The dragon and I

The beginnings

My old man once told me that there is more to life than just war and hate and that yes the hag was the King and this was her kingdom, her people, but that he was the one who killed men and women who dared threaten the crown or the King, that it was he who called the command of the army for the ones he loved that he was the one that fought and hidden the scars from the hag so she would never know that he risked his life for hers. I never thought about what he had said till he came home, hurt. The hag was angry, she promised to raise hell to those who dared hurt the love of her life. She called on a witch to heal the old man that was the day I met a girl about my age Uraraka Ochako, a witch in training, I made friends with her that night I thought if I or anyone should get hurt in the near future that she would be useful. The old man healed faster than I thought he would, he had gotten over what had happened and was happy to be alive and well all thanks to the town witch but not the King she was furious and oh, once she found out who hurt her husband she had filled her words with truth and raised hell on them, she had ordered them to be hung in the town square and I was welcomed to join her since I was of age to watch.

The old man was there watching from the overlook that you could see the town square and be in clear sight of the people while I and the hag were in the chairs that sat in the front, the king stood and said in a calm but scary voice that had the people watching quietly down “You have hurt the one that is dearest to me and for that reason and that reason alone you shall hang may the gods be with you after you leave this life they will choose what will happen to you.” I snickered at that thought alone that the gods will choose what would happen to this poor son of a bitch I was surprised the hag didn’t hurt him herself. He hung from his neck and I could tell the king was happy because upon her face lay a smirk the one me and her share, the one the old man was so fawn of, she looked up to the overlook to look at her dear husband, he had a slight smile on his face he was also satisfied with the man dead, so I guess in a way he wasn’t over it like he said he was. I asked the hag if I could stay in the square, and she gave me a head nod and some coins then sent me on my way to look around by myself. In the town, I met a boy with yellow hair and a black streak that looked all too much like a lightning bolt.

His name, is Denki Kaminari, a future blacksmith, much to my dismay he talked a lot and tricked me into being his friend, I already had an annoying friend Izuku Midoriya but now I have two. I went home in time for dinner and when I sat down the hag gave me a speech, “One day son this kingdom will be yours, the people will be yours, the law will be bent at your will, and yours alone. You will be king my little dove, you will rule with a heavy fist and a kind heart. Don’t take it for granted learn to use what you have and learn to fight with the weapons the blacksmith gives you.” I looked at the old man he opened his mouth to speak “Katsuki, don’t forget to find that person that will be by your side no matter what and to fight for them in any way you possibly can.” The old man was wise and spoke the right words at the right time, I was always thankful for him and how he worked in the quiet and did things in the shadows and out of the eyes of the people, I was also thankful for the hag and how she had confidence and never lied to the living or the dead but I would never tell them this for I am their son Bakugou Katsuki, the future of the Kingdom, I will be king and once I become king I will be both of my parents, I will be dangerous to those who cross my path or dare threaten me.

I'm much older now and more muscular, I've grown into my body and my role as the new king "KACCHAN!" I roll my eyes at the childhood name that Deku gave me but it wasn't him who called me that at this time  it was Denki "What is it now." I said putting the sword upright in the dirt. The man behind me took a big breath and said "King Aizawa is here in the castle." I turn to look at Denki. The old man's oldest friend is here in the kingdom. I roll my shoulders and make my way back inside the castle to deal with this ick that was once gone but is back now.

I sit at the table across from the old king he looks beat and worn out but I know that he always looks like this "Bakugou, I'm not here to fight and argue with you like I did when you were younger ." He says his voice still sounds dead but his eyes are far worse I know to trust him with what he says and his actions, but it's hard to trust a man who worked with my father and did only what the old man and the gods know. I relax realizing that he means no harm "So what is it you want?" Aizawa's Adam's apple bobs, he is nervous, which makes me nervous but I don't show it. "The Todoroki kingdom." My blood runs cold, and I lean forward. The Todoroki Kingdom, where the kids within the walls have gifts like mine, where the king sits on his thrown and uses his power for evil, where the king abuses the one who gave him 3 sons and a daughter. Aizawa speaks again "The king has fallen and Todorki Shoto has taken the throne since his eldest brothers and sister did not wish to take over." Todorki Shoto I know him, when my family went to the kingdom we had met, he was a shy boy, I thought he was dumb he had a great gift, the gift of fire and ice. His father was not as kind as mine was and that's why my old man despised him, he hated his very soul and the old man let him know that by leaving a scar on his face after he was rude to the hag and to the Todorki's queen. "I and my family are going to his coronation in 2 weeks, as a king you should go." I look at him "I'm confused." I said to him I stand from my chair and walk over to his "Then let me help you see." I roll my eyes and put my hands on his chair, turning him to face me "I know you didn't come here to talk to me about some coronation, so what is it your here to talk about?" I ask him narrowing my eyes at him he pushes at my chest which makes me back up from him. Aizawa stands and says "Dragons, two different ones they were shifters, in the Todorki forest, your father and I discovered them when they were protecting two eggs your father and I made a deal with them we would get them out of the forest, and into a cave far from the kingdom so the king wouldn't find them and then when their babies grow into men and learn how to live amongst the humans that our sons will go find them and having them as friends so they will be stronger together." Aizawa looks at me and puts his hand on my shoulder "You and Shinso are old enough and ready to go off and do what has to be done by this time now the two shifters will know and be waiting for the two of you to go and get them so don't be late." I couldn't believe my ears, I hear the door open "It true son." I turn my head to look at the old man.

His grown gray hairs but he never lost his touch. I laugh at this but my father's eyes speak only the truth “You're telling the truth.” I run my hands through my blonde hair “Son you must go.” The old man pulls a folded paper out of his pocket and hands it to me “When you boys go to the Kingdom make haste boy don’t sit and talk.” His voice was serious it scared me when he used that voice to show he meant what he said. I nod my head without another word.
