bag full of all the night's necessities
The Struts played softly in the back and Emma set up the Rigg, sitting in a beanbag chair and using a makeshift table.
"We've done dabs together right?" Emma asked as she put the right amount of water in.
"You're my one and only Emma's"
"Awww how sweet"
"Shut up, yes we have. What's so good about this batch?"
Regina reach for the container Emma held out as if it were the holy grail. "A whole one, nice"
"Nothing but the best for you. So you remember that gorilla glue and the jack hatter we had last time? Well mix them bad boys up and you got this."
"What are we waiting for" Regina smiled
Hit number one both caught and caught, gasping for air. A combination of I can't.. oh man… and air please was said by both.
Second hit Regina found some old x-ray glasses she was convinced worked because she knew how many fingers she was holding up in front of her.
Third hit Regina had rolled up a blunt with what she found in Emma's bag. She took I nice long hit, held and held and held. "Let it out Reggie" she did singing ' you're that part of me I'll always need"
"Would you rather" Emma began "eat all the ice cream in town or eat all the gummies?"
"Yes!" Regina replied, "Will you be there?"
"Of course."
"Then why even ask, I'm there"
"When are we going?"
Emma looked at her friend
"Going where" they both laughed.
"Are you feeling it, Reggie?"
"Emma I am one with the house, for I am the tree."
"Reggie we are both laying on the floor…am I one with the
tree?"
"No you can't be I'm one, you can be two"
"Nice, two is better than one"
Regina rolled her head to the side to look at her friend "How so?"
"Say you need to move a couch, how are you gonna do that on your own? You need two, ipso facto I am two so it shall be done"
"Aww can I be two," Regina asked
"Sorry there can only be one, two" Emma explained.
"Well, you can't fight that logic."
Regina sat up, scooped a nice-sized dap, and took a hit handing Emma the rigg to finish up. When she cleared the bowl and they had both caught their breath. They laid back down.
"Emma, this is nice," she said as playing with her friend's fingers.
"Mmm," Emma agreed.
"We should go out sometime."Regina didn't ask
"We're already out Reggie" Emma smiled.
"Well yeah but I want to Take you Out. Wherever you want to go." Regina corrected
Emma rolled to face Regina "Tell me this, where would I want to go if I'm already where I belong." She smiled.
"Your middle name should be charming." They both continued to play with each other's hands. Regina kept thinking.
"Come back to me Emma whispered." Booping Regina's nose "tell me what your thinking of."
"Let's take a hit first, " Regina said. They had come down from their high a while ago.
Both were done coughing red eyes and full of courage.
"Emma, would you allow me to take you on a date?" Regina could hear her heart in her ears.
Emma smiled "Can I tell you something please don't laugh"
"Ok"
"No, really you have to promise."
"Ok, what is it?"
"I kinda thought we had already been dating." Emma pulled her hoodie over her head and pulled the string to hide. She wasn't done " I mean we are always together and if we're not we're texting. I walk you home from school, not saying I don't like it, I love it, give me more time with you."
Regina's smile couldn't get any bigger. " May I kiss you then?"
Emma quickly popped out of her hoodie "Finally"
Regina was on her so fast Emma fell back with the weight change. Emma lay on her back looking up at her supposed girlfriend. Lips coming to meet for the first time.
Who knows how long they had been making out when Regina's phone pings notifying she has a new text.
Zee: Reggie if you don't get home in the next 30 minutes I'm going to bed and you are going to sneak in through your window
"Shit" Regina stood bumping her head on the top of the house "Shit" she fell back down.
"What's wrong?" Emma asked looking at the time on her phone "IT'S 3 AM! We need to get you home?"
A few minutes later Emma and Regina are crossing the backyard on a belly crawl. Both shush each other when the other giggles.
They make it to the Mills back door still a light high "Same time tomorrow?" Emma asked
Regina leaned in, kissing her softly.
"Same time." They pulled away each going their way.
Regina was locking the back door, jumped, and did her little celebratory dance.
"Must've been fun," Zelina asked from her seat in the dark.
Regina spun so fast that Zelena had to jump out of her chair to make sure her little sister didn't end up on the floor.
Regina hugged her older sister "We're dating" she said eyes red big smile and all.
" Everyone knows Reggie. Let's get you to bed."
"Zee, if you knew, why didn't you tell me?"
"I knew you'd get it someday."
