Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes - "Come Home With Me"
“Come home with me.”
Bucky didn’t turn to face the man behind him.
His eyes were too focussed on the exhibit.
There he was, along with the man behind him, and many others.
Back when he was whole.
The man behind him shifted.
“You’re my mission,” Bucky told him.
“I know.” The man sounded sad.
Bucky hummed and moved along.
The man followed. “I want to help you.”
Bucky didn’t say anything, leaning in to read an inscription. There was a silence. It was after hours, it hadn’t taken much for Bucky to disable the alarms, and the security.
“I have a place we can go,” the man continued, struggling to hide a bit of desperation in his voice. “Just you and me.”
Bucky paused and stepped away from the wall. He looked over his shoulder and nodded once. It was worth it to be near the man again. Just like on the walls.
