Deadpool/Madcap - "You Don't Need To Protect Me"
“You don’t need to protect me.” Wade told him.
Madcap was lurking above the battle on one of the ledges as Deadpool took out another three ninjas.
Madcap tilted his hat. “Maybe I’m just bored,” he suggested.
“Maybe you’re being a mother hen,” Wade retorted as he decapitated another man.
“Maybe I’m planning to kill you.”
“Maybe you’re lonely.”
That shut Madcap up. “Maybe you’re an idiot,” he tried finally.
“Too late,” Wade said cheerfully. “You hesitated, I win.” He sliced through the last ninja. “And that’s why I’m the Merc with a Mouth, and you’re just a guy with a colourblind tailor.”
“You know, insults to cover up jealousy is such a cliche.”
“No, commenting on an insult to try to take out the sting of it is a cliche.” Wade looked up at him. “Are you going to stay up there all day?”
Madcap shrugged. “The view is nice.”
“You could buy me dinner.”
Madcap blinked at him, then jumped down to ground level. He ‘booped’ Wade’s nose. “Does it look like I have pockets?”
Wade looked him over and gave a dramatic sigh. “Once again, Wade Wilson is the responsible one.”
He offered Madcap his arm.
“I think you mean the ‘whipped’ one,” Madcap retorted as he took the arm.
