It was an interest feeling the one Edwina felt right now. She was entering Aubrey Hall, this place hold an interest place in the life. The last time visit, she left as an engaged woman, but now she was coming to the weeding of her sister.
Edwina had come to terms with the fact that it was actually the way it was supposed to. Kate married with a man she truly love, one that she could tell would do anything for her; something she could never had.
She had notice how involved he was in all the details of the wedding, how always made sure Kate would was not trying to please everyone, but actually get things the way she wanted. Unlike what had happen in their failed wedding, where in retrospect she realize he could not care less about things, he just wanted things done.
“Hi Bon”, it was it snaps her back to reality, as she was her older sister walk to greet her follow by Newton, Francesca, Eloise, Hyacinth and Gregory.
Kate had come early with Lady Danbury and their mother to see the preparations for the wedding, which despite the fact of being an intimate affair; it was going to be beautiful. She had rather stay in the city, not taking calls, just wanting to stay away a bit, to not make things uncomfortable.
They invite her in right away and let her in the details of the festivities. She was glad to see how happy Kate looks, she had always fit with the family and proof of that was how they younger siblings follow her right now.
That is something she points out to Kate later, when they are alone walking around the gardens.
“Oh, they are just being nice and welcoming. I’m pretty sure Anthony is forcing them to be so nice”, her older sister tells her.
“Not at all Didi. I can tell they do it because they like you”, Edwina responds to her.
“You are being too nice, Bon”, she says in a shy voice.
“You are being modest. Truth is, they are very lucky; they are getting the best sister in the world with you”, she smiles at her, “there are going to have the best guide, the most fun one. Remember how much trouble we would get when we were kids. But hey we always find a way to make it out alive”.
That earns a big chuckle from Kate, who is almost at tears at the memory, but also at her sisters words.
Its Edwina the one that has to break the moment, in fear they spend the rest of the day crying and doing apologies at each other. It wasn’t necessary anymore, all was set as it should be and now it was just time to let it heal.
“Now c’mon, tell me more about the wedding”, is the way she finds to continue.
They continue to walk for the rest of the afternoon join later by her sisters soon to be extended family, talking about the future, hopes and dreams. Like before, like always.
