The sun shone behind her sunglasses as Meiko exited the subway station. Today was her first date with Luka, her girlfriend of 2 months. It felt so surreal to her, to be able to call Luka her girlfriend had been just a dream until recently but here she was today, waiting for her so they could go and have a day with just themselves, no Rin and Len to shout at each other, no Kaito to ask them to buy him ice cream and most certainly no Miku to be singing her lungs out at the most random moments. Today was just for her and Luka and- Oh speak of the devil, she noticed pastel pink hair coming towards her most calmly, as if she hadn't been 5 minutes late.
Meiko!" Luka said as she arrived in front of her slightly taller girlfriend. "Sorry for being late, got caught up with the twins since they were having an argument haha." She scratched the back of her head and looked up at Meiko knowing she was going to be forgiven for her lateness.
"Well I guess you cant help it if it was those 2, especially with Rin's tendency to bite Len at every given opportunity." Meiko had responded in a sympathetic kind of voice, one she would only show to Luka. "Anyhow, we should get going. The café is serving a special coffee until 12pm and its already," she looked at her watch, "10:30."
"Oh it would be such a shame if we were to miss an offer this special, wouldn't it be?" Luka now had her hand on Meiko's forearm and was stroking it slowly as to tease her a little bit. She knew how much her girlfriend liked coffee and how she always wanted to try new ones, if they were limited time only she took as a challenge to get it before its gone forever.
The walk towards the café was quite the feat, having to cross the same street 15 times because Meiko had kept going the wrong way, Luka seeing a cute dog and wanting to pet it, both of them getting distracted by small shops of clothes. Needless to say, they had spent more than an hour trying to find the small hole in the wall shop Meiko had told Luka about but when they did it was like they had won the Olympics. After going in and ordering this limited coffee Meiko had been on about for the whole walk they sit down and talk until it arrives.
"So Mei, how did you find this place anyways? Its so small and not even on the map!" Luka asked, putting her arms on the table, interlacing her fingers, and looking straight (or gay?) into Meiko's wood brown eyes.
"Kaito told me about it," Meiko shrugs dismissively, "he said the coffee tasted good so I decided to check it out." She added on, reaching out and grabbing one of Luka's hands to sheath it between hers.
They didn't say anything after that and just looked at each other, wondering how they were so lucky to have started dating.
After around 10 minutes their coffee had been finished and they were picking up their bags, ready to leave.
"So dear, where are we going now?" Luka asked after straightening her back and stretching her arms.
"Wherever you want, since we came here because of me its only fair you decide where we go next." Meiko had responded with a small smile while looking at her girlfriend.
"Then how about the amusement park?" Luka suggested, putting her finger to her cheek in thought.
"Alright then, but before that..." Meiko looked at her, a bit of blush accumulating on her cheeks, she then leaned down and kissed her on the lips. Luka had been surprised but after a second she kissed Meiko back.
"Ready to go now?" The pink haired girl asked.
"Yeah let's go..." Meiko was still blushing after saying that, making Luka chuckle slightly.
"Oh you're just the cutest, sweetheart."
