Charles Xavier/Erik Lehnsherr - "You Can't Protect Me"
“You can’t protect me.”
Erik looked him over. “Apparently not.”
“We’re supposed to do this together,” Charles reminded him, ignoring the jibe.
“You can monitor.”
“Monitor.” Charles repeated with disdain. “I should be there with you.”
Erik sighed and crouched down so he could look his lover directly in the eyes and take his hands. “You’re only just recovering from that drug Beast gave you.” That was said with suppressed anger. Making oneself human, giving up his natural, god-given powers… Erik understood, of course, but he still harbored resentment towards Hank for making Charles choose.
He kissed Charles’ hands. “If you’re there, I’ll worry.” Playing on Charles’ heartstrings worked best. “And then I’ll be distracted.”
Charles glared at him and slapped away his hands. “Fine.”
Erik smiled in triumph, stood up and kissed the top of Charles’ head. “Danke, Schatz,” he murmured in Charles’ ear. It never hurt to play to one’s kinks.
Charles’ glare darkened. “Just go.” But he was blushing.
Erik chuckled.
