Wolverine & Deadpool - “You’re the only one I trust to do this.”
“You’re the only one I trust to do this.” Wade said, in a voice different from usual, one focused and determined.
Despite himself, despite their past, Logan was impressed. “I know,” he said. “I’ll take care of her.”
“You’ll do more than take care of her,” Wade hissed. “You’ll protect her and look after her and be her guardian angel.”
Logan couldn’t think of a good reply, so he nodded. “The X-Men will keep her safe Wilson.”
“I want your personal guarantee-”
“You have it,” Logan cut him off. “I don’t care a damn about parentage, I’m not going to let any young girl fend for herself when assassins are after her.”
Wade seemed to relax at that, sort of. “It’ll just be till I can kill the bastards,” he promised.
“I could-”
“It’s my fault they’re after Ellie,” Wade said. “And I am definitely going to show them what it means to come after a Wilson. Well, a Camacho.” He corrected, sounding a bit like his old self. “Or a Preston now, I can’t keep up. But she’s my daughter and I’m going to take care of this myself.”
Logan nodded once again. “Good luck,” he said gruffly, before turning away.
