Thirteen
While class 1-a had Hero Studies on Mondays and Wednesdays, class 1-b had it Tuesdays and Thursday. Friday was the only day that neither classes had Hero Studies.
Seeing as it was Monday, class 1-b had History and Chemistry after lunch. Both were boring, but Akko eventually got through. When school was dismissed, Akko was quick to join her friends as they left the building.
“How about we all go out tonight? My treat.” Kaibara suggested.
“Sounds good to me.” Kuroiro said with a shrug. Kendo and Monoma nodded in agreement.
“I’m in.” Akko agreed as well. A few others, namely Komori Kinoko, Shiozaki Ibara, and Honenuki Juzo, agreed as well.
“There’s a good ramen place nearby.” Akko piped up.
“Ramen it is.” Kaibara nodded, allowing Akko to take the lead. The group of eight UA students gained some attention, but as they entered the almost empty ramen shop, the attention was solely on Akko.
“Hello Bakugou-chan, I see you’ve brought some friends with you today.” The owner, a kind older lady, greeted the teens.
“Good evening Ose-san.” Akko gave the woman a kind smile. The group sat at a large table and ordered their ramen, making idle chatter as they waited.
“What do you think we’ll be doing for Hero Studies tomorrow?” Komori asked. “I hope it’s something I can use my mushrooms for.” She clapped her hands together lightly.
“I don’t know.” Awase shrugged.
“I can always ask my brother what they did today, it’ll probably be the same.” Akko piped up.
“That’s right! We won’t have to worry about falling behind class a if we know how they did!” Monoma cackled. Rolling her eyes, Kendo let out a sigh. Akko simply chuckled.
When Akko returned home, she was greeted by her mother.
“How was the first day?” Mizuki asked.
“Fine, a little boring though,” Akko shrugged. “I’m heading up to my room.” And that she did. Although, not before stopping by Katsuki’s.
She knocked on the door and entered before she received the go ahead from her brother.
“I didn’t say you could come in.” Katsuki grunted as he finished pulling on his t-shirt that he usually slept in. Akko closed the door behind her.
“I don’t care,” she shrugged, walking over to his bed and plopping down on it, a hand working at her tie to remove it. “How was Hero Studies?”
“Fine.” Katsuki scowled at her as he sat on his bed beside her.
“Boring!” She groaned out. “Give me the details or I’m stealing your hoodie.” She grinned at him, holding up said hoodie.
“Combat training okay?! Now give me my damn hoodie and get out of my room!” He growled, snatching the hoodie and shoving her off his bed. Rolling her eyes she stood off the floor and left the room.
“Bitch.” She scoffed.
“Jerk.” Katsuki replied as she shut the door.
The next morning Akko scowled at the media horde outside of the gates to UA. Beside her Katsuki scoffed and began to push through the crowd, ignoring the media as they asked him about All Might.
With a sigh Akko reached into a side pocket of her backpack and pulled out three small round balls. Smoke bombs made to only be set off if Akko blew them up.
As she walked through the crowd she dropped the smoke bombs and set them off, smoke quickly blocking everyone’s view of her as she walked through.
Once on school grounds Akko released a sigh of relief and continued on her way, ignoring the look she received from one of the teachers that stood watching the crowd.
When she made it to her classroom she was swarmed by her friends who began asking questions about their Hero Studies earlier in the day.
“Suki didn’t say much, but he did say it was Combat Training.” Akko explained as she finally made it to her desk.
Before any more questions could be asked, the bell rang and everyone returned to their seats as Vlad entered the room.
“Good morning everyone,” Vlad began. “First up is roll call, after that we will need to pick a class president.” Vlad explained before beginning to call out everyone’s names.
Afterward Vlad pulled out a box with a slot in it and handed Rin Hiryu a stack of white slips of paper to which he took one and then handed back. Once everyone had their paper, Vlad instructed them to write down two names, one for president and one for vice president.
Tapping her pencil against her desk, Akko looked around the room. Kendo is a good candidate for prez. She thought. But who is a good candidate for vice prez? Definitely not Monoma, he’d brag about it too much. Finally deciding, she wrote down the two names and folded her paper.
“Will those at the end of each row please collect the papers and drop them in the box.” Vlad said after a few minutes passed. Akko stood and walked down the line, picking up everyone in her row’s votes before placing them in the box.
She then returned to her seat and made idle chatter with Kendo and Kuroiro.
“Alright, here are the votes as they stand,” Vlad’s voice brought everyone’s attention to the front of the room.
President: Kendo-11, Akko-8
Vice President: Kuroiro-9, Akko-6
Akko blinked. Huh? Who voted for me? Kaibara sent her a glance that clearly showed that he was one of the votes she received.
The bell soon rang and Vlad left the room as Ectoplasm entered to begin his maths lesson.
At lunch Akko sat with her classmates.
“Say Akko-cchi, who did you vote for?” Kodai Yui asked the dual-haired female.
“Hm?” Akko looked away from Kendo at the mention of her name. “I voted Kendo-chan for prez and Rin-san for vice.” She replied with a shrug.
“I voted for you.” Kaibara put in.
Responses like “Same.” “Me too.” came from a few others.
“I voted for myself.” Monoma piped up with a smug grin. Everyone deadpanned at him. What did we expect? They all collectively thought.
“Monoma-san,” Shiozaki began, her soft voice catching everyone’s attention. “You’re too irrational for class president-” she was cut off as an alarm blared through the cafeteria.
“Warning. Level Three security breach.”
“What the hell?” Akko asked aloud as she was quickly dragged from her seat by Kaibara.
“All students please evacuate the building in an orderly fashion.”
Orderly was the worst way to describe the chaos that happened as soon as the alarm went off. Everyone was shoving against each other and pushing to get out as fast as possible. Kaibara attempted to keep a hold of Akko, but his hand slipped for a single second and he was dragged off into the crowd.
“Shit! Akko!” He called, but he was drowned out by everyone else. Akko was shoved around, eventually she tripped over someone’s foot and landed against someone’s chest.
“Sorry,” She apologised to the person in question. Looking over her shoulder to see that it was Awase. She had an idea. “Awase-kun, fuse us together so we don’t get separated!” She voiced her ideas. Awase nodded.
“Good idea.” He quickly got to work before they were dragged away by the crowd. Running into Monoma and Kendo, Awase fused them to Akko and him as well. Together the four managed to stick together until someone managed to calm everyone down.
By standing on top of an exit sign.
“Listen up, everything is okay!” Everyone stopped moving and looked up at the blue haired boy who stood on the exit sign with shaking legs.
“It's just the media outside. There's absolutely nothing to worry about! Everything's fine! We're UA students. We need to remain calm and prove that we're the best of the best.” Everyone released a breath of relief.
Awase reversed his quirk and unstuck his classmates from each other. The group of four managed to return to their classroom unharmed. Sure Akko had a few bruises, but she was fine either way.
“Hey,” Awase caught her attention before she moved off to her desk. “Nice quick thinking. We would’ve gotten carried away again if you hadn’t thought of that.” He praised. Akko waved him off, a slight blush on her face.
“It’s nothing, really.” She said before beginning to walk away to her desk. She was stopped by Awase’s hand on her wrist.
“Call me Yosetsu.” He said, giving her a smile. She returned it with a nod.
“Okay then, Yosetsu-kun.” She said before the two separated and returned to their seats.
It wasn’t long before the bell rang and the door slid open to reveal the number one hero.
“I’m coming through the door! Like a hero!”
