Standing in front of Yuuie High, Akko released a breath. It was finally the day of the exams, at least, the recommended exams. Katsuki walked her to the school and stood beside her, not going to leave until she had entered the building.

Waving goodbye over her shoulder, Akko walked through the gates and joined the horde of recommended students. It didn’t take long before the students were let inside and were gathered in the auditorium.

“GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!” The Voice Hero: Present Mic said from his position on the stage. It seemed he was awaiting a response from the students, but no one spoke. Just get it over with, Akko scoffed mentally.

“Tough crowd,” She rolled her eyes. “Written exams will be taken tomorrow, but today is time to go against each other! Only the top five students are allowed to enroll, but even if you fail today, there’s always the normal way to get in!” Present Mic exclaimed enthusiastically.

“Today you will compete in an obstacle race and one with the fastest time wins,” Akko scowled. This wasn’t in her favour. “And with that, let’s head to the course!”

Everyone left the room. Most went to the changing room, while others simply went to the arena. Akko went to the changing rooms and removed her school uniform. Underneath was a black tank top and short black athletic shorts with white accents; she had a belt that sat on her left hip and went down that held pouches as well, each pouch filled with pebbles and pre-made bombs.

After leaving the room and making her way to the arena, she was given a number. Placing the number on her shirt, she joined the other students as they waited.

“Hello there!” A loud booming voice said from beside her. Akko jumped slightly and turned to face a tall boy with a buzzcut.

“Hello.” Akko said, raising an eyebrow at the strange boy.

“I’m Yoarashi Inasa!” He held a large grin, unaware, or perhaps uncaring, of the eyes that were drifting their way.

“Bakugou Akko.” She responded, looking back towards the obstacle course as the first contestants began. Inasa did not move from her side, instead he took a seat and began speaking to her as if they were old friends.

“— but All Might is very cool! Hey!” Akko just tuned in to what Inasa was saying, rambling about his favourite heroes and such. “What’s your quirk?” Having gotten used to his loud voice by now, Akko simply let out a sigh.

“It’s called Explosive Touch. Anything I touch I can explode on command, as long as it’s within ten minutes of touching it.” Akko opened one of the pouches in her belt and pulled out a pebble. Holding it in her hand where Inasa could see, she caused the pebble to explode.

It wasn’t a big explosion, but it brought some attention to the two of them. Akko lowered her hand. Inasa was in shock, he hadn’t expected a quirk like her’s, but he smiled at her excitedly.

“That’s awesome!” He said, causing Akko to sigh softly. I’m stuck with this dude. It wasn’t long before Akko’s number was called along with three others, thankfully she wasn’t up against Inasa, or else she might deafen herself.

“READY?! START!” A gunshot rang in the air. Akko sprinted, careful to preserve her energy. The three she went against were a pace ahead, but none of them had speed enhancing quirks.

The first obstacle soon showed itself to be giant robots that towered over them. While her competitors stopped in shock, she continued on, dodging lasers and weaving between robots.

Grabbing a metal container filled with gunpowder, Akko launched it towards the feet of a robot as she passed them, setting it off and causing the robot to collapse.

The next obstacle was difficult. It was a large pit with stone pillars scattered around connected by ropes. Wishing she had been born with her brother’s quirk, Akko stepped on one of the ropes cautiously, letting out a sigh of relief when it didn’t bend under her weight.

Carefully, she walked across the rope, ignoring her contestants who walked just as slowly behind her. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted one of the contestants get ahead of her, but she didn’t care.

It took a while, but she eventually got to the end and made a run for it, a few paces behind the contestant that passed her earlier. The final obstacle soon showed itself and Akko smirked, this was right up her alley.

Grabbing a handful of pebbles, she threw them on the ground, careful to avoid the mines, she tossed a few at the feet of the contestant in front of her feet and set them off, causing them to stumble and let out a shocked shout as three mines went off.

Quickly passing him, Akko set the remaining pebbles off, leaving contestants screaming in fright as the mines went off under them and a giant cloud of pink spoke blocked their view.

She left them in the dust, literally, and made it to the end of the course with angry contestants following behind her. Akko made it to the finish line and stopped to catch her breath. That was fun.

After changing back into her clothes, Akko left the school and spotted a familiar face waiting at the gates. Scratch that, three familiar faces. Izana was leaning against his parked bike, Seiken beside him leaning against the whitenette’s bike as well, with his own parked behind it.

Leaning against Seiken’s bike was Yuuko, looking worried. Probably because Akko had taken much longer than originally thought. And Akko admits she would have been out earlier, but she was stopped by Inasa who congratulated her on her run.

“There you are!” Yuuko said, jumping up from the motorcycle to embrace Akko in a tight hug.

“Yeah sorry, took a little longer than expected,” she reached in her pocket to pull out her phone,” And my phone died.” She said, waving it slightly before putting it back.

“Well, at least you're done for today.” Izana shrugged, messing up Akko’s hair with a smirk as she batted his hand away. Seiken rolled his eyes and pushed himself off the bike and moved over to his own.

Izana sat on his bike and Seiken did the same. Naturally, Akko sat behind Izana and Yuuko sat behind Seiken. They then took off on their bikes heading back towards Shibuya for the rest of the day, until Akko had to return home.
