Salty Sweet Sea Life
~No POV~
"BIG MOM IS HERE!!!!!"
The voice of the frightened soldier echoed through the halls of the castle. No one dared move a muscle, as if time had been frozen still. A bead of sweat fell down the king's brow as he straightened himself out. Shaking in anticipation as he began moving his way forward. The three princes and the pirate captain following behind him, each sharing his look of anticipation.
"Let them in! Tell the cooks to prepare every single dessert they can in a matter of seconds! Fill the hall with air! Get moving!"
"Yes sir!" Each soldier saluted before rushing off in different directions.
"Father." Fukaboshi began, a nervous sweating dripping down his face as they made their way to meet the visitors. "What's the plan?"
"Buy time if need be. We got lucky when White Beard offered his flag, but Charlotte Linlin is not like him."
"Our only advantage is that we are underwater, surely they aren't crazy enough to try an all out assault. So La Ti Do."
"She is a Yonko for nothing. Surely she has some plan should something go awry."
"The fate of our Island, our people, could be on the line today. Akkamanbo."
"My king." Jinbei spoke sternly, wearing a determined glare. "The Sun Pirates are willing to do whatever it takes for our home. We will fight should it be necessary."
"Thank you old friend." Neptune kept moving forward, clenching his fist as he steadied his breath. "Now let us meet them before she gets too impatient."
The group quickly left, not noticing the large metal door being opened slightly. Along with two sets of eyes peering through the crack, one of which was dripping with tears. Izuku and Shirahoshi had heard the whole thing. Sending the princess into a state of fear and worry.
"Looks like things are starting to get interesting." He nervously chuckled, finding himself once again in the grasp in Shirahoshi's hand.
"I-Is everything going to be alright?" She questioned, holding onto him tight for support. "Is my family in danger?"
"No no no! Of course not!" He tried to assure her, gently placing a hand to her forehead. "Big Mom is just here to talk. Besides, I know your family is really strong! Everything is gonna be okay."
"R-Really? Y-you mean it?"
"Yep! Especially with me here! I like you guys so I'll help!" He flashed a bright smile at her. Allowing her to calm down slightly, just enough to let him go. "I need to leave then. Don't you worry, I'll be back."
"P-Promise? W-Will you promise to be okay?"
"I swear everything will be fine. I'll come back and tell you how it went." He started to leave them, peaking back at her just before shutting the door. "I still have a lot of stories for you. Next time I'll tell you about the time I got stranded in the desert!"
He laughed loudly as he shut the door behind him, just catching a glimpse of the girl starting to giggle before it latched closed. The smile he wore soon fell as he put his hands in his pockets. Walking away in the direction he saw the others leave. Taking deep breaths as he grit his teeth in frustration.
'Well I was hoping to show off my identity in a big way, but I didn't think it would be like this.' He mentally said with a dry chuckle. 'Considering how Big Mom operates, she's going to ask for an alliance of some sort. Meaning I may need to step in for the bargaining.'
He grimaced lightly as he swallowed a lump in his throat. The nervousness started to get to him as he felt a powerful aura close by. With a smile to hide his growing fear, he stepped closer to its source. A faint cackle in the distance made it all the more unsettling as he proceeded onward.
"I wonder if this would be something you would have done, Dad." He spoke softly to himself, disappearing into the halls once again. "Wait, I'm still lost!"
~Elsewhere~
In the meeting hall, now filled with air, stood Neptune, his sons, and Jinbei all awaiting for the demon they were about to face. The doors slamming open, revealing a rotund woman standing as tall as Neptune himself, who sauntered into their presence. Her footsteps echo under her own weight. Following behind her were three more individuals.
One was a tall muscular man with short spiked crimson hair, most of his height from his long legs. His face wrapped in long scars, with two symmetrical scars poking out of the side of his cheeks. His sharp glare from his crimsons glared at the onlookers, showing them his killer intent.
The second was a tall statuesque woman with tan skin, blue eyes, and pronounced lips lined with lavender lipstick. Long wavy silver hair covering one of her eyes and reaching down to her back. She wore a pink leotard, a long yellow scarf that flowed near the ground, a large floppy cap that resembled a beret and a pair of long dark boots with an ornate pattern. A tattoo of a rose adorning her thigh on her upper right leg.
The third and final individual was a mermaid, floating with the help of a bubble wrapped around her torso. She was a shark mermaid with fair skin with freckles on her face, light blue eyes and blond hair styled into a bun with two appendages that resembled that of a hammerhead shark. Her tail was dark, wrapped by a light frilly piece of clothing that was connected to her open jacket that was decorated with flowers on the edges. She had a grin that showed off her sharp shark teeth as she looked around the room as if searching for someone.
"Greetings, Big Mom." Neptune bowed his head to the emperor. "I am quite surprised by your sudden arrival. Had I known ahead of time the sweets would have already been prepared."
"MaMaMa! That's my fault entirely!" The obese woman laughed heartily. "It's just my dear sweet daughter Praline had met this wonderful young adventurer some time ago! He claimed to be coming his way here to join the Sun Pirates to deal with some business!"
'Adventurer?' Jinbei thought, his mind switching to the young man he has yet to meet. 'This can't be a coincidence.' He calmed himself with a breath. "Well I'm sorry to inform you we haven't had any new recruits on my crew as of late."
"Oh? That's too bad, I was really hoping to see little Tiger again~" Praline whined playfully as she floated along the room. "Are you sure you haven't seen him around? Tall, muscly, red skin and green hair? Big red sun on his chest? Sound familiar?"
'Midoriya? Does he know the Charlotte's?' Fukaboshi surmised, gripping his trident to steady himself.
"That's too bad. She seems so smitten with the gentlemen." Smoothie chuckled, looking at her brother. "I mean, after all, Katakuri seems to know him too."
"It was one conversation." He said simply, his eyes gleaming off into another direction.
"If you call getting into an argument over cream or custard filling for donuts a conversation, yeah?"
"We were drunk."
"You had two shots of tequila at most."
"Drunk."
"Whatever you say brother." She shrugged with a laugh as he glared at her. Praline laughed in the background as her siblings bickered.
"Alright you two that's enough." Their mother scolded them. "Well that does seem to be a bit of a disappointment. I was certainly hoping to meet the young man that could make my daughter swoon so hard. I heard he makes a good Matcha Mille Crepe cake!"
"Well that certainly sounds...interesting..." Neptune sweat dropped. "But as far as I know there is no one on the island by the name of 'Tiger'."
"Oh, that's just a nickname! Or is it a code-name? It's just what the public calls him on the news. I guess it's hard to get good TV down here sometimes. Definitely going to change that." Praline mused aloud before shrugging. "He has the epithet Tiger the Sea Dragon thanks to his exploits both in and out of the grandline. Seeing how he's a tiger shark fishman it kinda makes sense."
"By chance, would any of you know his real name?" Fukaboshi questioned, hoping to confirm or deny his theory.
"Yes!" Praline cheered out. "His name is actually-!" She was cut off when they heard a sound off in the distance. A faint whistle that sent shivers down spines, especially as it grew louder.
Suddenly, a figure jumped from the shadows with a spear in hand. Katakuri Seeing this, quickly swung his weapon, colliding it with the assailant's blade. Their eyes grew wide as they saw a smirking Izuku Midoriya was the one clashing blades with the Dog-Tooth. The room was still for but a few moments before the boy stepped down, laughing madly as everyone else seemed to be shocked for words.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" Izuku said calmly, his laughter soon dying down. "Wasn't expecting to see you a lot again. Especially after what happened in Mock Town."
"And who's fault was that? Last I checked I wasn't the one who decided to pick a fight over something so stupid."
"Like you wouldn't want to break people into pieces when they insult your family." Izuku let out a girl laugh, much to the jargon of the Neptune family.
"IZU!!!" Praline dived at him, talking him into a wall. The two soon land on the floor with Praline's bubble popping from the impact. "I missed you so much!~" She cooed as she held him into her chest. Reveling in how much he looked like a tomato.
"H-hey, P-Praline..." He squeaked nervously, frantically trying to avert his gaze. "G-good to see you again."
"How come you haven't called? You said you would when you reached Fishman Island! I even gave you my own personal transponder snail!" She pouted, staring down at the young man whose eyes had gone wide.
"Transponder.....snails......" He said quietly, wiggling his way out of her grasp. Much to her confusion, he walked over to one of the walls and smashed his head into it. Repeatedly. "I AM SUCH AN IDIOT! HOW HAVE I NOT NOTICED MY STUFF WAS DESTROYED?!""Destroyed! That snail was expensive! How?!"
"I can explain that." Fukaboshi spoke up, though Izuku simply kept smashing his head to the wall causing cracks to form. "You see, Midoriya here was caught in an explosion due to one of Decken's more violent assaults."
"Explosion! Who is this Decken bastard?! I'll rip him to shreds!"
"No way in hell!" Izuku called out, having finally stopped breaking the wall. "If anyone is tearing Vander Decken a new one it's me! No one messes with my friends!"
"Well we'll do it together!"
"Okay!"
"I remember flirting being so much different when I was younger." Linlin whispered as she watched the two young ones talking.
"Same." Neptune agreed, before coughing to refocus the conversation. "So with this revelation, am I to assume that this is going to correlate to our potential alliance?"
"Yes, it does. Seeing as Young Midoriya is to become a member of the Sun Pirates and is already quite smitten with Praline, they can be wed and we can move on to proper deal makings."
"Now hold on." Jinbei interrupted them, a fierce glare in his eyes as he stared at the boy. "I normally have no qualms with accepting new crew members, I will not allow it before this boy answers all my questions."
"You know what, that's fair. Ask away then Jinbei!" Izuku chuckled, wiping away some blood that dripped down his face.
"Just who are you? You claim your father was a member of my crew years ago, you bare our mark, yet there are no records of you anywhere. And the only ones to have left the crew were a bunch of radicals that were arrested almost two years ago."
"Oh, you mean Arlong and his crew The Arlong Pirates? Yeah I heard about that. I'm a bit upset that I wasn't the one to knock his teeth out but when you make a promise you gotta keep it." Izuku shrugged absentmindedly as he helped praline off the floor.
"My hero~" She softly blew into his ear before fanning herself while he held her bridle style. Causing him to shiver slightly in surprise.
"Anyway..." He coughed lightly. "As for who I am, well I'd have to begin at a time I wasn't even conceived yet."
"Are the sweets here yet, this is getting long." Smoothie said, as if on cue, some guards came in a wheeled multiple carts filled with desserts.
"About twenty years or so ago, your founding member, Fisher Tiger, led your group into the holy lands of Mary Geoise. Freeing all of the Fishmen and Merfolk that were wrongfully imprisoned as slaves, along with countless humans that you also saved. Though I doubt many of you cared much about that. That is until you found two stowaways, a woman and a child."
"Inko and Koala." Jinbei's eyes began to widen, causing Izuku to gain a small smirk.
"Tiger had agreed to take them home, and even had the kindness to erase their brands with a new symbol. The symbol of the crew that saved them. And along the way, Inko and Tiger fell into one another's embrace for a single night. All before the world came crashing down after returning Koala to her home."
"This is getting good." Katakuri said as he munched on a donut through his scarf.
"Then that would mean?" Mamboshi asked with wide eyes.
"I am the son of the great hero of Fishman Island, Fisher Tiger and the human Inko Midoriya. Born of a love that lasted one night and only one." Izuku said proudly. "So yeah, I'd like to say I have at least some right to be affiliated with The Sun Pirates. Right?" He cackled like a madman as many of their faces morphed into one of the funniest sights he had ever seen.
Right?" He cackled like a madman as many of their faces morphed into one of the funniest sights he had ever seen
Yeah like that. Most of their faces were like that. Save for Big Mom and her two older children. Praline was pretty surprised but she didn't make that face. Although, Izuku didn't really care much since he was now rolling on the ground in laughter. To the point he was about to keel over but he managed to stop himself.
"So yeah. Almost twenty years later, I've come to my father's homeland in hopes to connect to my heritage. That and protect his home since the passing of the great White Beard." He said with a smile.
"A noble sentiment, but surely you don't expect me to simply go along with this?" Jinbei's eyes hardened. "Whether or not you are really Tiger's son is up for debate, but the fact you volunteer for marrying a member of Big Mom's family is still unsettling."
"Well, to be perfectly frank, I have some of my own reasons to do so as well." Turning his attention to the emperor in question. "I had hoped that Big Mom would listen to my requests regarding my home island. If I may be so bold."
"You may. After all, you are about to join my family. What kind of mother-in-law would I be if I don't hear my future son-in-law out?" She laughed as she inhaled a few swiss rolls.
"I would like my home island to use your flag for protection." His joking demeanor quickly dropped, his brow falling more somber. "It's a poor island. Too poor to pay for a tribute so we have no access for help from the Marines. Throughout my childhood we had been attacked by pirates and all we could do was fight for ourselves with the few trained heroes we can get. And recently, a resort is to be built there courtesy of a rich family, which will bring more trouble. All that I ask is that you agree to offer your protection."
Izuku, now sitting on his knees, bowed his head to the emperor. The woman was silent for a moment before laughing. Causing him to raise his head to her. The woman clapped happily as the boy stood to his feet
"Of course! Under my flag they will receive top protection from any and all crews that think they can mess with me. So long as they can meet my conditions, it will be done."
"Thank you ma'am. I promise the people are hard working and will provide whatever they can in return."
"How long will it be for the resort to be built?" Praline asked with a smirk. "I'm thinking that it'll be a good place for our honeymoon. And I'll get a chance to meet your mother."
"It should be opening up pretty soon actually. So long as you're perfectly fine with being engaged to a man with a few more lovers and a couple kids." He chuckled nervously when her smirk morphed into shock.
"KIDS?! LOVER?! WHEN?! HOW?!" She began shaking him madly while muttering a few incoherent sentences.
"All of them are adopted. As for my girlfriends, I grew up with a lot of them. Others I met after the resort was being planned out. So yeah, it's a bit complicated but we make it work."
"Oh?" She raised an eyebrow, making him sweat a bit before she sighed. "I should have known a stud like you wouldn't be single." She grumbled. "I guess I can be alright with it. So long as I can meet them soon enough."
"I'm sure you'll get along. Not to mention the kids will definitely love you."
"Aw~ Trying to charm me into your love nest so soon?~" She giggled as she watched him blush. "Okay. I'll be calm about it. But I want to meet them as soon as possible."
"That can be arranged." Big Mom chimed in. "We have some very fast ships so it should be much trouble to get there. Though I am excited about having some more grandkids. MaMaMa!"
"I'll be joining as well." Jinbei spoke up. "I'd like to hear it all from Inko herself."
"Okay but don't expect anything different from what I already told you." Izuku sighed. "Anyway, I can call them to let them know. Meaning I'll need to go topside for a few new snails. And then I have that meeting. Thank god that it was set up months in advance."
"Meeting?" Neptune asked curiously. "With whom would there be a meeting that would take so much urgency?"
"I got a meeting with the rest of the Seven Warlords to deal with."
"WHAT?!"
"Oh, yeah. Probably should have mentioned that. I'm a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea." He said casually.
